Presents for 9 year old girls?

They are twins, one is very girly and one is quite tomboy-ish.

Any ideas?

My 9 year old, is not really girly or tomboy-ish, but here are some things that she is getting and/or has enjoyed or expressed an interest in:

Fimo
Fountain pen/nice stationery
Nano blocks
'Grown up' colouring in books and pens
MP3 player
New rollerblades
Board games: Cludeo, Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne etc
Snap Circuits
Cosy clothes
Subscription to a comic or magazine (eg The Phoenix).

Also for smaller presents, the "Klutz" books are good and come in girly and less girly versions...

My daughter is 8 and this is the first year where i literally have no idea what to get her. She is at that awkward stage where she doesn't really play with toys but is not a teenager yet.
I have just ordered her a pair of Sorel boots and a Harry Potter dvd and book sets.
I am planning on getting her a tablet so she stops using my phone,fuji instax camera, a necklace with her name and a Descendant doll.
Clotheds and sweets are added every year anyway.

I got a bedside lamp for reading with (at the time in fashion with her) Moshi Monsters lampshade which she loved. Fuzzy blankets are good too.

Looking at this with interest!
My DD has asked for animal blow pens
Going to get her a set of Walkie talkies (for camping etc)
New leotard for gymnastics
She wants a 3D maker set, not sure about this, mixed reviews on Amazon
She needs new dancing shoes so those will be included
Got her some little hand warmers which she mentioned the other day.
I bought her the sweetest money box, which has a little cats paw that takes the money!
Might get her some grumpy cat stuff, like their calendar, she is cat mad so can always get cat themed stuff!

Like other poster said, in between age so it will be a mixed bag of a few toys.

What's the budget? If generous, Coolpix waterproof and drop proof (to 1.5m they say) cameras - come in various colours.

I bought a couple of handmade bags from Devilishly Detailed which I intend to pop some lip salve, tiny notelets etc into for my twin nieces. They were made to order to my choice of fabric but ready within a day!

My dd is almost 9 and has been super easy to buy for this year! She's definitely not a girly girl either.

She having light up roller skates and matching bag, coding book, hex bugs and track, Harry Potter...colouring book, books, top trumps, Fluffy.

DD(9) gave me her list after I'd done most of my shopping this year (aaargh!) so hopefully it'll be more help to you than it was to me!!!

Slightly random, but mine is the same age and one of the things I have for her is a soap carving set. I got her some tools, a book and a bunch of cheap bars of soap. She loves experimenting with craft and I think this is something different that she'll really get a kick out of. Plus, gotta be easier to clear up than Playdo, surely?

We're getting ours Heeley's to replace her old ones, the complete set of Dork Diary books and Ariana Grande perfume and that's it!!! She's so hard to buy for this year

I've been browsing for ideas for DD (who is 9 next week, so b'day and Christmas to buy for) and your soap carving idea sounds perfect Kurius! I make my own goat's milk soap so have stacks of it sitting around and would happily let her loose on it. Do you mind me asking which book you got? And how sharp are the tools?

Other things we're giving her are a Raspberry Pi 2 and coding book, a Minecraft Enderdragon soft toy, Minecraft t-shirt, Malory Towers box set, Blu-Tack (on her Christmas list!), an origami book and the Strictly annual.

I see that one might not arrive in time, but other sellers may be more local and get it to you on time. Check eBay as well.

Artful can't link at the moment, but both were from Amazon. The book is Soap Carving for Children of All Ages - bit old fashioned looking but looks clear enough to follow. The tools are called Am-Tech Wax Carving Set - they were surprisingly sturdy looking but not sharp.

My daughter actually expressed an interest in wood-carving! Ur... no. I thought this would be a good halfway step.

Not my own but for friends kids I have recently bought Shopkins, Moshi monsters and Lego friends for ones that still "play" and for the more "grown up/girly" girls bits from Accessorize/Claire's such as earrings, bracelets, Lush bath bombs, little handbags and purses from River Island kids, and they all seem to love funky stationary like scented pens, little notepads etc and little nail polishes with nail stickers.

Not exciting but New Look vouchers also go down a storm as they are all starting to pick out their own clothes

Oh and those little animal hand warmers, ear muffs and nice hat/gloves sets

My DD is 9. No list this year, she doesn't know what she wants herself! Only thing she asked for is Lego Elves Castle. Other bits finding their way into the stocking are:

Aahh, thought of something else. I found a great stocking filler- shower cap in the shape of a crown! Perfect for the little princess who seems to have taken over the bathroom!!!
