What have you bought for the stockings?

I am the queen of plastic tat for stockings: it must keep them busy for a while as we don't do main presents until after breakfast, there must be an element of usefulness in at least one component, there must be chocolate coins, a Satsuma and a walnut.

This year I've gone for puzzles:

each one will get (as well as coins, Satsuma, nut)
a rubiks cube (not official)
a rubiks snake (not official)
a chinese puzzle box
a purse
a memory stick
a miniature Baymax nightlight (not official)

then depending on age/likes and dislikes they will get token socks or pants, lipbalm, a colouring book, some pens, some perfume, some post it notes and gel pens, toiletries etc.

This for five girls between 11 and 18. I have tried to keep it below £10 each but have gone over (£15) for a couple of them this year.

What do you put in your stockings?

NCIS how about earphones for their stockings?

haggisaggis · 16/12/2015 16:49

OK - my mum may be staying with us on Christmas Eve (first Christmas after my dad died). The DCs are doing dh and my stockings - what can I get for dm? So far have a handwarmer, a glove ice scraper for her car, furry ear warmers & Turksh delight. Need another 2 -3 (cheap!) things.

Adds earphones to Amazon basket, Thanks NBUSFP

A magazine
Starbucks gift card £5
Scratch card
Tights or socks
Hand cream
Cheap paperback
Small bottle of liquer

Anything there ???

SatsukiKusakabe · 16/12/2015 16:57

That list was for haggisaggis's Mum, sorry Grin

haggisaggis · 16/12/2015 17:01

She doesn't really do Starbucks, has a Kindle, doesn't drink since dad died...toiletries might work if I can find something nice (her friends give her Molton Brown stuff for her birthday / Christmas - too pricey for me for her stocking). Thanks for the ideas though!

No prob Xmas Smile didn't realise you were referring to me - not accustomed to my festive name! Xmas Blush

SatsukiKusakabe · 16/12/2015 17:35

I'm getting dh a e-voucher for kindle in his. Acrylic keyrings with kids on always go down well with my lot, less than 2 in tesco.

Good luck, my mum would be a nightmare to do a stocking for actually, she'd mainly like practical stuff though I think.

scleich figures

loads of choclate, tubes, kinder things

a wind up minion toy each

some small puzzle things for older

and moving fuzzy caterpiller things and jumping beans for younger

DH just phoned me from Sainsburys, apparently the Lego Mixels are down to £2 so he's stocking up (see what I did there?)
