I have a number of babies/toddlers to buy Christmas presents this year, and I want to get books for them that they probably don't have already.

Assuming that they already have the very hungry caterpillar &co, what would you recommend?

The Snorgh and the Sailor is a lovely one about imagination and dreaming of amazing things

Whose Hat is that? Has mazes in it which my kids loved

Mr Seahorse by Eric Carle - has transparent pages hiding sea creatures and is beautiful

Dr Seuss all of them really but especially fox in socks and there's a wocket in my pocket. Good night moon
Dogger by Shirley Hughes and the Alfie books too
Paper dolls
Charlie stinky socks series
The big big sea
Nick Sherratt - all of them really but especially pants and more pants
The daisy books especially 006 and a bit
Peace at last, mother knows best etc
Mrs lathers laundry, or virtually anything really by the ahlbergs
All these for toddlers upwards.
For babies
Good night moon
One ted falls out of bed
The night you were born
Wherever you go my love will find you
The younger dr Seuss One fish two fish etc
Each peach pear plum

There are just so many fabulous kids books, too many to list. I miss those books. Reading endless beast quest is not the same.

Where is the cake? By T.T Khing. It's a fantastic visual story which even very little ones can 'tell' the story themselves. The English edition on amazon is silly money though so we bought Die Torte ist weg! Which is exactly the same book. ( apart from the title there are no words so the German edition is not a problem!)
