KingLooie, I drive along Clerk Street fairly often but didn't know there was a board game cafe nearby! My DH is going to be so happy we've got two to go to. Xmas Grin

Rufus, Ultimate One Night Werewolf arrived this morning. I want to play now!

We're a family of 4 but 99% of the time there's only 3 of us playing so team games are mainly out. (Good for Christmas or when they have friends over though). Still working through all the suggestions, thanks everyone!

We have just got OK Play and can’t recommend it enough. Very simple game, like connect 4 but with tiles on a table and for 2-4 players. Quick to play and not many fallings out. We discovered it on our only trip to a board game cafe.

Weirdly we’ve had huge rows over pandemic legacy, I thought a collaborative game would be harmonious but certain family members get very bossy and take over.

Ticket to ride and carcasonne are both very popular with all of us (kids are 9 & 12).

It's got to be Catan. Or Risk

Ovo the place near Clerk Street is a shop, well worth a -pilgrimage- visit mind you. The board game cafes I can think of are mostly around Tollcross. I couldn't name them, or name the streets unfortunately, I just know where they are.

Munchkin and Small World both rated 1 in our house!

Pandemic is amazing! We love that it’s cooperative, so you all work together.
Other good coop ones we like are flashpoint, forbidden desert, forbidden island, and there are other versions of pandemic now as well.

If you have a well loved (but not precious), low table that you don't mind using, then Bounce Off Rock n Rollz can be a fun (we managed to pick it up for around £8 last Christmas and especially liked that this one 'wobbled').

Other versions and makes available, such as this one.

Or, make your own version.
