This thread is for Christmas 'snobs'.
Proud to be one. 🎩🎅
So if you're not a fan of elf on the shelf or excessive mountains of tat this is where you can hang out and be safe from discussion of boots 3 for 2 gift sets.

I fancy some Baileys now.

Ginorchoc · 20/10/2017 20:34

ALDI chocolate red wine in lieu of Christmas hot chocolate, Christmas Eve, yeah or god no (2014)

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 20:36

She wouldn't know kids love tat - her DC is only one.

Give it 3 years and she'll be spending the festive period trying to find stock of the most sought after piece of plastic tat 😂😂😂

LaurieFairyCake · 20/10/2017 20:36

Wombling - I don’t have them yet, they’re just bought and paid for and will be delivered the 21st onwards in December

If you don’t buy frangipani mince pies now there won’t be any left Shock

NoMapOfMyHead · 20/10/2017 20:37

The natural environment doesn't though brasty every year the thought on how much the consumerism and resulting waster increases makes me feel so sad.

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 20:39

Not as sad as your crying child's face on Christmas morning will.

I'll take lectures on 'plastic tat for Christmas' from parents whose children are old enough to write lists

ladymariner · 20/10/2017 20:40

Me too brasty.....my mate has just posted a photo of a baileys latte in celebration of the start of half term....seems perfectly reasonable to me!! So I got mine out too 😁 (she is a kindred spirit all year round, and definitely in her Christmas festivities!)

NoMapOfMyHead · 20/10/2017 20:45

My children arw 4 & 8 anon and don't write lists. They will also not be encouraged to write lists as it's grabby.
Obviously, they have a say in what they would like. But is doesn't take a list.
I also think that teaching our children how to sustain their future is much more important than plastic tat which will be forgotten about by boxing day.

brasty · 20/10/2017 20:49

ladymariner We will be around on xmas eve and staying till boxing day, looking forward to it.

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 20:52

Those happy childhood memories of listening to their mum bang on about the environment while their friends unwrapped their much desired plastic tat.

That's a future stately home thread right there 😉

Ttbb · 20/10/2017 20:55

I'm glad that I can attribute my lack of effort to snobbery (knowing me everyone will believe it!)

NoMapOfMyHead · 20/10/2017 21:02

It's not harped on about. It's shown through example throughout thir childhood. Not just at christmas. Also, why the fuck should they care what their friends are opening?.... My dc get much desired gifts. It just doesn't have to be from the argos catalogue Confused

I buy fewer, better, generally more expensive and longer lasting things for my dc, rather than lots of cheap tat. They have a good christmas, don't you worry.

@Anonnamechangeranon

Considering this is a snobs r us thread, your doing very well up there atop your plastic high horse.

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:25

The argos catalogue 😂😂😂👏👏👏👏

Is it 1980 where you live?

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:29

And Lol that you think children don't want to play with the same toys as their friends 😂😂😂

Are they growing up in a bubble completely removed from any other influence than yours?

HTKB · 20/10/2017 21:31

I am way too working class to enjoy a snobby Christmas but I am loving reading about them. Not sure why some posters are getting so defensive?

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:34

If they were real Christmas 'snobs with lovely Christmas traditions then I too would enjoy reading them.

But it seems they have very few traditions and just spend most of the festive period looking down their noses and sneering.

The old piece thread was so much nicer and tasteful than this

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:35

*ponce thread

Scabbersley · 20/10/2017 21:37

anon you are being very annoying now.

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:46

Touched a nerve shabby? Weren't that long ago you were laughing at me

Anonnamechangeranon · 20/10/2017 21:48

Phoned changed scabby to shabby 😂😂😂

Both suit equally 😉
