So what are your 7-8yo girls asking for this year?

DD is 7, she's a bit of a tomboy in her tastes (i hate that word, but you know what i mean by it) and definitely not a princess kind of girl. She doesn't do jewellery, princess dresses or makeup

She did halloween dressed as the Transformer Bumblebee amongst her gaggle of Elsas and pink witches..

She loves the lego movie, bikes, scooters..etc. She loves Pokemon, Minecraft and My Little Pony.

She wants a hatchimal, but i am not paying that much for something!

I feel a bit at a loss of what to get her.

If she doesn't already read the Tiffany Aching series of Pratchett books, she'll love it. There's even beautifully illustrated versions of them.

DD (7 in the new year) has asked for
iPad
hatchimal (HOW much?! they're like £100 on amazon Shock)
craft stuff
books

Have added a few things to her amazon wish list from this thread, thank you ladies!

7 seems a tricky age - as a pp put it, outgrown princesses and all that jazz but not yet really into anything else.

Supergraph
Playmobil zoo and various animal families

DVDs
Books
Crocodile dentist
Soggy doggy game
Little live pets
Gymnastic leotards
Snowboard lessons
Mr frosty
Nerf guns
Xshot bug attack

I admire their optimism as they most definitely won't be getting all of their list but hopefully will give some others an idea!

Also, some other presents that have been appreciated over the last year or 2 are:
Science kit
Lab coat and goggles
Sewing machine
Proper camera (gets used loads)
Heelies
Karaoke machine
Perfume - went for Victoria's Secret PINK. Bit more grown up but still age appropriate

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 08/11/2016 18:48

My almost 8 year old has asked for
Yokai watch and medals
Teen titans graphic novels (have also got her adventure time, power puff girls, scooby doo team up)
Large tsum tsum
Shopkins and shoppie doll
Secret life of pets dvd
Zootropolis dvd
Mashems
Poncho
Furry hat scarf thing
Finding dory dvd
Pokemon book
Beano comics

We are planning on getting her a kindle fire to help her with school work and to read on :)

If you dd likes graphic novels I recommend dolltopia - dd loved it and it sends a great message that you don't have to be the same as everyone else.

Can anyone recommend a science kit for this age group?!

margaritasbythesea · 13/11/2016 12:25

I want to know that too.
