I'm so pleased with myself. OK, it could all go horribly wrong if

Argos don't really have a Wii for us
Amazon fk up
John Lewis or Tesco don't deliver

but apart from that, I'm done. Hurrah. I am feeling smug but to mitigate this I would like to point out that I have NEVER done this in my life before. Last year dh did all of it alone more or less. I've just got to wrap them now

I am usually the one running around Oxford street with a crazed look n my face christmas eve. However as I have no idea where we will be living by christmas I thought itwise to get it all out the way early.

HeadlessHorsewoman · 29/11/2006 12:40

I haven't quite finished, but despite a severe attack of skint-ness and having both DDs birthdays in November (how bad was my planning?? Actually, DD1 was due in Dec but came 4 wks early and DD2 was due in Oct - 5 days late) Am admirably ahead of myself. MIL visited from Ireland last week, and has duly returned there this morning with a bag of pressies for brothers/SILs/Neices and herself (and even her annoying partner!) Stocking pressies for my girls currently hiding in wardrobe, electric guitar from gear4music.com (excellent website) arriving 15 Dec, Amazon on its way. Hurrah for me (smug emoticon). Not much left to do...

octobermum · 29/11/2006 12:43

I've finished wrapped, and got 90% of christmas food coming tonight between 8 and 10pm.

DH has just got booze to buy, his only job to do at christmas, as i don't drink.

Also have all birthdays between now and end of January done eg dd.

joelallie · 29/11/2006 12:53

Nearly - just a few more bits to get and I know what all those will be. Some wrapping done. Most cards written. So 90% smug

TinselgalacticWalrus · 29/11/2006 12:59

Done most of mine, and have just ordered DPs main pressie online. Have got all of the children's stuff and stuff for DS1s birthday on Dec 16th.

Need to write cards though, I hate doing that job. It's made a bit more bearable by drinking a nice bottle of red before hand though.

BexieID · 29/11/2006 13:12

Well I think i'm all done. My Fiance on the other hand hasn't got his family anything yet and i'll probably end up doing it for him!

saltire · 29/11/2006 13:16

I have most of mine done. Really just BIL, and DH to get for, although have got part of his.
Just trying to decide if I should wrap stocking fillers or not, i usually do,but feel its just a waste of paper

dmo · 29/11/2006 13:37

ilovecaboose · 29/11/2006 14:03

Too much uni work - being off ill means I have loads to catch up on.

SNOWMANdymoo · 29/11/2006 14:15

all done.

now wheres the fun in that?!

elliepmummy · 29/11/2006 15:55

All done here too (well except my secret santa present for work but will do that on friday) all wrapped and hidden and spent 2 and half hours last night writing xmas cards. Am mainly organised as baby no 2 due on 5th jan and been in hospital already so didnt want to risk it! Although have banned DH from getting decs and trees down from loft until 9/10th dec!!

purpleturtle · 29/11/2006 16:11

Me too - all shopping done. Haven't wrapped it yet, though. Am saving that treat for a lovely Advent evening, carols playing, fire on, and mulled wine to hand.

oneandbump · 29/11/2006 16:40

me too- feel extremely smug!

usually do it early but ds2 is due at xmas this year and ds1 is really into Dr Who and wanted to get them b4 they sold out.

WideWebWitch · 29/11/2006 16:47

Mine are all now wrapped with the exception of

Amazon order yet to arrive (only 4 books though)
Wii, yet to arrive

wrapping stocking fillers is BORING!

MarsLady · 30/11/2006 08:56

Babe I was done a fortnight ago I even bought for my MNers. There were only 2 things that I wanted to get and got those as soon as I had my match. [smugness in the extreme]

wheelybug · 30/11/2006 09:00

I'm almost done and much earlier than normal so feeling VERY pleased with myself. Mind you, most of it is 'virtually' done as in I'm waiting for deliveries so probably shouldn't be too smug yet.

Not done food yet so must start thinking about that and hope I can still get a christmas delivery slot....

joelallie · 30/11/2006 10:29

Now I?ve also written a long-overdue letter to my cousin in south Africa to put in her card ? so that can be sent when I manage to get to the PO. I?ve picked up DH?s main pressie. I?ve placed my Sainsbury christmas food order on 21st. Smug, smug, smuggetty smug?. Oh ?tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la!!!

BTW has anyone managed to buy any christmas stamps? I?ve only tried in shops atm and nada! It seems to be later than normal.

I have done NO Christmas shopping.

I moved last week, and was leaving things until after that, but now there are too many other things to do, dh is away until just before Christmas, and I have no idea when I will get to do any.

I can't send any christmas cards because my address book is in a box, and I don't know which one.

I HAVE ordered the turkey. That's it!
