My partner wants nothing (that he's letting on). He's studying to be a nurse so doesn't really have any hobbies right now, only reads course books, has such an obscure taste in music you can't buy on iTunes etc. Owns far too many shoes and clothes... I'm so stuck what to get him.

We agreed no tat /jokey presents (my default) this year.

Max budget of £100 but would like to get a few things if possible rather than one bigger thing.

I'm so stuck

Can anyone suggest gift ideas? Please help.

Dh and I don't really bother with presents but spend the equivalent on a nice weekend away somewhere.

There's a lot of different places to get them, different styles etc.
A wooden watch sounds crazy but it's really well designed. My DH has worn it all year and has had many compliments about it (from other men!).

derek he's in his final year of his degree so a weekend away is unlikely with uni and exams, his placements and working. We don't really bother with birthdays so we like to make more of an effort with Christmas. Even if just a little one.

Subscriptions to newspapers, magazines or journals he might like/need.

He might not want a weekend away but how about a night out, tickets to see a band or a comedian maybe?

Tickets for two to the theatre, to see a band, a comedian etc.

I've bought Dh tickets to see Jack Whitehall live in February. Printed out the tickets and put in a largish box which ive wrapped.

I've looked for tickets for gigs (and asked his friends too) but there's absolutely nothing he's interested in on (like I said he's obscure at best) He's bloody annoying as I'd love a comedy gig or something but he's not a fan (who the hell doesn't enjoy laughing?) He hates theatre too :(

I got a subscription last year and most of the magazines are still in their postage packs.

Dont buy anything. I never want anything and hate it when people waste their money on stuff that I dont want or need. If he says nothing he probably means nothing.

I feel your pain. I have got DH gardening gloves (he asked for them). Was going to get an ipad on BF deals (he's just told me our existing ipad is perfectly fine and still works ok). So now going to get an annual subs to the (digital) Telegraph. Not very exciting I know. Good luck!

I've put his favourite film in, loads of American sweets, microwaveable popcorn and some nice soft drinks.

It probably cost me £20 in all but you could tailor it to his likes.

Also what about a photo book of all of your memories, snapfish do lovely Ones and you can write messages on each page. I think they're about £10

Also if he is becoming a nurse how about getting one of those watches they have (the ones that hang upside down) and getting the back engraved?

I would get a weekend away somewhere, for when he has finished his studies and it would be something for both of you to look forward to, make memories on, which will last a lot longer than some old tat
