I've started looking around but there is so much choice!
Looking for a wooden kitchen, I've seen a few kid craft and Melissa and Doug but not sure how good they are

We have the ikea one with the microwave bit at the top. Its great. Lots of nurseries etc have them because its well built and strong.

mamatobabes · 29/09/2017 10:13

We're buying the Ikea one for DD for Xmas. Lots of accessories available too, so if family want to buy bits to match (if you're anything like me you'll be asked for the dreaded 'gift list') it's easy and inexpensive for them.

I've just ordered a wooden one from Asda George for £80. Fingers crossed it's not crappy quality because it looks so lovely in the picture!

We have the little tikes gormet kitchen, its one of the best things we have ever bought, it's gone through 2 dc's and still looks like new, it looks nice in our sitting room too as it blends in.

Ikea kitchen! Best thing ever. It's been going strong for nearly 4 years now.

This might help: www.google.co.uk/amp/www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/house-garden/10-best-play-kitchens-uk-wooden-john-lewis-amazon-a7087151.html%3Famp

Kitchen is such a great toy! We've had ours for four years and DC (now 5 and 3) still play with it every day.

BornInALighthouse · 29/09/2017 10:45

We have the £40 Asda one. It's been great so far but only had it a few months.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/09/2017 10:53

We have the M&D one and its lovely. Nice and sturdy and not too large! Our two play with it loads.

APipkinOfPepper · 29/09/2017 10:57

Another vote for the ikea one, it's great

Thingywhatsit · 29/09/2017 11:13

Beaches - we have the same! It quite good I think. Takes a lot of putting together but is very sturdy. I wouldn't have paid the rrp for it, but I bargain hunted and managed to get it for 80 quid!

Would be tempted by the Ikea one if I was buying again though

BubblesPip · 29/09/2017 11:13

Ikea! Definitely!

KarateKitten · 29/09/2017 11:14

Ikea one. At least it's not a massive pink lump of 'girls work in the kitchen' tat.

whiteviolet · 29/09/2017 11:19

We have the Ikea one. It’s v sturdy as PP have said, ours still looks brand new after a year of play. It’s not a garish colour so looks nice in our kitchen, and most importantly DD loves it. Also it’s a total bargain and they seem to have a good resale value on our local FB selling page.

CaptainsCat · 29/09/2017 11:32

As others have said, definitely the Ikea one! Well made, and not garish! It's my two year olds favourite toy.

I too don't want a pink thing, something colour neutral because it will be in my living room
I did look at the Ikea one though, it will be the only present (along with accessories!) and she's only 2 so it will be played with for a few years

We have a John Lewis one that was half price as they were changing the colour on their new model. It's 5 years old and still looks new

lornathewizzard · 29/09/2017 11:40

We got the Ikea one (free from a friend of a friend!) and both my kids love it

bakingcupcakes · 29/09/2017 11:43

I've also got the ikea one with microwave attachment. It's been played with a lot and still looks like new. X

ACurlyWurly · 29/09/2017 11:49

a family member has the ikea one and put a board on the back where it was open and wallpapered it and stuck a family picture in a frame on it. stops bits falling down the back and made it individual

FiveGoPrematurelyGrey · 29/09/2017 11:50

Ikea for sure.

Mustang27 · 29/09/2017 11:54

I really like our wee ikea one. My son seems to like it too. It’s detailed but not too much so does encourage imaginative play. Some are just over the top imo. My friends one works with her tablet and makes sounds depending on what her wee boy is touching or doing.

Mumof217 · 29/09/2017 11:54

Mine had the plastic one from ELC which was great however since being to toddler groups etc they have the ikea and other wooden ones that are really nice and prefer them
