I've got DD a beautiful Harry Potter charm bracelet from Etsy for about a tenner. It's not 'official' so no 9 3/4 charm for example but lots of relevant ones and DD will love it. There's loads of sellers doing them and lots of different versions. Mine was from a seller in Poland.

Thanks fir the Argos info whatdoesaturkeydo, no cd storybooks in my area again

Did more wrapping today and I'd say I'm about 75% wrapped now.

Definitely feel more festive now with the Christmas adverts starting and daily channel 5 daytime Christmas films, might have to break out my Christmas CDs soon :)

eeep I need about 8 small things (less than £5) for a 20-month old girl - her brothers say cost isn't as important as having the same amount of gifts to open!

so to get hers to "ballance" I need 8 things to wrap.

and there I thought I was more or less done too!

Hi, i saw someone upthread posted about 40% off at GAP? I signed up for the newsletter but it only gave me a 20% code but would really like 40% off as i'm buying a new coat!

Anyone have a code i can use pretty please?

GlowWine · 06/11/2016 19:31

wornoutboots I had to do that for one of my DDs once, not because I believe in the principle but because she was counting everything and even remembered how many the other had received on her last birthday months ago! So I ended up wrapping a boxed set of books individually - an instant boost by about 8or12 items for about 5.99 or whatever the deal from book people was Grin. And they usually have worthwhile sets of picture books for little ones.

DubiousCredentials · 06/11/2016 19:42

Just wanted to share dds first ever handwritten Christmas list! Thankfully due to you lot I've got most of the stuff on the list bar the kinetic sand and barbie so if anyone has any good deals on those I'd be eternally grateful! I managed to talk her out of the puppy thing after reading some reviews on it!

wornoutboots try Sainsburys if you have a decent one nearby.

They seem to have some nice toys aimed at under 3s that are very reasonable. And they often seem to have sales on - although their big toy discount week has gone it's their nectar points double up thing very soon. And even beyond that, especially their own brands they often seem to reduce them quite a bit.

AdmiralCLingus · 06/11/2016 20:13

It does feather .... I think it's a game she's seen on TV?

If anyone has an awkward big present to wrap, I've just seen this big jolly plastic Santa Sack with a draw cord at the top for a pound in The Works. Might save some time/and or cursing late on Christmas Eve Xmas Grin

And I think that B&M have got their festive bin bags in again (santa, xmas pud) which aren't quite as thick so you'd need 2 or to line with a normal bin bag first, but if you have several awkward things to wrap, they too could be handy...

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 06/11/2016 20:28

I feel that I should do my annual public service announcement to all those buying playmobil sets for the first time : make the sets up before the day. It does make wrapping harder but means you get to enjoy the rest of the day without having an impatient child getting increasingly frustrated as you try to put the toy together from fourteen different plastic bags of parts which need to be simultaneously open rather than systematically worked through.
