Lego made me chuckle with her comment about sleep shopping in the last thread!

For all info see next post for links etc and let me know if a link doesn't work or a code is no longer valid or if I've missed something good Thanks

Do you think it would be mildly cross compatible with playmobil?

I also pondered on the dinosaur rescue station thing, then decided dd has enough!

Nc19999992 · 21/10/2015 12:50

Oh and these were 6.49 each

curlingandtwirling · 21/10/2015 12:52

Maybe I have given Sainsbury's a rough review? I admit I was looking for older DCs.

On the plus side, 25% off TU from 27th so all is forgiven.

PjDay · 21/10/2015 13:03

I had pj's in my trolly then I remembered about next weeks 25% off Curling so I will be back next week too!

OverScentedFanjo · 21/10/2015 13:17

Yes, I'm waiting for the tu 25% off too!

cadidog · 21/10/2015 13:17

jumpinghoops I went to Sainsbos for Thomas stuff and sadly they had none of the wooden train sets. I bought a die cast Gordon for £3.35 which will go on the track. I'm going to wait for the 25% off to buy some Thomas pj's as they have a cute set that comes with socks.

jumpinghoops · 21/10/2015 13:22

Gah- no Bosch tool kits at ours, only the work bench (19.99). Picked up barbie car for 9.49, barbie doll+unicorn for 12.50 and a few books. And a little take and play train to keep DS busy on the way home.

jumpinghoops · 21/10/2015 13:25

Thanks Cadidog- if you see any wooden Thomas at good prices could you let me know? I'll post on here too if I find any!

MrsMoggy · 21/10/2015 13:35

What take and play stuff was there at Sainsbury's if anybody noticed please? Also what sort of prices were orchard games? Thanks

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 21/10/2015 13:39

We went to Sainsbury was lunchtime and mega busy elbows were needed we got a Lego set only £5 off so was £20 but ds used some birthday money. Got Scooby doo set for 6.99, a toot toot cow n baby for £6.65, several Spiderman hot wheels £1.25 each and normal hot wheels 75p each, hot wheels are great for stocking or little rewards for spelling tests.

CRtester · 21/10/2015 13:39

I'm also looking for Thomas things, so will keep an eye out. I'm getting a bit confused though. There are so many different types of train / track etc. We've got a wooden set compatible with brio etc. I've just bought a take n play train from the Sainsburys sale. I've just read somewhere that it's not compatible with the wooden tracks. Anyone know if this is true?

Also I'd really like a battery operated train to go on the wooden track. Where can I find one? Tia

brightandshiney · 21/10/2015 13:45

We received our Wilbur Penguin today from British Gas. Worth tweeting them with #NoPlaceLikeHome. I tweeted a photo of my DD and asked nicely...worth a try!

They sell battery operated trains on amazon for wooden track but they never seem to reduce them! I've been watching them for ages. Read through reviews as a few of them don't seem to be able to make it up hills very well. I thought the one that looks best is the brio locomotive but its about £14-£15.

Letustryagain · 21/10/2015 13:54

I've been very good and managed to avoid creating a fake meeting in my calendar so that I can nip to the Sainsburys sale... I really don't need ANYTHING this year as DD is getting a Smart TV/DVD Combi. She's only 6 but I KNOW she won't actually watch it in her bedroom on her own, it's more for when she has friends around, BUT she seriously has so much stuff that we wanted to get something that will last her.

She's asked for an Our Generation doll from Santa so that is ordered with Amazon (while it was cheap - but they're waiting for the stock...) and she's asked for a nice mirror for her desk and some little make-up bits. Anyone seen any nice child-friendly bits? I don't really wear make-up much as I work from home and don't go out very often (I'm not a recluse honestly...), but what I have got is quite pricey. She wants bits to just play dress-up really. Also we do need to get her a new hairdryer.

Also I might have posted this on the very first Bargain thread for the year, but I bought some of these lovely Xmas brooches, very reasonable and lovely quality when they arrive. I might have bought 6 different ones... Blush

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009O8H7K0?keywords=christmas%20brooches&qid=1445432002&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Free UK delivery aswell. This Xmas Tree one is particularly lovely!

IAmAPaleontologist · 21/10/2015 14:00

I have tweeted them loads NoMan! I sent them a picture of dd's fluffy baby penguin Findus who she is desperate to get a family for :(

Might have to try again.

ItStillLooksLikeRainDear · 21/10/2015 14:03

my friend Cayla price drop £30 at the moment.

Pigleychez · 21/10/2015 14:07

Another one for the toy sale this morning. Agree there was tons for younger kids. Lovely little wooden kitchens and wooden tea sets.
Resisted lego as got the large lego box of bricks from Tesco recently website when it was on offer.
Came away with a talking hulk for my friends little boys birthday soon.

Went after school this morning as did half the town! Too crowded to look properly really so end in Costa with a hot choc and giant tea cake! ??

ChipperNipper · 21/10/2015 14:08

I also didn't get tockets to Alice in Wonderland Sad

FeelingSmurfy · 21/10/2015 14:11

The magnetic die cast Thomas trains don't fit onto the wooden track properly, they are a bit too narrow, but manage to be pushed about ok.

They have their own track, but it's very plasticky and flimsy and really I wouldn't bother having another set of track.

We have a brio battery train and he chugs about slowly. But is ok. He has a headlight and is ok up hills unless he has carriages then he doesn't like the hills, he gets slower and slower and stops. The reviews are poor, but we find it ok. Eats batteries, but fun to see him chug around the track. He is also taller than other brio trains so some bridges are a problem, but it's fun trying to work out a track pattern that he can chug around.

thetimeisnow · 21/10/2015 14:16

No panto tickets for us either Sad, dd is at uni in Cardiff so was dreaming of making a nice weekend of it.

Kriek · 21/10/2015 14:18

Hello, I don't usually post on the Christmas threads but I do follow. Anyway, I have a code for £20 off a Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon. If anyone wants it then PM me and I can forward it on. I am not able to use it and it seems a shame to waste it.

:)

TimeForCake · 21/10/2015 14:18

For those hunting for wooden Thomas engines, try thomas2u.co.uk Not always bargainous but they do have a couple of sections where you might get a deal. One has reductions for damaged packaging & the other for no box/packaging. If you want stocking fillers then no packaging is fine! They have all the latest engines from new films etc. I have used them a few times & have always been pleased.
They also have a child friendly section where there's info/ pictures of all the engines which DS used to love. Worth a look imo.
