What will you have for breakfast on Christmas Day?

It was always tradition in our house growing up to have bacon rolls and tea whilst opening presents. I think DH prefers smoked salmon and scrambled egg with Bucks Fizz.

I think last year I tried making Nigella Lawson's Christmas morning muffins although I managed to over-bake them.

What will you be eating?

Croissants, the ones from Booths that are frozen and need cooking, they're the best croissants!
That with chocolates and a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

Fenella the jus rol bake it range is vegan.
I'm doing the croissants and cinnamon rolls as my mum is vegan.
They might be ok with the croissants as they aren't very sweet at all unless you fill them with nutella Blush

She does however drink so we will be having bucks fizz with them. Grin

Ikea's cinnamon buns are better than any I've ever made (I am not really a baker though)

We will also have Waitrose mini pastries and fruit....and a glass of champers!!!

Fenella the cinnamon bun recipe posted upthread is vegan. Not sure how you'll get away with sugar free though Hmm

Fenella - my cinnamon bun recipe is vegan, wouldn't work without sugar though. Well, it would, but I can't imagine they'd taste very nice.

And I used to LOVE cinnamon buns before diagnosis.

Jus roll is featuring heavily in my main course though - butternut squash Wellington.

We have smoked salmon, bagels and scrambled egg. I always used to have a mini fry up with just a tiny bit of everything, but we have that on Boxing Day now.

Have Christmas dinner at about 3 or 4 o'clock.

Op you seem quite concerned with pleasing everyone. Remember it's your Christmas too.

Always want to do bacon rolls but we be in a rush always on Xmas morning to go out we can't be bothered with the hassle and end up with toast usually! Not going out until 1pm this year so maybe will do the bacon rolls. Love smoked salmon but usually have that as a starter for Xmas dinner

Cinnamon rolls (Nordic Bakery recipe, so v dense, not fluffy) and coffee, then around 11 or 12 my Dad will come over & we'll have avocados on sourdough toast with a baked ham, and then cake and fizz at a friend's house later in the afternoon.

Not cooking a big meal for just the 3 of us plus children. We're going out for a fancy Christmas lunch on the 23rd.

Kids usually devour stocking contents and this year i have a selection of shop bought pastries, fresh juice, nice coffee and bucks fizz. Trying to keep it simple as I have a lot of sides etc with the main.

Quite the reverse - I love cooking and baking and as I don't get to do much at Christmas because we stay with family, breakfast on Christmas Day is my one chance to get in the kitchen and do what I want Xmas Grin

Normally bacon rolls but I've bought some things in M&S that are like a little cup made of bacon with egg inside. The DC will no doubt turn their noses up at them but DP might like them and I am looking forward to trying. I think they are supposed to be a buffet item but I don't care. I may do some jus-rol pastries too, as DS2 likes to help with those.

Waffles, bacon, eggs, maple syrup and fruit, plus lovely hot coffee and cold juice.

I may have a go at that baked french toast another day though, it sounds lovely.

I always have omelette, fried bread, and veggie sausages. With tea. The meat-eaters in the family have pork sausages instead, and bacon.

Fresh squeezed orange, fruit salad (mango, blueberry and pomegranate), homemade xmas granola from Nigella, natural yoghurt, mini pastries (frozen ones), nice toast and jams for anyone who wants. Like to keep it relatively fresh and healthy but still a treat - and nothing cooked to order - it's help yourself from the table when you want it.

Boxing day I do a brunch which is heavier and involves a bit more more cooking.
