DD found out about Santa a few months ago, and she's now saying she doesn't really know what she wants. So I've said I'll get her surprises.

I'm a bit stuck for ideas. I've ordered her a few of those vinyl Harry Potter bobble head things but that's it so far

She still plays with her toys, but is past the stage of lusting after big play sets, the latest doll etc.

She likes Harry Potter, music, animals

We are moving house either just before or after Christmas, so I suppose reasonably priced and easily portable items are best.

My 10 year has asked for a lap top as we don’t have one.

Her dad and I are divorced and we’re buying it between us. She understands she won’t get much else due to the cost!

I also get some Smiggle stuff, hair stuff, make up, and small stocking fillers.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 05/11/2017 16:30

Usernameavailable your dd sounds a lot like mine (substitute penguins for meerkats). What are her favourite games/ things that get used most at present?

pinkliquorice · 05/11/2017 16:31

Am I the only one with a 9/10/11 year old DD who has absolutely no idea what Smiggle stuff is? Hmm

LEMtheoriginal · 05/11/2017 16:36

You are lucky - thankfully dd has now grown out of overpriced plastic shit

AVeryBigHouse · 05/11/2017 16:39

Dd hasn't really asked for anything yet but I've got her Harry Potter bits from Primark (pjs, pants, bunting, bag etc). I'm also going to get her a new rucksack and Aldo have mermaid blankets coming in next week for £9.99 so will get one of those too.

Her main present will be an iPhone I think.

WildRosesGrow · 05/11/2017 16:49

If you play games, then I would recommend Monopoly Deal and Dobble, both reasonably priced and we've played them together as a family.

MissEliza · 05/11/2017 16:53

Dd (9) was lusting over a JoJo Siwa doll in Asda the other day. I’m tempted to get it but it seems a very weird thing to want.

loveinanelevator · 05/11/2017 16:54

Anything little mix I can get my hands on. Nintendo switch and games.
The rest will be little bits just to wrap like clothes, pjs, sweet, lipsmackers etc.

snowmanshoes · 05/11/2017 17:30

Pop vinyls

Appuskidu · 05/11/2017 17:32

Which pop vinyls are people going for?

Cagliostro · 05/11/2017 17:35

If I get one for DD it will be Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts related, or Jack Skellington

Xoticdreamz · 05/11/2017 17:46

Nintendo switch plus mario game
Converse bottoms
Adidas bottoms
Adidas trainers
P.j's
David Walliams New book
Frustration
I think he also wants New minecraft books but I'll have to make sure which ones.

pinkliquorice · 05/11/2017 17:48

For Dd I will either get Clueless/ Stranger things or Cruella de vil pop vinyls

usernameavailable · 05/11/2017 18:03

@Howmanysleepstilchristmas
The best thing I got her for her bday just gone, was an hour with meerkats. She loved it. In fact it was the best ever! This is very outing put the smile from her melted my heart!
Anything with meerkats on, games that use her brain - like ones I listed earlier. If you go onto Amazon and put in penguin stationery, u might get a lot of stocking fillers! She collects rubbers too, so any smiggle rubbers make her happy.

Look at the smile 😊

Emoji Poo cushion

Harry potter cluedo & 1000 piece puzzle

wimpy kid calendar

New tablet & headphones

A mixture of stationary - she likes post it notes, highlighters and also requested an electric pencil sharpener.

lionsleepstonight · 05/11/2017 18:33

Ipod or iPad mini.

LittleMyLikesSnuffkin · 05/11/2017 18:37

10 year old DD is getting

Lego friends sets- ski lift and snow lodge
Light box
Onesie
Mermaid tail blanket
Jacquline Wilson books
Sylvanian families kangaroo family
Secondhand Xbox 360 to share with her brother
Big set of sharpie markers
Colour changing Harry Potter glass goblet

Casablanca78 · 05/11/2017 18:51

My DD is 9, but close enough! So far have got her some Beats Dr Dre white headphones (£48 from Amazon warehouse), a Goji fitness tracker (similar to a Fitbit, she likes borrowing her dad's to see how many steps she can do in a day!) and a build a bear stuffing station which is probably tat but I know she'll love it and it was on offer. I'm also going to get her a new pair of Heelys as she's currently stuffing her feet in to ones two sizes to small now - if anyone's seen them on offer please let me know! Also considering an elusive fingerling but was worried it would be too young for her but it's reassured me reading this thread lots of you are buying them for your 10 year olds. She'd love the unicorn one that's exclusive to Toys r us but I've heard that's as hard to find as a real unicorn!

Nearlyadoctor · 05/11/2017 19:00

iPad mini
2x Lego elves sets
Unicorn pj's and Onesie
Shapeshifter book series
Warrior cat book series
Hetty feather Christmas book
Our generation doll and outfit
Stabilo cappi pens and adult colouring book
Taylor swift cd

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 05/11/2017 20:36

DD's birthday soon and she's getting:
lego friends school set
Monopoly
unicorn beeny boon
golden snitch necklace (with watch inside the ball) from Etsy

For Christmas I'm not so sure, but she has mentioned: another Sylvanian house, vouchers for Lush and that's it really.

LostInTheTunnelOfGoats · 05/11/2017 22:37

This is brilliant, thank you. I've just bought a student hairdresser doll from eBay for twelve quid. What an inspired idea - she has blond hair with rainbow underneath! Also hair styling combs, a Harry Potter moneybox and a hanging mandela tapestry thing and Harry Potter wall stickers for the new bedroom (two birds, one stone) Brilliant. I'm going to get some of the other bits recommended too, once my Park vouchers come through. Thank you all so much! That hair doll though, jeez I never in a million years would have thought of that, and DD will be over the bloody moon once she sees it

pineappleeyes · 05/11/2017 23:38

What are fingerling and pop vinyls?

Dd1 is 11 in January she's getting

Kindle
Sparkly headphones
Healeys
Nail varnish
Colour change nail varnish
Face masks
Lip balm
Make up (she's just starting to experiment)
Unicorn slippers
Books
Glam goo set from argos if it's ever in stock
Paper chase stationery
New trainers
Mermaid plastic drink cup with a straw ( I may steal this it's fab)
New bedding/accessories for her bedroom
Hama beads

pineappleeyes · 06/11/2017 00:00

I've just googled fingerlings...they're amazing. Not sure how I've missed them!
There are some on ebay...are they fakes?
I've looked at argos and they're on 3 for 2 but you need to go into store to order so I can't even check if there's stock.
