I know its early but....
I really want to do my M&S order..It isn't available online yet so i went on the online chat to ask when it would be available and was told probably early Nov (!!!!) Thats so late for me! (Im crazy I know)
Hopefully its earlier than that...Maybe they were having a bit of fun at my expense for asking such a question haha!!
Anyways, what will you all be reordering this year? what was yummy and what not so much?
I remember the desserts going down well but not so much the buffet platters (sausage rolls etc) :)

Awwwwwwwwwwww Red that Booths book truely is a thing of beauty Xmas Envy

I am not in the North and I know I could get an order delivered darn sarf
but I couldn't eat most of it anyway

NarcyCow · 10/10/2015 10:40

That wasn't worth the wait. Just as well I was planning to do it all myself this year anyway. Funny, when I read the blog in June I thought it all looked brilliant but now there's nothing much I'd be bothered with.

CJCreggsmyhero · 10/10/2015 11:07

I can't see on Booths website how to get a brochure delivered.

After last years M&S potato-gate incident (roasties were grim) I'm determined to make a mends - but not quite go as far as cook them myself Xmas Grin

MTWTFSS · 10/10/2015 11:35

I am very disappointed with M&S this year :( Mainly as the majority of their desserts are not suitable for vegetarians :(

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2015 20:52

I got me a brochure delivered last year but can't find the link this year!! (I am both NannyPlumForPM and RunawayReindeer for oldtimers) if anyone happens to be toddling past I would be more than happy to pay postage to chez improbable Maison!!

SymphonyofShadows · 18/10/2015 18:29

I'm tempted by Booths but I'm dahn sarf, so I'm a bit too scared to order in case the delivery doesn't turn up!

toomuchinternets · 18/10/2015 22:22

Just placed our order... collection 7am Christmas Eve. First time ever, so feeling a bit nervous will be queuing up outside for hours, (especially as OH will have to get to work) but will be worth it not to have to do any cooking for xmas day/boxing day/27th!

FondantFancy66 · 19/10/2015 08:27

I'm seriously considering doing an M&S Christmas dinner this year. Quick question for those of you who have done it before or already ordered this year, can you add things to your order between ordering and collecting? Like I do with my weekly Tesco shop and amend until the day before? I know which dinner package we want, but not sure if there might be extras we need or fancy depending on what vegetarian family members come. I've seen there's several Christmas eve slots still available at my local store, but some look to have gone, so eager to get ordering.

escape · 19/10/2015 08:47

My experience of ordering/collecting over past 4 years or so - I am always there early, so as to make the most of day - usually 23rd December. I once queued for 1 hr in Doncaster town centre, but since then 2 other options have opened locally for me, I'll be trying the Wheatley Hall Rd store this year as is closest, but new and more accessible I think it will be busier. Apart from the city centre incident - I have always seen that there is so much on the shelves, I could have simply turned up and popped everything in a basket! - Certainly at the Scunthorpe out of town store ( new one, 'Gallagher retail park ' area ) I often collect my order and pick up my extras off the shelves, giving way to being flexible on those.
Based on this, I'm considering not pre-ordering at all this year.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2015 10:42

I've been ordering from M&S for years but only instore. I'm glad they have changed the payment method as they just used to dish it out and you had to go to the food tills to pay. I had some bloke try and pinch the turkey out of my trolley once!

Oldraver · 19/10/2015 14:01

I used to love their stuffed duck...but they have been using a Morello cherry stuffing for the last few years which I dont like.

I had hoped they would change it this year and last year and the year before

SpottyTeacakes · 19/10/2015 14:33

Symphony what is the payment method now?

I went for 8:30 am in the hope it wouldn't be too busy have I made a mistake?! No other shops open until nine and I wanted to have a mooch Costa after with the dc

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2015 15:58

Spotty, in my local one you queue for your food and pay when you collect it at tills that are set up just for the Christmas ordering. Until a few years ago you used to just collect then take it to the food hall to pay. That's when I nearly lost my turkey.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/10/2015 16:16

Oh ok! That does sound like a nightmare. Can't believe someone tried to take your turkey!

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2015 16:44

It was a Christmas Eve pick up and there wasn't much meat left. I think he thought I wasn't looking, I shouted and swore quite a lot! If he hadn't dropped it I would have made a right scene when he tried to pay for it as I had the paperwork. It's entered family folklore now!

Trumpton · 21/10/2015 01:51

fondantfancy yes you can add to your order up to early December. I think I had to phone them to do it .
