Christmas Dinner Must Haves!

I'm going to be hosting my first Christmas this year for 8 people. I was just wondering what are everyone's Christmas dinner must haves!? I want to make sure I don't forget anything! Thanks!

Stuffing

My husband says pigs in blankets. For me though it would have to be homemade sage and thyme stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce.

DH says yorkshire puddings

This is my list:

Turkey
gammon
pigs in blankets
stuffing
bread sauce
cranberry jelly
roast potatoes
croquette potatoes
cauliflower cheese
roasted parsnips
carrots, green beans and peas
gravy - lots of!

And sprouts!!! How could I forget?!

Roast potatoes of course.

Stuffing
Cauliflower cheese (for me - YMMV )

Are you doing turkey? Some people like a ham/gammon/other meat too. Cranberry sauce needed as well.

Pigs in blankets. The most obscene amount. One of the benefits of being 8 months pregnant over christmas

I would ask your family though, there are several things listed above by other people that no one at our Christmas dinner would want (cauliflower cheese, dauphinoise potatoes) and a few things that maybe only one person would want (bread sauce, parsnips).

What do you do with the bread sauce? I've always regarded it as a bit odd. It's not a family tradition here

Bread sauce is a must and it's the only time we have it.
Everyone in the house would pick something different that is a must. DH must have parsnips, DS needs cranberry sauce, DD Yorkshire puddings, DM sprouts. I love it all so am quite happy to cook, prepare all the individual musts.

We ditched bread sauce last year, no one was eating it except my mum and she said she wasn't all that bothered.

Thanks for your replies! My family like all of the things suggested although it's only my great aunt who has bread sauce. She insists on bringing her own!

DH says pigs in blankets. But we used to get them and then find them in the freezer about March.

We eat out on Christmas Day now soon worries - but I bet he'll want them for New Year's Day dinner.

my must haves are roast potatoes, roast parsnips and pigs in blankets , along with a load of turkey and proper gravy.

Roasties and gravy, the rest of it I can take or leave.

The kids insist on having mounds of pigs in blankets and stuffing. Makes me wonder why I bother with a joint.

Menu this year is pretty standard-
Gammon
Goose crowns
Roasties
Roast carrots and parsnips
Stuffing
Sprouts
Apple sauce and redcurrant sauce.

Yum yum!

I really like broccoli with Christmas dinner, is that a bit weird?

Twitter - it's only my mum that eats the parsnips too, horrible sweet things that they are .
