Present idea/stockingfiller for young teenage girl..Superdrug have a Zoella make up bag reduced from £6 down to £2 and also Zoella lip balm reduced from £3 to £1. They are also going through at 3 for 2 so I managed to get 3 make up bags and 3 lip balms for £6 instead of full price £27

I was desperate for a Mr frosty. Got given. One finally by a flat mate for my 21st birthday (so a long wait) and it was shit. Could not grind ice down into slushy stuff at all. I made one teeny tiny pile of ice whixh melted whilst I took a picture and the thing never saw the light of day again.

SOooo disappointing!

Huge thanks to whirlwind. I haven't bought my dc much this year as they get so much crap stuff from our family that I cannot bear to have any more in the house and they are too young to notice

We wanted to buy them a big present to share that will last and can be used outside so got that big aquaplay set for £45. Looks like a great price and good reviews. We hadn't heard of it before and had planned on making something similar ourselves with guttering and things so this is perfect.

Our DC are on the very young side for it at 1 and 3, but 3yo will love it and 1 yo doesn't know she is meant to get presents so it will be fine. Now just some stocking fillers and books each and we are done. Thanks again Flowers

Last year we enjoyed reading stick man after watching it on BBC 1 on Christmas day. This year I have bought Highway Rat as it is the one that they are doing. (Julia Donaldson is great anyway, but the animations are lovely for young children)

Also part of the 3 for £10 promotion of you need any other books, but only £3.85.

BULK BUY ADVENT CALENDARS

Someone was asking a few threads ago about buying advent calendars in bulk. Amazon have 11 Maltesers calendars for £9.99 right now on offer... which is a billy bargain!

unicornsarenotjustforchristmas · 07/11/2016 06:28

Thank you so much for the famous five into! Just ordered the brexit book for my dsis. She's going to love it!
Also rather tempted to get "the teenager who came to tea" for dd's 13th birthday in January

Clickclickclick · 07/11/2016 06:34

I had a Mr Frostie as a kid. It was shit and I only played with it once.

RoastieToastieReastie · 07/11/2016 07:09

I always wanted a mr Frostie as a child but was never given one then my spoilt sister got one and it turned out it was so much work crushing the ice it wasn't worth bothering.

Cookie The Highway Rat won't be on tv until next year, you will have to save your book for then!

d270r0 · 07/11/2016 07:22

Oh I really want to buy 11 maltesers advent calendars for £9.99- such a good deal- but what would I do with them! I. MUST. NOT. BUY.

herecomesthsun · 07/11/2016 07:31

malteasers advent calendars would be great for a food bank. It has been said in previous years that this sort of thing is very welcomed.

Although I never buy chocolate calendars for my own kids, so maybe I shouldn't for someone else's?

Oreocrumbs · 07/11/2016 07:53

Excellent idea to donate the calendars to the food bank!

Herecomesthesun I wouldn't worry about people who don't want to give their kids chocolate/donating to a food bank. If there is someone who doesn't want it, I'm sure they will just decline it and another person will have it.

But I think adding 'christmas treats' as well as essentials would be a nice boost at this time of year.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 07/11/2016 08:01

Thanks for all the Harry Potter bits!

Annoyingly it's for my friends (little for her age) 7yo which really seems to be pushing it for sizes!

Has anyone seen a Harry Potter blanket for a good price? I'm sure someone mentioned them from primark but I've been to 4 (inc the two massive ones in Oxford st) and no luck!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 07/11/2016 08:05

Unfortunately I wouldn't bank on the HP blanket from Primark.

When we checked our store the very nice shop assistant said everywhere was sold out and they didn't now when or if they would get any more.

People were selling them on eBay for ridiculous profits. Some 3 or 4 times more at least than the selling price.

Freezingwinter · 07/11/2016 08:17

APocketfulOfStars · 07/11/2016 08:45

Is anyone else having problems checking out with Next? From yesterday afternoon, every time I go to edit my basket/check out, it says there's an error and they're trying to fix it and try again later. Is it just me?

Tiggles · 07/11/2016 09:01

Many thanks to whoever posted about the G15 Meccano Robot being only £60 back on a thread in September (usually £160). Mine has just been dispatched by Amazon and is arriving tomorrow Grin. That is my best bargain of the year as was never going to buy it full price and boys had given up asking me.

shash1982 · 07/11/2016 09:23

Never got a Mr Frosty but my friend did & I was so jealous. Until I saw how rubbish it was!Wink

Toys r us have lowered a lot of their prices btw.

wyldstile · 07/11/2016 09:26

Kerrier the soft pikachu toys from china linked in the 2nd post of the thread are total bargains. If you're quick you might still be in time?
