For the man who wants nothing -help

My partner wants nothing (that he's letting on). He's studying to be a nurse so doesn't really have any hobbies right now, only reads course books, has such an obscure taste in music you can't buy on iTunes etc. Owns far too many shoes and clothes... I'm so stuck what to get him.

We agreed no tat /jokey presents (my default) this year.

Max budget of £100 but would like to get a few things if possible rather than one bigger thing.

I'm so stuck

Can anyone suggest gift ideas? Please help.

Dp is a nurse - things I've bought that have gone down well - fob watch on a keyring pully as he doesn't like the clip-on ones. A small pocket diary for writing his shifts in. Hand pocket warmer for early cold starts. Private eye subscription.

Pong cheese box? I buy one for my dad every year, then we sit and sample the delights. Delicious

I agree with bigred - I don't want or need anything - I hate having to pretend to be pleased with presents - I just wish people would respect my wishes - or give me a charity type gift.

A day/night out - a nice meal - or doing a horrible chore is something I would like - I would love someone to properly valet my car - sounds unexciting I know but it would make a genuine difference to my life - or a couple of hours gardening or decorating.

I know my DH would like a 'gift' of a racy night in Wink - I prefer going to bed with a good book. Grin.

I got my hard to buy for dh the following- some boring tools, some boring garden stuff as he likes gardening (fork, mud sieve), some clothes, a dvd of something we wanted to go and see at the cinema earlier in the year but didn't get round to it. And a 'classic rock' cd.
Also in stocking things like cufflinks, magetic pens and list pad to stick on fridge, choccies, beers.

He tends to like boring practical stuff that he needs, so in the few months coming up to christmas I don't let him buy it and get it for christmas for him instead! So he does know about half the stuff ( or even chose it himself) but at least he has stuff to unwrap.

Get him a decent pen - if he's any nurse he'll love it!!!!! 😂

Fobbing watch is always a good idea too.

Alcohol?
Chocolates?
Diary?

My DH is currently mad keen on having a go at blacksmithing, so I'm looking into that for him (he wants to make a poker for his fire pit)

Could you get him some kind of experience? Breadmaking? Cookery? Ukelele lessons?

TheExecutionerQueenMortificado · 26/11/2016 20:57

"he wants to make a poker for his fire pit"

That is a very MN sentence!

Mine is getting a nice jumper.

The Amazon Alexa is over budget at £119 (at the moment) but is super cool...

TheExecutionerQueenMortificado · 26/11/2016 21:44

Beer Hawk do good gifts. My dp loves their stuff.
Engraved pen
Got my dp some personalised slipper socks from not on the high street last year
You might find he says he wouldn't like seeing a comedian but then will love it. I took my dp to a pentatonix gig earlier in the year and he loved it despite being hesitant
