Am so excited to be taking my son to see The Snowman Ballet! I will also book a Fc trip and looking at a Christmas play for preschoolers at our local theatre too. What have you booked?

mappemonde · 29/09/2015 21:31

We have booked ice skating and Fr Christmas at Eden, carols in the cathedral and a panto. A local farm does a reindeer set up and tableau with mulled wine and mince pies where you can buy wreaths etc so will go to that at some point too.

CrabbyPatties · 29/09/2015 22:45

Thanks to those who recommended Harry Potter studios at Christmas, I've checked out the pics and booked to go late November - so excited!
Just need to book a restaurant or afternoon tea in London to make out weekend complete, any recommendations for christmassy places would be very welcome!

Sleepingbunnies · 29/09/2015 22:48

Panto first week of Dec and Disney on ice on Xmas Eve! Can't wait! Grin

Pobspits · 29/09/2015 22:53

Need to book Panto!

Ds's birthday party and actual birthday.

Dh birthday meal out.

MiL birthday celebrations.

Too many birthdays!!!!

am also planning on going to xmas fair at local stately home, watching the Santa parade and Xmas light switch on and popping through to Edinburgh to see the lights and maybe the Santa run and ice rink.

Am also hoping maybe Dh and I could have a day shopping in Glasgow but I don't know how because usually I'm finished shopping by November

Pobspits · 29/09/2015 23:02

We have recently been to Disney on Ice. I loved it Blush like really loved it! Dd (just 5) enjoyed it but it was longer than she'd like to sit still for tbh! I didn't take ds(8) because he was busy with something else but I don't think he'd have enjoyed it that much tbh.

GobShites · 30/09/2015 00:10

These all sound great. Does anybody have any suggestions for things to do with a just turned 3 year old in Manchester.
Thank you

Hi all, I love Christmas and this I my first as a mummy, I know at three month she wont know anything....but has anyone any baby friendly Christmas activities??

ChristmasZombie · 30/09/2015 10:04

We're going to Santa's Winter Wonderland at the Snowdome in Tamworth. Did it last year, too!

I might take the girls to the light switch on in town, if I can be bothered to deal with the crowds.

I wanted to take them to see Santa at a local garden centre, but it's sold out already. There's a children's farm about an hour's drive away that does a Nativity trail. Might try that instead. And we'll visit the German Christmas Market in Birmingham (maybe without the toddler!).

MrsPear · 01/10/2015 16:47

I have booked Santa train at spa valley. Am going to make it a surprise. Never done anything big before - usually go to see the lights being switched on or the local hospice - and am quite excited.

dingit · 01/10/2015 17:34

Would you recommend Xmas at kew, those who have done it?

Stitchosaurus · 01/10/2015 20:39

Going to a carol concert at our local theatre, normally go to the carols by candlelight at the Albert Hall with my whole family but not sure that's happening this year.
Seeing Father Christmas at Legoland for the first time, have heard good things so am hoping it lives up to it!
Panto after Christmas.
And then nutcracker on ice. Love Christmas and can't wait for it all to start Xmas Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 01/10/2015 20:41

dingit I haven't been. Have read mixed reviews.

AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 01/10/2015 21:30

I have also read mixed reviews re Kew.

milkmilklemonade12 · 02/10/2015 16:54

september I booked tickets in April this year the day the tickets came out.

Snausage · 02/10/2015 17:26

I am going with DS, (1 year old) a friend and her DS on the Spa Valley Santa Special, too, MrsPear. I've never been either, but it looks lovely! I've also booked tickets to see Father Christmas at Penshurst Place with another friend and her twins. My DS won't have a clue, but it will be nice anyway Smile

PesoPenguin · 02/10/2015 17:33

We've not booked anything but we'll have lots of nice days out, they'll just be low key ( in part due to living waaaay up north and there not being all these lovely places that are being talked about nearby!). We'll definitely go to a carol service, visit Santa, etc and will hopefully go the the Manchester Christmas markets, and do some pottery painting with ds's cousins. We're having a few Christmas parties in our new house too which is even more exciting to DS than trips out.

chelsbells · 02/10/2015 18:37

My mum has bought us tickets to go see Miracle on 34th Street at the theatre! It's end of November so will get us in the Christmas mood slightly earlier this year but I cannot wait! Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 02/10/2015 18:56

Wow chela I want to go!

NeverNic · 02/10/2015 21:29

Mrs Pear - we did that last year. It was magical and the Groombridge Bakery mince pies you get on board are delicious! Our train keen son didn't want to see father Christmas at TWells as he was too interested in seeing the engine. We have some wonderful photos too. Contemplating going again, but I might see if they are doing anything between Christmas and new year as a day out instead

We are doing Harry Potter on the 27th- I am positively fizzing with excitement, 11 yo DS is a bit Hmm

Dancergirl · 07/10/2015 09:25

I'm trying to book Disney on Ice at the O2. There doesn't seem to be much availability. I can get row W in block 109, are these really rubbish seats??

mappemonde · 10/10/2015 12:12

Has anyone been to Westonbirt? They've got Christmas stuff on.

snowgirl1 · 10/10/2015 18:17

I've got tickets for us to see The Snowman on the last weekend in November to kick the festive season off; and tickets for the family-friendly performance of The Nutcracker in January. In between we'll go to see the Christmas lights being turned on locally and the local carol singing event. I'll probably squeeze in a visit to a local garden centre to see the Reindeer there and let DD buy a tree decoration. But I've still got to decide where to go to see Father Christmas!
