Bargain wise I got some unicorn lights, - build your own millennium falcon and a gryffindor mug for iwoot and that's about it. I thought most of it was crap

LalaDipsey · 26/11/2016 08:11

Joseph Joseph large black scoop colander down to £4.50 from £10 on Amazon. Great stocking filler at that price!

RJnomore1 · 26/11/2016 08:15

Sorry I had gone to bed. HOTEL du Vin/malmaison deal is on the malmaison home page here:

www.malmaison.com/

The voucher is valid for both chains, food only.

Moltenpink · 26/11/2016 09:13

SpecialK I gave DD a silver cross pram last year when she was 1, she didn't use it much to start with (it is quite high) but it looked lovely with all her soft toys in! She has just turned two now and loves pushing it round the house.

cowssheephens · 26/11/2016 09:47

Looking for something different to do with Charlie and the choclate factory. DD loves the books, and has lots of different versions...just looking for something different. Has anyone seen anything. Thanks.

ElizaSchuyler · 26/11/2016 09:53

When we went to see the show My DS bought a choculator (calculator) but it looks like they don't sell them any more. How about a mug (you could team it with a sachet of hot chocolate & marshmallows) or a sports bottle?

insan1tyscartching · 26/11/2016 09:56

Tickets to see the show on stage cows? I'm going next week and can't wait.

CurriedEggs · 26/11/2016 09:57

Cows I love the Charlie bedding and the Golden Ticket cushions. I'm sure they're on Amazon/eBay.

CurriedEggs · 26/11/2016 10:00

THESE are the cushions but I'm sure I've seen them cheaper in B&Q.

FireflyGirl · 26/11/2016 10:01

cows type 'chocolate factory' or 'willy wonka' into Etsy, they have some lovely things.

Tablet pillow, but there's no reason you couldn't use it to prop a book on.

Or [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0141350776/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480154347&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=inside+charlie%27s+chocolate+factory&dpPl=1&dpID=411-zyItPLL&ref=plSrch Inside Charlie's Chocolate Factory], about characters who didn't make it into the final book?

ElizaSchuyler · 26/11/2016 10:02

It closes on 7th January.

FireflyGirl · 26/11/2016 10:05

insan1tyscartching · 26/11/2016 10:05

Badders123 · 26/11/2016 10:21

WheresTheCoffee · 26/11/2016 10:25

I saw a really cosy looking Thomas dressing gown on the Matalan website last night Carrot if you sign up for their reward card then they'll send through discount codes

Badders123 · 26/11/2016 10:29

If you want really bargainous try primark or h and m for thomas nightwear

confuugled1 · 26/11/2016 10:36

If anyone needs a cheap smartphone then EE are doing the Alcatel Pixi phone for free if you buy a £20 top up. Looks like it is just a top up voucher and if you want a rolling payg type deal you can have that desperately but if you do it looks like they do 6 months of free Apple Music. (Got that from one of their blog posts rather than spotting it on the page so investigate further if that's important to you!)

I think you could buy it, use the credit and then switch to a better deal but again, I haven't had time to read all the small print.

It does look like the sort of phone that would be great as a first phone for kids to take to school that you wouldn't have to be so worried about it being lost or stolen. Could be good as a spare phone but it hasn't got the long battery life of the little non-smart phones that can keep their charge for a month.

confuugled1 · 26/11/2016 11:01

I've also just ordered some bargainous clothes from decathlon for Ds1 including a pair of lined wind proof walking trousers for £5 which will be perfect for going to watch rugby matches in - much warmer than jeans and a couple of cargo pockets on them too to stash the assorted gubbins that he seems to accumulate.

I've also bought him a really cheap coat as he wont wear his nice one to school as he has to carry it around with him all day and is worried it will get pinched or lost if he puts it down - oh the joys of moving up to senior school. At £10 it's not such a worry. And there were cheaper ones but not in the right colour or size for the ones I needed.

They also have some cute little simple rucksacks that fold down into a tiny pouch, great for a stocking filler, for just £3 (usual price).

butterflymum · 26/11/2016 11:12

Just a quick reminder that there are Zeek referral codes available over on the Codes/Promotions board.

Also, for anyone with a hard-to-buy for guitar player, this is a great price at moment (have been watching price at the Works and elsewhere), gets good reviews from various sites and could be an enjoyable, fun alternative for them to try:

Blues Box Guitar

FeelingOutnumbered · 26/11/2016 12:41

There's 15% off with the code GOBBLEFUNK at www.roalddahl.com/shop this weekend.

butterflymum · 26/11/2016 12:43

confuugled1, thanks for reminding me about Decathlon. I too picked up some bargains in their sale.

manzilkid · 26/11/2016 12:45

Thanks for the link to the tablet pillows they will be great for hard to buy for nephew and niece.

margaritasbythesea · 26/11/2016 13:15

Another tip for those buying from or sending overseas: ebay's newish iternation delivery system makes for really good rates. For example, a toy I want to buy here costs E34.99. In the UK it costs £15.00. To order from a toyshop like The Entertainer £7.99 or Amazon -£6 ish. I have just ordered it from ebay and it is £1.00 delivery. Bargain.

I have yet to try it on ebay outlets such as Boden and Argos but I bet it works.

It also means you can use a British bank account to pay for the stuff and avoid currency conversion charges. Fab.
