I hate it so it's all been done and pressies are under the trees!

I, too, live in Essex (Sarfend) and would love to wrap in exchange for general housework!

We've done both wrap-as-you-go and Yule eve. I vaguely prefer doing it all in one go: everything is all in one place, etc.

Oh, and almost no presents under the tree before Yule, then Christmas, eve. Only exceptions are "boring prssents" (from a child's perspective), like office presents.

I really quite enjoy wrapping.

I do wrap as I go to some extent. Presents which are not for the DC are not hidden and are just in a big (open) cardboard box on top of my chest of drawers. I trust DH not to peek Grin but I do leave his in the plastic bags. When I have accumulated a handful, I wrap them up, and replace them in the box. Usually I get the DC to "help", then I can blame them when the wrapping is a bit home-style rather than professional.

DC love helping, I give them a budget and they choose the wrapping paper, and co-ordinating (or clashing) ribbons and bows, and they write all the tags. I am happily expecting that in a couple of years time, they will do it all without me.

DC's presents, and presents for their stockings, are hidden in a different cardboard box on top of my wardrobe that normally has the out of season clothes in. I hide the wrapping paper in there too. I accumulate the bulk of the presents, wrap them secretively, and replace them in the box, then any late purchases are wrapped as soon as I have some time alone, and added to the box.

I would happily wrap presents in exchange for housework - but my efforts probably aren't good enough to actually outsource.

wish I could do other people's shopping and wrapping for them. I'd be in my element me too!

Re: putting things under the tree immediately. I would highly recommend NOT doing that if you have bought a treat stocking for your cat. Paper doesn't hide the smell of catnip.

The carnage 😱😱😱
