When we were kids, mum always made fudge for grandma and stuffed dates for grandpa.
Am just trying to make a list of stuff to get this week and can't think what treats to buy, for those afternoons in front of the TV/playing with new toys.

So what do you all have in to munch on?

Gallons of champagne.

Huge box of Hotel Chcolat Christmas chocolates - I buy these and wrap them up, labelled 'for everyone' 'from Santa'. Expensive, but they are absolutely gorgeous - and there will be 9 of us (although we try and steer the children towards their own chocolates!)

Oh, and did I mention champagne?

DimpledThighs · 18/12/2006 09:42

moondog - am jealous of your turkish treats (again!) and amazed you banished the roses (if only..).

Would love to see wine ponce thread - where is it?

Oh yeah we will have the cheese thing from riverford as well (just didn't count it as foodie treat )

How long do you wait unitl you weigh yourself in new year?

DimpledThighs · 18/12/2006 09:43

We've got the Cadbury biscuit box too, Frau.
Got it from the Britannia Delicatessen, Saturated Fat and Pastry Emporium at the strip mall so it must be pucker.

DimpledThighs · 19/12/2006 00:00

have I missed something about cadbury biscuit boxes?

Why do you have to make sure they are maed in the uk?

so is america making chocolate to look like cadbury? That sounds very strange!

I agree that american chocolate is not nice SO sweet - I have to send stuff out to my brother over there!

Don't know if its ok to advertise an individual business on here so forgive me if its not but I've found the most amazing confectioary place for the sweety lovers among you. Try
www.peppercorncottage.co.uk

They do the most delicious chocolate liquers, turkish delight etc. They are quite pricey but soooo good. What is really lovely as well is the way the sweets are presented in little caskets like a mini treasure chest and all decorated with ribbon etc for Christmas. Might be too late for this Christmas but you would have to check this out.
