What will you have for breakfast on Christmas Day?

It was always tradition in our house growing up to have bacon rolls and tea whilst opening presents. I think DH prefers smoked salmon and scrambled egg with Bucks Fizz.

I think last year I tried making Nigella Lawson's Christmas morning muffins although I managed to over-bake them.

What will you be eating?

Homemade pork pie, chutney, pickles, oatcakes, Christmas cake, mince pies and gingerbread house.

With shop bought cheese board, crackers, ham and scotch eggs. Although I might try to make the scotch eggs too.

Served with tea, coffee, fruit juice and Buck's Fizz. Can't wait!

Same as any other day.

Huge bowl of lovely fruit salad, Belgian waffles and cream. Kids requested it! We usually have bagels & a nice pate or home baked pain au choclat, but they wanted a change.

Waffles and hot chocolate Xmas Smile

Tray bake brunchy breakfast made by 5 and 4 year old DSs apart from putting in and taking out the oven - I've been training them up!

Bacon butties and bucks fizz here. Always the same.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 20/12/2016 15:20

Pastries, melon and buckets of coffee here.

PissFlappage · 20/12/2016 15:23

Bucks fizz (from a pre-made bottle not actually making it) and crisps.

Classy.

Origami - are you sure you aren't confusing breakfast with tea???

OrigamiOverload · 21/12/2016 23:29

Perhaps.

Full English on Christmas day and eggs benedict boxing day.

I serve up with fruits and juices :)

80sMum · 22/12/2016 02:14

I will have the same as I have every other day, which is a mug of coffee and either a bowl of Shredded Wheat or a couple of buttered crumpets.

I couldn't eat chocolate first thing in the morning!

MaitlandGirl · 22/12/2016 02:21

We're having churro style French toast with bananas, kiwi fruit, mango and choc dipped strawberries. It's amazing :)

Bubbinsmakesthree · 22/12/2016 05:33

My oh has smarties. On toast.Smile

Cliffdiver · 22/12/2016 06:34

Pancakes with bacon and syrup.

Although bacon rolls sound better!

MaitlandGirl · 22/12/2016 08:04

Bubbins it's really easy - thick cut bread, dip in beaten egg/milk mix and fry in butter till brown on each side. As soon as it's done dip each side in a cinnamon/caster sugar mix.

Honestly - it's soooo good, but it does need to be thick cut bread or it goes soggy.

Lilaclily · 22/12/2016 08:08

Bacon rolls (using those part-baked rolls) with tea/coffee/bucks fizz.

ednabuckett · 22/12/2016 11:42

Always smoked salmon and scrambled egg on bagels with bucks.

I have just cried laughing reading origamis list above I love it!

SundaeLieIn · 22/12/2016 11:50

We have coffee and chocolate coins while we open the pressies.

Then we sit at the table (laid the night before) at around 10am for eggs benedict/eggs royale with bucks fizz/juice.

We won't have our Christmas dinner until about 4pm. Then we are all so stuffed we have a breather before Christmas pudding at around 6 to 7pm.

If anyone still has room after that it's just choccies/nuts etc!

imnottoofussed · 22/12/2016 11:59

@FusionChefGeoff where are you getting your frozen products from, they sound like what I need

FusionChefGeoff · 22/12/2016 12:16

They are from our local v posh garden centre - they stock the Cook Shop range of fancy ready meals etc. Farm shops might do then too - sorry I can't be more specific!
