A tea pot for a 16 yo?

Not strictly Christmas but dd is 16 two days after and she's a real tea Jenny.

Anyone suggest a nice teapot /mug or cup and tea gift set for her?

I've got my eye on a tea forte set but I thought I'd ask for ideas too.

Look out for a nice cosy, that could make all the difference to how it looks and functions - cath Kidston? She is a girl after my own heart!

16 year old me would have loved a teapot / book /chocolate set you wouldn't have seen me all Christmas.

The tea for one pots are too small. That girl can drink tea.

ah, 18 year old me bought the perfect 2.5 mug purple teapot for about £6, and I still love it more than my posher ones.

I would favour a nice, perfectly proportioned pot and a pair of mugs rather than a gift set. And the pot needs to hold at least 2 cups. Denby have a nice range of mugs.

I do like the Alice in wonderland one.

The concept is beautiful, but my flatmate had a glass one and it discoloured and went dull with limescale really quickly. Don't know how common that is. If you've used glass teapots happily for years, ignore me. I think getting "grown up" kitchen equipment it's nice to have something solid and practical, hence my love for my generic perfectly proportioned bog standard cadbury purple one.

I do like the Alice in Wonderland one, and it should be fairly easy to find some pretty blue and white mugs.

RJ Yes, the T2 one does work. Beautiful to behold, too. Some of their teas, cups, strainers and so on are also very nice.

I don't drink tea. Well only peppermint flung in my mug. I might avoid the glass then - it's so pretty though. The T2 is glas too mind you but I am off to check the rest of the site out.

They also gift wrap in Japanese style papers, and have a line in matcha (sp) tea that my DD is yearning after (also a tea loving girl, similar age).

The Stump teapot from Forlife is the best teapot around and rapidly becoming an industry standard for restaurants/cafes that do loose leaf tea. It's basically unbreakable, really hard to chip, completely dishwasher safe, easy to clean, doesn't drip and comes in a massive range of colours-and stackable, in case you need more than one. It holds about 600ml which is roughly 2.5 cups/one very large mug.

I would get her one and a nice tea from Jeeves and Jericho, it's an independent tea company based in Oxford.

The museums locally to me all sell fresh tea leaf tea in a pot and I've always loved it so much that I looked up the company on the bottom of the pots and asked for one for christmas last year.
