Do you wear something new/special or just any old thing?

I might dress up DS as a reindeer or something (he’ll only be 6 months old). I want a picture. How cute?! Grin

I'll be in Europe on hols avoiding it all, so fully intend to be sporting PJs and cosy socks, while sitting on the terrace with coffee and a nice pastry.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2017 19:59

Something with an elasticated waist! Either pyjamas or leggings / Christmas top (long sleeved t-shirt, not a suffocatingly warm jumper).

GreenShadow · 08/11/2017 21:02

Certainly not new clothes but I do put on something a bit nicer than usual.
Rest of the family (other than MiL) don't bother though Sad

RefuseTheLies · 08/11/2017 21:08

My toddler dresses herself now so she'll likely be wearing her nappy, a pair of sparkly wellies and a cat ear hairband Confused

MrsBonato · 08/11/2017 21:08

If we go away I will wear a dress or tunic with footless tights and boots, DH will wear his usual shirt, jumper, chinos and ds will be polo t shirt, jacket or cardigan and nice jeans.

If we are at home then I cannot wait for us all to stay in PJ's all day and I might even get us all new ones!

OSETmum · 08/11/2017 21:27

I usually wear a Christmas jumper but might buy a Christmas dress this year. Dh will wear his christmas jumper and ds (8) will not wear whatever I plan for him and will wear something that he gets for Christmas instead, probably a Pokemon shirt Hmm.

OSETmum · 08/11/2017 21:27

T shirt not shirt!

Hadenoughtoday · 08/11/2017 21:29

PJ's all day - my dd's and I all wear matching ones.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/11/2017 21:41

I have my last year Christmas top (sweatshirt, navy) and some soft Primark Christmas leggings - that'll be for breakfast/ptresents.

Then I have a green chenille jumper for later, either leggings or jeggings.

No PJs all day here

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 08/11/2017 21:46

Pj's all day. I'm off work for the first time in years so I might treat myself to some Chris pj's this year.

My kids will likely remain in their pj's too.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 08/11/2017 21:48

Ski gear! Finally got my annual leave approved today!

StrumpersPlunkett · 08/11/2017 21:50

Last year for the first time EVER we had a pj day however we had no guests
This year we have guests arriving at 11.30 so slow get up but smart casual by then.

ILoveDolly · 08/11/2017 21:52

We are going to in laws for lunch so I've got a nice new-ish comfy dress (loose over the waist) in mind. Dds will wear smart outfit, they both have some smartish dresses they like but if they want to do sparkly top and jeans I wouldn't mind. But my children seem to be quite formal and love smart clothes! To that end I expect ds will want to wear a shirt and the red velvet bowtie he favours on such occasions (he is one of those 6 year old fogies). I tried to get them to wear pjs all day last year and they were scandalized Grin

internetCrazies · 08/11/2017 21:58

My lad (5) is already asking for his kilt. Unfortunately he's outgrown it and I can't afford another yet. He wears one every year. And for any occasion like a meal out, a friend's birthday party..... or the opening of an envelope...... 😂

We all love to dress up on Christmas Day but to be fair, we're usually out and about visiting or going to a restaurant. DD (10&7) wear pretty dresses.

Provincialady · 08/11/2017 23:17

The three dds and I all happen to have zebra onesies. We wore those. Was keen to buy dh a lion one, him less so.

toffeepumpkins · 08/11/2017 23:30

We all have matching Christmas jumpers and t shirts and wear those with jeans and a Xmas hat.

CointreauVersial · 08/11/2017 23:36

Something nice, festive and sparkly, but still practical for cooking etc.

We have 12 for lunch - not sure they'd appreciate me in a pair of skanky PJs.

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/11/2017 23:37

Pyjamas mostly. Then jeans probably.

AutumnTreesThroughTheWindow · 08/11/2017 23:48

PJs all day.

Just the children and me all day. Perfect!

gillybeanz · 09/11/2017 00:12

This year we all have to buy someone else a christmas jumper and wear it, apparently according to dd.
Being the smallest I imagine I'll be the elf. Grin
Dh, probably The Grinch.

Haudyerwheesht · 09/11/2017 00:30

Christmas Star Wars t shirt for ds

Christmassy dress for dd

Both will have new (non Christmassy) PJs on Xmas eve.

Catinthecorner · 09/11/2017 00:44

Hiking gear for walking the dog.

Fancy joggers, vest top and cardigan/jumper the rest of the time

confused123456 · 09/11/2017 00:48

Our ds will have his Xmas pj's on to open presents. Then probably jeans or trousers and the shirt we got him for his 2nd birthday (birthday was September so it will still fit). It's smart and means no need to buy anything else. Unless we see anything gorgeous that we can't resist.
Dh will wear jeans and a t shirt. I'm not sure about me yet..

DustyOwl · 09/11/2017 07:06

Last year we told the boys to get dressed in something smart, we were off to grandma's for lunch. DS2 (then 4yo) came down in his school uniform. He wore it all day. The photos will be brilliant when he's older!

Lovemusic33 · 09/11/2017 08:02

Pj's all day as we are spending it in our own for the first time ever.
