Oddest thing you've put in a stocking

My children are 3 and 1 and the eldest has some odd present requests this year. He will be getting a box of cocopops in his stocking this year. If it goes down well it will be a staple part of his stocking each year.

Anyone else put / putting weird things in stockings?

Dd is 6 now and over the years has asked for and recieved

Bubble wrap
A whole bag of apples
A feather duster
Plasters
Washing up brush

SoupDragon · 16/11/2016 12:06

DS2 (13) wanted a silicone pastry brush like the one I had. He spent the whole of Boxing Day stroking it against his face.

DC always get a multipack cereal box, special biscuits (Oreos, lebanitz etc) new toothbrush and toothpaste and a jar or chocolate spread just for them! Pjs, pants and socks, a book. Other things over the years have included a tape measure, seeds for the garden, plasters, post it notes and a watermelon Grin

Mummyshortlegz · 16/11/2016 12:53

A whole watermelon?? That must have made for one heavy stocking!

DS is getting his own spirit level this year 😂

EmsyApples · 16/11/2016 21:09

Washing up liquid, Egg timer and Handsoap!

Smileat the cheese and potatoes! We do the same with sprouts! One year they even got a stalk between them! The person with the most has been the Bautista! Grandpa got a stalk one year though which delighted DC! They now also get chic sprouts from
M&S in their stocking along with parents and real sprouts!

Mummyshortlegz · 17/11/2016 09:20

I love the idea of chocolate sprouts. I might have to melt down some dairy free white choc and dye it green to try and make some :-)

Dd aged 7 will be getting a back scratcher this year, she's not sure they actually exist and always has an itchy bit on her back that she can't reach.

oleoleoleole · 17/11/2016 12:57

Condoms, (for the older DC who still insist on a stocking!

keepingonrunning · 17/11/2016 13:01

Chilly mooncups! Grin Love it!

keepingonrunning · 17/11/2016 13:04

Squirty cream aerosols for older DCs. Enjoyed straight from the inverted can, head back.

Mummyshortlegz · 17/11/2016 13:05

I want a can of squirts cream in my stocking! Though dh would want to be inappropriate with it.

Rocks, DP is a geologist and wanted more for his collection, honestly they literally looked like pebbles out of the garden but I have been assured they are "special" for some reason, can't remember why now, can't have been listening very well Blush

taptonaria27 · 17/11/2016 22:58

Saturday asked for tissues when he was about 3 - he gets a packet of Christmas tissues every year ( last years are still in the drawer) and also blu tak I'm so glad I have these traditions for him as his older sisters stocking is so much easier as it's all lip balms and other toiletries

doistayordoigo · 19/11/2016 11:08

DS1's entire Christmas list one year was cake and butter, can't remember how old he was. Put little cake bars and those individual patties of butter in his stocking and he was thrilled. Wish he was so easy to buy for now he's a teenager!

This year DS2 (14) will be getting a big bottle of salad cream as he puts about half a bottle on every meal Grin

Mummyshortlegz · 19/11/2016 11:12

Oh yes, buying for little ones is much easier than teenagers I'm sure :-)

I love that they are always delighted by the random things when they appear :-)

The best year ever... DS went to bed at 7pm on Christmas eve and my parents arrived at 8pm. On Christmas morning he had A walkie talkie in his stocking and when he spoke into it his grandfather spoke back... he thought he was 400miles away and loved findings out they were two rooms away!!! Have yet to top that one.

A tin of spam for dh.
