This looks quite good, Mary?
www.magazine.co.uk/news-and-current-affairs-magazines/the-week-magazine

MaryMagdelene · 16/11/2015 10:31

Thanks CR that looks like a great deal. Great site as well I might get my own kids the National Geographic subscription. My worry with The Week is that the news would be mostly UK based and we're not in the UK. I like the look of Mental Floss. He loves lists and things so it looks right up his street. It's pricey though

ExploraDora · 16/11/2015 10:37

I read Mental Floss on the Readly app, so I wasn't aware it was quite so expensive, sorry! I find the week has quite a lot of world news normally, but it does get quite UK heavy when there is a big event/election.

MaryMagdelene · 16/11/2015 11:27

ThanksDora. I'm thinking of getting him a subscription for 3 issues and buying the current one to attach it to and then a few stocking fillers. You've been great Flowers

Ineedahug · 16/11/2015 11:44

Thanks for the Sylvanian posts! Getting a little obsessed now and cursing my mother for not holding onto any of my old stuff!

bluesky · 16/11/2015 11:50

zipzap thanks for tip about the rubiks cubes, I had no idea the larger ones existed!

PipersOrange · 16/11/2015 11:54

Can't see if it's already been mentioned bit lidl have an amazing selection of wooden toys today; dolls houses and cars and train tracks.

EmGee · 16/11/2015 12:13

Anyone have a deal on an annual subs to The Week magazine?

SconeForAStroll · 16/11/2015 12:37

Rant alert.

Angry

Why the hell cant Argos organise their website so that an item that is on special offer and therefore out of stock everywhere I can think of, is shown as such? Or better yet, tell us where it is in stock because I don't think it is, I think they are lying the bastards

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 16/11/2015 12:39

Thanks for the nails inc link, bought one for my niece and one for sister in law.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 16/11/2015 12:40

I saw The Week in the Tesco club card boost earlier today if that's any use?

Joycey29 · 16/11/2015 12:49

Have Boden £10 voucher
Pm if you want but post to say you have so I know and other people do too Thanks

d270r0 · 16/11/2015 12:49

Tolberone, do you definitely want an actual car hoover- only I use a mini handheld dyson which is fantastic for cleaning out the car as you don't need to plug it in and its small and lightweight. And yiu can use it in the house too, great for stairs, spiders webs, crumbs all over the sofa from a toddler, etc.

Pooseyfrumpture · 16/11/2015 12:51

Just been to Lidl - they have lots of wooden stuff in, including a very bargainous dolls house. Looked very good quality.

Also went to Aldi and saw the biscuit tins - someone was setting them all off Grin I got a rotating musical biscuit tin for £3.99.

randomcatname · 16/11/2015 12:56

My superhero minion team have arrived from alliexpress and they are soooo cute. Very pleased with the quality. ds will be delighted.

BicycleMadeForTwo · 16/11/2015 12:58

I'd love the boden voucher if you still have it. Can't pm (have contacted mnhq) no worries if it's gone. Never got one myself despite emailing.

AFingerofFudge · 16/11/2015 12:59

Joycey have pm'd you re the Boden voucher. Don't worry if it's gone, just thought I'd chance my arm as I seem to be the only one who hasn't received one! (rooted through the recycling to find the Christmas catalogue but no voucher attached!)

And scone I feel your pain re Argos. During the 3 for 2 toys, there was hardly any stock at our local store, even at the start of the offer!

OhHolyFuck · 16/11/2015 13:14

My aliexpress paw patrol toys came today - they look great, in boxes and all 6 for less than £15

Joycey29 · 16/11/2015 13:20

Finger - it's all yours will pm back once home

Joycey29 · 16/11/2015 13:21

Bicycle - think I have a second - can you receive pms?

BicycleMadeForTwo · 16/11/2015 13:24

Aw if you do have another one that would be great. Thanks! Yeah I can receive pm's just can't reply. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon. Thanks again.

PresidentUnderwood · 16/11/2015 13:25

Was someone looking for gingerbread pattern plastic bowls and plates from pound land? Been into my local one this morning and they have lots, happy to buy and post

LexLoofah · 16/11/2015 13:30

doistay my MIL is the same so I do her a little stocking with practical bits and pieces that won't hang around forever or take up much room like a reminders/shopping list, pen, nice lip balm etc and this year have got her a hyacinth bulb kit with a lovely ceramic bowl - that she could re-use for something else or give away when the bulbs are done.

mary Aquila is also a good mag but mine is 8 so not sure about 13 yo

thanks for the earlier posts about Harry Potter illustrated book, it arrived today and is gorgeous, also thanks for mentioning Paw Patrol busy book, DD will love it
