This year I'm thinking of trying out black Kraft paper decorated with chalkboard markers - I've attached the pic that inspired me, just found randomly on Google Images - and gold accents. Previous years I've done brown paper with greenery, stripes with a candy cane tied on, etc. I thought this would be good as I don't have to worry about tags - although I am making matching tags for the bottles of homemade booze Xmas Grin

What about everyone else?

For stocking presents I pick a cheap wrapping paper for each child, usually Spider-Man for DS and frozen for DD and they get wrapped as quickly as I can get away with, no tags or names.

Then the "main" presents from us are wrapped nicely in my kids theme with tags and adults get full on poncy wrapping.

I never get to open any of the poncy presents though. Might have to wrap as well as buy my own this year Grin.

There are so many great ideas on here I think I'm sorted for wrapping themes for a good few years!

Two years ago I went everywhere looking for christmas carol wrapping paper, I couldn't print it big enough so I made bows and labels from it. Then last year asda was selling this, so I bought a stash which will probably be my theme the year after next!

I love a poncy present!! I love to wrap. This year everyone has brown paper with foil 25ths on them, got it 5 rolls for £2 in a christmas shop, and then to keep them all together Jute bags from well known supermarkets!! Im not spending money on gift bags when the jute shoppers are cheaper!! I'm a poncer on a budget!! Then the tags are handsewn felt stockings with intials on and a tiny present in.

Dd has a handmade big stocking but she is small and doesnt care really so she has picked her own paper, it has bears on. She is 2 and kept going "i like bears mama, we buy bears? I love those bears mama"
the inlaws are as above but minus the stockings because they dont appreciate them. One year i made decorations to go on the presents and they threw them away in front of me. Even if you dont like it, pretend until I go home.

I've got Peppa pig paper bought last January for DS. last year I had lovely vintage style Santa paper from M&s and the year before that it was all brown patterned paper from Ikea. I think metallic paper needs bows and ribbon to set it off but you need to keep it simple with brown paper. Twine or a very plain ribbon.
I think this year I'd like white and silver, with stars or snowflakes.

I have trouble finding a lovely pearlescent white..so if anyone sees any let me know and I will stock up for the year after next . 're wrapping stocking presents..did not have wrapped as a childbirth then we had stockings on our beds. We decided with Dd to start tradition of leaving stocking by fireplace and she unwrapped a present from us first then her stocking present. Wrapping stocking presents in tissue paper is easy and cheap.

I wrap stocking presents from Father Christmas in tissue paper too. I stock up in January sales when packs are selling for pennies. Usually doesn't even need tape unless it's an awkward shape, and of course looks very different from presents from us or others.

This year I'm doing brown parcel paper, with a paper snowflake stuck on. Then I have a mixture of twine, red velvet ribbon, other ribbons, mini bells... Then I have brown luggage tags and alphabet rubber stamps and black ink to stamp the recipients name on.

I do love a theme Grin yes, I do have too much time on my hands!
