My dn (5) has asked for a telescope, another dn (10) has asked for unicorn stuff, and my friends dd (3) has asked for a robotic dog

What's the weirdest request you've had so far this year

2 year old nephew wanted a Tea Bag. Confused All of us were unsure of how to react and DH being the star he is, asked if he wanted regular or green tea! Nephew says "the one the monkey drinks."

Last year, my 4yo DD asked Father Christmas for some 'Dry Day Prickles'. I was a bit stumped as to what the hell these were and it was actually another MNer who cracked the code for me. She wanted some Dried Apricots! Even funnier was when I realised why she was asking for them...there was an episode of Danger Mouse where a unicorn was fed some dried apricot and it started farting rainbows. I think DD thought that if she ate them, she too could fart rainbows Grin

DS is 3. He's asked for "Cinnamon Flakes, a toy toaster, and, umm... an iPad please Mummy!".

I said Santa couldn't manage an iPad, so what about a Milky Bar instead? He accepted this with great enthusiasm!

DF has asked for one of those little devices for testing fuses.
Can’t believe I didn’t think of that!
Have got him one that does bulbs, batteries and fuses. He’s going to be over the moon

A rubber car mat with a cat of it from a colleague. It was presented as - I heard you have a cat. I did have a cat but not a car

DulliDulli · 24/10/2017 16:50

Laser goggles that can see into the future - DD, 6.

TKMaxx had great robot dogs last week..

DS wants a tank. Not a fish tank or even a RC tank but an actual military tank. Playing along I did ask where he thought he could keep it and he said "we'll if there is no space I can just park on top of the other cars"

stuckinny · 24/10/2017 17:40

DS (10) has asked my mum for bread, crisps and chocolate. Admittedly, we don't live in the U.K. and it's stuff that tastes awful here.

GeekyWombat · 24/10/2017 17:42

“A torch on a headband” (DD aged 3 has seen a miner’s helmet somewhere).

ColinsVeryJolly · 24/10/2017 18:29

DS asked for a stay in a Travelodge when he was 8.

DontOpenDeadInside · 24/10/2017 20:53

Dd3 (7) has also asked for blutak.
Dd1 (13) is queen of weird. She wants polystyrene heads (for her cosplay Wigs) a shelf!?, Plants, and loads of random cosplay costumes. Oh and pringles, can't forget her pringles.

My daughter asked for a Strictly Come Dancing 'pack' including an inflatable man to dance with when she was about 6, inspired by her admiration of Vincent and Rachel Stevens on SCD.

This year, my son would like a woman's dressing gown, as the children's ones are not as big and fluffy. (This is the case, we did extensive research in the New Year sales and the nice dinosaur one he eventually settled on is not as soft and lovely as his sister's. Will try and find one a bit more subtle than the leopard skin one he really wanted from M&S ladies' department. Although he did look very cute in it.)

We took three year old twins to see Santa. My DD tells Santa she wants 'a big bottle of coke all to herself'' I was mortified. He asked if there was anything else on her list and she said 'No, just the big coke' She was obsessed with the stuff as I wouldn't let her have any. He was a seasoned Santa and didn't promise anything but did say to me on the sly 'just when you thought you'd heard it all'

insancerre · 25/10/2017 06:20

Dh has asked for a bowler hat

He did get a top hat last year so itis not that much of a surprise

Trumpton · 25/10/2017 06:31

A paint roller " All of mine very own " it went everywhere with her . Just the roller ,not the handle .

Penguin13 · 25/10/2017 06:37

Nearly 3yo old DD started off by requesting a house and a pony. Was thinking an exercise in expectation management might be in order when the next request came in...a baby brother Hmm Given that I am still up at least 3 times a night with 7mo DD and obviously have some lead time issues perhaps a pony is not so unrealistic after all Grin

sabrinathemiddleagedwitch1 · 25/10/2017 06:50

@Stompythedinosaur
What is it about blu tac and kids. My dd used to be obsessed with the stuff Hmm

crumble82 · 25/10/2017 07:04

Last Christmas my DD, then 3, asked for a jet ski and a diamond necklace Confused

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 25/10/2017 07:41

5 year old dd wants a piano never played the piano and won’t settle for a keyboard! Someone’s going to b disappointed!

SunshineHQ · 25/10/2017 08:27

DD9 wants a house rabbit, or would ‘settle’ for a puppy.

internetCrazies · 25/10/2017 08:49

My kids suck at requesting presents. DD2 (7) said, "Oh I dunno. I'd like anything. I like surprises. Surprise me"

Shit.

They're cool kids really and not grabby at all. One needed a new bike so said she would have big sisters old one and big sister should get a new one instead. Makes for a cheaper Christmas I guess but DH and I haven't got a clue now and will likely buy random stuff.

magicstar1 · 25/10/2017 08:51

Not this year, but FIL asked for a walking stick made from a bull's penis. We got it for him from America...it's pretty cool.

LaughingElliot · 25/10/2017 08:56

Geekywombat - those are not difficult to find, try a camping store.
