This fell of my "I'm on" list!
How shameful Blush

Itmustbemyage · 27/01/2017 15:37

I'm expecting a thread grandbaby (my first) in three weeks if that counts?
Could hardly restrain myself from buying all the toys and the cute Christmas baby grows at Christmas time, but I'm looking forward to next Christmas. My son and his girlfriend are living with us so it will be easy to find out what they want/need. Must keep reminding myself not to go OTT with gifts.

HungryHorace · 27/01/2017 17:27

Surely we haven't lost a day already (like we did last year)?!

I'm biding my time with regard to Christmas. Not least because I'm devoid of inspiration and keep missing the sales! 😂

73kittycat73 · 27/01/2017 18:25

Good luck with the knitting MrsDilligaf8. Smile It's a bit like riding a bike isn't it? It starts to come back slowly. I find knitting very relaxing, how about you?
Not too long to go 'till February now. One month down! Xmas Grin

Brightermornings · 27/01/2017 18:30

I fell off aswell Blush. I haven't done any sale shopping not even cards and wrapping paper.
I'm probably going to be deleted off the thread for this but I really struggled Christmas 2016 I just wanted it to be over.
So this year I want to get my Christmas mojo back. My dc's are older so it limits the amount of Christmassy things I can do (I'm also single).

MrsDilligaf · 27/01/2017 19:11

I can't say I was ever much of a knitter, but it has just "clicked" (pardon the pun!)

I hope it becomes relaxing but at the moment I have a little person who is fascinated by the wool so I spend a lot of time saying "no! Don't chew mummy's wool" I will have to stick a note in with my squares to apologise for the baby drool!

Brighter don't worry - we won't boot you off the thread and we will help you get your mojo back Xmas Grin

HungryHorace · 27/01/2017 19:53

Whoop! First purchase made thanks to the bargain thread! Crayons and torches for the stockings. Xmas Grin

Notanotherpawpatrol · 27/01/2017 20:40

I really want the crayons for DS, but can't justify the £3.95 on delivery! There's nothing else I can see in the sale :( it almost doubles the price though.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 27/01/2017 20:41

Maybe I could get some for my nephews too, then it wouldnt be so bad!

HungryHorace · 27/01/2017 21:17

I've asked if they can add a second pack to my order which I'll be able to send on to you if it's possible!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 27/01/2017 22:11

Oh Hungary, that's so sweet of you!

Mrsmadevans · 27/01/2017 23:59

It must be my age..... oh how wonderful a thread grandchild!!! of Course it counts indeedy! Not bought much today been working and shopping for christmas coming a long way down the list of things to do unfort!
Another day gone and nearly Feb bring it on Valentines and pancake day , daffs and crocus out soon snowdrops and primroses out in force with me in Abergavenny just lovely ! Hope all ok take care x

73kittycat73 · 28/01/2017 00:00

I lost my Christmas mojo last year too Brightermornings . I think it's because I had to much on my shoulders. I did really enjoy the day in the end, but the run up was a bit stressful.
Lol, MrsDilligaf, I have to look out for my cat.

73kittycat73 · 28/01/2017 00:04

Ooh, Mrsmadevans, yes pancake day. I'd forgotten about that. (How I don't know, brought the batter mix last week or so! Xmas Grin ) I'm on a diet/lifestyle change atm. (First weigh in Monday next. Eep! :p ) Definitely having an Easter egg though. Must have a few pancakes too, I can get low fat/cal icecream to go with them! Xmas Grin

I can't believe we are still in January. Christmas feels so long ago :-(

My dad is arranging panto for next Christmas so that means I've got something to look forward to. I'm going to start my December bucket list so we have lots to look forward to and I can plan. Wilf will have finished his first term of school so he will be super excited I think!

nickdrakeslovechild · 28/01/2017 10:21

oh mummy you will have the best thing in the world to look forward to, the first nativity! I cried, it was so beautiful and get tearful whenever I think of it.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 28/01/2017 10:43

They do a singing one at preschool but it's very low key. So I'm really looking forward to school production!

lollyj84 · 28/01/2017 14:10

lollyj84 · 28/01/2017 15:25

Thank you very much.
i don't feel as excited as i thought i would be. I think deep down i'm anxious about driving alone

flapjackfairy · 28/01/2017 15:29

Lolly my daughter passed 10 days ago but only insured car on thurs. She rang me from tesco yesterday as she was so excited to have driven there on her own ( all of 2 miles).
I remember how scared i was at first but you will soon be whizzing around without a thought!
Well done and happy motoring x

Mrsmadevans · 28/01/2017 15:41

omg The first time I took the car out on my own I stalled like 10 times in a row lol you will lose that fear very quickly I really love driving now my dear good luck!

lollyj84 · 28/01/2017 15:49

Thank you lovely ladies. My Dh has bought me a little run around and, i've called her Ethel and we are going for a little spin in the morning
Congrats to your daughter Flap

Notanotherpawpatrol · 28/01/2017 15:53

Congratulations on passing your test!! Totally understandable to be nervous, as we get older we are aware of danger more. I remember passing mine at 18, buying my first car and just driving into work without any fear! When I finished work it was dark, I had no idea where the lights were and 2 friends wanted a lift home. Didn't even phase me.
I got a new car at the beginning of last week and phoned dh in such a state that day because I couldn't work out how to reverse, how to turn my lights on or where the windshield wipers were. Oh to be 18 and careless again.
