What will you and your kids be wearing on Christmas day?

Do you wear something new/special or just any old thing?

Pyjamas for lost of the morning. Then the kids like to dress up in their best clothes. I tend to shove on whatever's closest during the chaos!
Christmas jumpers have featured in the past few years

Occasionally a Christmas jumper, but usually pjs until about 1230 when out on jeans and tahiet to go to shift at homeless shelter, anything more is too much as it's usually too damned hot with heating up high in building we use!

Pyjamas all day

I try to wear a nicer outfit than usual. Two little DGCs will be with us, I have bought silly Christmas socks for the 6yo.

Generally the children get a new outfit in their santa sacks. One year we all wore Christmas jumpers.

Pj's all day here too, the DC's sometimes change into new clothes or pj's they get given as presents.

Something cool and comfy, the house is always hot with extra people in it and the oven on all morning. So definitely not Christmas jumpers. Usually jeans and a nice top. DCs wear whatever they want.

We visit family so sadly can’t stay in pjs! DD and I have a tradition of getting a new dress each to wear, and I might dress up DS as a reindeer or something (he’ll only be 6 months old).

We usually try to wear something a bit smarter than usual without being too formal or overdressed.

Well, I'd been considering clothes... But you've inspired me now to look up providing a selection of leaves and festive fruit.

DC tend to get some new clothes for CHristmas and wear some of those. Usually they will chose the dressiest of what they have got.

For me, it depends if we are at home or at parents/PILs. If at home I will generally spend a lot of the day in pjs (or comfy clothes) and an apron, with the intention of getting changed into soemthing smart (maybe new) before the big meal, but sometimes dont get round to it!

Going to parents or PILs involves overnight stay and therefore packing, so I will generally choose something reasonably smart and (unlike at home) usually manage to wear it for most of the day!

I will wear a smart casual outfit for mass (possibly a woolen dress but maybe trousers). The plan is to change into swimming togs - DD and I are braving ourselves for a Christmas Day swim! !!

Then, after tracksuits back on before hot showers at home - we'll probably get back into the nice outfit for a few family visits (drinks and nibbles type calls) and relaxing later at home doing the presents and dinner.

Got my 2 a onesie each plan is they wear them all day and I'll be in something similar. Don't see the point wearing anything fancy or tight and uncomfortable when I plan to eat a tonne of food all day long.

Always a new outfit that I've bought specifically for Christmas day either a dress or a skirt and top.

My DH and our 5DC all change into new clothes that they've been bought for Christmas.

I have a Christmas dress with gingerbread men on that I got two year ago that I will wear, DH and DF will wear chinos and casual shirts, DS (almost 3) will wear some cords and a Christmas top and my mum normally dresses up a bit. Boxing Day is more casual.

Swimsuits. Maybe a damp towel around the waist when at the table.

It's the DDs first trip to Australia for Xmas and I'll be replicating my childhood

His onesie now doubt. We don’t generally get dressed up or sometimes even dressed!

I'll wear my favourite top which is cream and has applique lace on the sleeves and neckline. At least it was my favourite until I saw a photo of me last year - I looked like a beer barrel.

However as I've lost a bit of weight I'm hoping that it'll look better. I'll team it with beige jeggings (pull-ups in case of needing to run to the loo quickly) and I'll take my slippers (as I'll be with sister) because her puppy might try to eat my shoes. I'll take my gardening shoes if I need to go out for a walk with puppy. Practical, as ever.

Something that won't shame me when I see the photographs later DD is easyas she'll want a new dress. DS1 has asd and doesn't always respond well to new clothes so they have to be stealthily introduced in November or December. He also likes to choose his own outfit so I have to stage his wardrobe so that it's the first thing he puts his hand on! DS2 will wear anything as long as it's Lego or minecraft themed DH will probably wear something garish to upset his mother (too easy) or a combination of shirt and trousers that will manage to look exactly the same as every other year, and I will be wearing my usual ensemble of frazzled and splattered with cranberry sauce

PJs until I'm forced to get dressed to go to my ex PIL for lunch, then something smartish but comfortable jeans and a nice top probably.

A cardigan usualy, as the house starts cold and gets warmer with the oven etc.

A washable t shirt top - gravy/potato grease etc

Large, stretchy trousers to accommodate the gluttony

Christmassy top with a bit of sparkle, jeans or stretchy skirt (with Christmas pinny as necessary)

The children I'd imagine would probably pull their Christmas jumpers out. I might just do whatever. I have a grey jumper with a snowflake or a bottle green dress that never got worn last year....

So pleased I'm not the only one saying pyjamas all day!
