AMAZON Fingerling? Have I been diddled? And not in a good way?!

I follow the Christmas bargain shopping thread quite avidly and it's come to my attention that some of the fingerling purchased via amazon are either fake or simply never arrive.

I Bought 7 fingerling, one for each of my nieces from amazon, the seller's are HaoranUK and XIEJI. Has anyone else purchased from these specific amazon sellers and recieved their fingerling.

I'm panicking a bit as I have already paid out for 7 fingerlings at normal price, and can't really afford to buy another 7 from a different or more reliable store until I'm refunded (if they don't come)

Estimated delivery is between now and 2nd November, I'm dreading the real possibility I've messed up and the girls aren't going to get them at all.

Thoughts please, much appreciated.

zoomer456 have you spoken to Amazon directly? I know there was a seller who sold loads of them, none were delivered and they have removed themselves from Amazon and so Amazon are having to refund people.

Hi yes they have started one refund. The other seller “ATYOU” seem to have disappeared. I somehow started a return to get them to respond but it obviously I don’t have the item to send back.

Do they fake ones do the same as the real ones?

I’ve ended up with 4 fake lol dolls. I don’t mind if they do what they’re supposed to and my daughters don’t realise 😬

These are on wowcher for £7.99 or £8.99 at the min

Bumbumtaloo · 01/11/2017 19:47

zoomer456 yes it was the ATYOU seller that seems to have done a runner. Some of the fakes do do stuff, but not the 40 things it says on the box. Some don’t even have a place for the batteries to go. Have you opened one of the LOL dolls? I’ve also seen a lot about them all over the place. I’ve certainly had my eyes opened!

I would also be a bit dubious about the ones on Wowcher tbh.

zoomer456 · 01/11/2017 19:52

I really want to open them but they have asked for them for Christmas. I’ve seen some photos of screws being seen from the back. I don’t mind these being fake as I know they won’t bother with them and they were cheaper.
Glad I didn’t receive my fingerlings in the end then atleast hopefully I will be refunded x

Beedoo123 · 01/11/2017 19:53

I ordered some from China, they didn’t arrive. I chased them and got refunded straight away from the seller. Hope they arrive ok!

I got my two LOL dolls from claire’s accessories when they were on special offer.

There are so many fakes flooding the market at the moment, I feel sorry for people who bought the items in good faith. The bloody fakes aren’t even that much cheaper x

I’ve just been able to click and collect sloth from smyths. Showing lots of stock currently.

Didiplanthis · 01/11/2017 21:19

Currently waiting for amazon to sort out my order. Mine haven't arrived. They have lodged a query with the seller. Will be pursuing refund if not here in 2 days. Cross with myself but assumed was legit as through amazon. Will know better next time !

toastyarmadillo · 02/11/2017 06:52

Just to quickly update you all. I bought genuine fingerlings from smyths using preordered. However the ones I ordered from amazon 3rd party sellers have started coming in the post, all are clearly fake, I will take pictures comparing the genuine and the others recieved for amazon and hopefully get a refund that way. Does anyone know if I will need to return the fakes?

IME for items of that kind of value Amazon usually just say keep rather than return but this is goodwill so not guaranteed in all cases. If through a third party seller they may require a return to pass on to the seller.

Bumbumtaloo · 02/11/2017 10:07

I’m not sure tbh, they may just say keep/bin the item. I had a Christmas present delivered that stunk of cigarette smoke, both the packaging and the item. Amazon issued a refund and told me to bin the item which I did.

Has anyone tried out any of the fake fingerlings from ebay or amazon? Sometimes fake copies are nearly as good as the real thing, but obviously cheaper and easier to find. Or are the fake ones a waste of money? I'm hoping to buy one just as a little xtra present and DD wont know any difference.
