I've got a team of 8 to buy for. Budget is about £20 per person. Would you prefer a bottle of Moet (which is normally £35, but has £10 off in Sainsburys and they're currently doing of 25% off if you buy six or more, so could get for within budget); or a gift card (is there anywhere doing good deals on gift vouchers?!); or something else??

Any suggestions gratefully received!

GinAndTea surely gin is the answer?!
I'd choose the Moët too, OP.

elQuintoConyo · 27/11/2016 23:15

I'd give the Moët to someone else for Christmas. And be sad that it was wasted on me. Could you let people choose?

I can't stand fizzy booze. Even Bucks Fizz - terrible band.

noramum · 28/11/2016 12:23

We get a £40 M&S voucher each year. Honestly, I would prefer something different. I don't shop at M&S a lot and find it a waste to spend it on food. Unfortunately they don't want to change to John Lewis...

I don't mind booze, I like it and if necessary I can gift it on. If you know your team well enough you know if there is anybody not drinking. We have on in my immediate group and it would be a bit awkward.

Hotel Chocolate chocolates are also a good alternative.

Awoof · 28/11/2016 12:40

I would love a 10 quid Starbucks card and a bottle of prosecco

CarrotVan · 28/11/2016 12:54

How about a hamper from somewhere like here - Hamper Gifts

They do corporate/bulk discounts but not sure if 8 would be enough to count as bulk

With only 8 people getting everyone the same thing is a bit impersonal so I'd get a range of things tailored to the individual

Pomegranatepompom · 28/11/2016 20:34

Not keen on Moet either, I'd like Proessco and posh chocs.

AddToBasket · 28/11/2016 20:37

Moët - even if they don't drink it, it is a classy present to take to someone's house over Christmas or New Year.

QuilliamCakespeare · 28/11/2016 20:38

Moet for sure.

Tiggles · 28/11/2016 21:34

Moet - I'd never buy it for myself but would like to try it!

Moët :)

bimbobaggins · 29/11/2016 06:57

I wouldn't agree that even if they don't drink it's a classy present. . It wouldn't be a waste of money.

TealGiraffe · 29/11/2016 07:10

Gift card. I don't drink Grin and if i gave it away then its not a present for me is it.

Maybe a gift card for costa / amazon

chipsandpeas · 29/11/2016 07:13

gift card, i dont like champagne

3amEternal · 29/11/2016 07:14

Coffee shop card for sure.

Maryann1975 · 29/11/2016 07:24

Gift card for me. Don't like champagne so other people would get the benefit of my Christmas present which isn't really the idea of giving me a treat.

Marzipants · 29/11/2016 07:29

Gift card definitely! Never got the appeal of Moet.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/11/2016 08:21

Moët used to be £25 a bottle as standard! But yes, champagne over a gift card.

Kittykatmacbill · 29/11/2016 08:41

I just did some management training last week, sorry to make a dull comment but in the uk it is discriminaty to give alcohol as a gift / bonus, by your employers. There is case law to back it up.

So gift card, personally I would go John Lewis over amazon.

ClaraLane · 29/11/2016 08:44

Gift card, preferably Amazon. I don't like champagne so anything expensive would be wasted on me plus I'm pregnant so wouldn't be able to drink it for months even if I did like it!

AeFondCrisp · 29/11/2016 08:49

I love champagne but I'd rather be given the gift card I think. More useful and I like practicality. I cannot believe the PP who said she immediately regifts gift cards!

BikeRunSki · 29/11/2016 08:50

Gift card

I'd never drink the Moët, and DH barely drinks.

MorrisZapp · 29/11/2016 08:55

Moaning about regifting is missing the point. You save that person the cost of what they would have bought.

I don't drink wine but we always have a couple of bottles kicking about, that we've been given or won. Then when I'm visiting - instant gift!

It's always got value whether you drink it or not.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 29/11/2016 09:03

As a non-drinker I would be a little upset if I got Moët and the Muslim chap was given a voucher.

It has happened to me and at the time I was pissed off enough to put it back on the boss's desk and say "No thanks. I don't drink." Yes it was childish, but the fact that the lady I worked with who was a Muslim was given a voucher made it worse.

bobbinpop · 29/11/2016 09:06

Voucher!
