I'm shamelessly looking for ideas as I have none! Wink

How old are your DC and what are you planning to buy them?

Oh Lucy the dog is fantastic. I bought it the Christmas before last. Surprised the price hasnt come down since then

I really hope so. Have read its not good on voice responses sometimes?

I waited for price to drop it was in tesco for 25 but then everywhere shot up to £40.

But, the older one has loads of stuff and we need to show her FC comes for her sister too.

It's August ffs!

CookieMonsters where did you buy the batman minion teddy from? Thanks

franksidebottom · 16/08/2015 17:13

Yes MintJulie why do people come on the Christmas board and then moan because it's Christmas related. IT'S THE CHRISTMAS BOARD!! it doesn't mean we are wishing our life away, I for one cannot afford to leave christmas until December as much as I would love to so I plan months in advance to give my kids as lovely a Christmas as I can do ... rant over!

franksidebottom · 16/08/2015 17:16

Wenglish - a walker, stacking cups maybe a sit on ride toy?

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 16/08/2015 17:29

DS (turning 3 in Oct) will get (split between birthday and Xmas) I think a road play mat/rug, a marble run, another Look Inside book, play doh bits, an orchard game, probably some more brio and duplo bits. Might get a cheap CD player for his room (all our music is digital now but he has some audio book CDs that we haven't used).

Baby DS (just born so will be 5.5 months) will get a few token bits but not much needed due to having a big brother!

Oldraver · 17/08/2015 00:17

Not clue....will probably be spending lots of time on here again

I think there may be Lego involved though I think we may be Lego-ed out

ouryve · 17/08/2015 00:23

It's August. Hell knows.

tomatodizzymum · 17/08/2015 00:29

DS (12) is getting a phone, we've decided it's best to give than for him to be the only one without one.

DD never wants anything, so I have no idea what she's getting. Possibly some little bits and peices she likes/needs.

DS (6) is getting a remote control hotwheels car because he's asked already.

DS (3) Some plastic tat that he doesn't need probably. Just a car or dinosaur will keep him happy.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 17/08/2015 10:12

Same here. I start buying in the January sales, and in fact am almost done now. Have another £50 or so quid to spend from Amazon.

I would love to have the budget to waltz into Harrod a few days before - taxi waiting outside for me, go in - point at stuff which they take away to wrap, then have a support staff to help me into my cab.

But sadly we do not have that budget. Grin

But yes why do people come into Christmas to make rude remarks?

CookieMonstersAngryTwin · 17/08/2015 10:58

seven Its from eBay, if you search you'll see tonnes, think it was around £2.50 Grin

fuzzpig · 17/08/2015 11:28

Just got the DCs a Lego Klutz book each ('Crazy Action Contraptions' and 'Chain Reactions') as they're under £9 on Amazon. They are going to love them :o

AndNowItsSeven · 17/08/2015 12:16

Brill, thanks cookie.

Kelly281 · 17/08/2015 12:33

DD will be 4. My plan so far is:

ELC Rosebud boutique town house with rooms & adjoining shops
Dressing up centre Link
ELC dressing up costumes (police, fire, knight)
Disney princess costumes with shoes/accessories
Our Generation dolls diner from Smyth
Singing care bear
Frozen singing jewellery box

There will be small bits & bobs to go along, and some stocking fillers but those are the main presents I'm going with.

Her Birthday is in October, for that I've found a balancing beam & gymnastics mat in Ikea which is ideal.

fuckingfuming · 17/08/2015 15:52

ds1 is 16 and will be getting some cash and probably the fallout 4 game for his computer.
ds2 is 14 and will be getting a goody bag of stuff he needs for the radio controlled kit car he had for his birthday in june.
dd's are 10 and 9 and will be getting a new tv for their bedroom.

plus bits and bobs, a dvd each etc.

JemimaMuddledUp · 17/08/2015 16:17

DS1 (13) has asked for a road bike, but we have actually got it for his birthday as a surprise. He won't get a huge present then for Christmas.

DS2 (11) is taking about an xbox, but may have changed his mind by then

DD (9) has been talking about a Kindle Fire or an ipod.

MidnightDinosaur · 18/08/2015 09:10

Just finished the list for the dc and think we're quite happy with it now. They only usually ask for one thing each and we add a couple extra bits to it but they're getting way more than usual this year as we've just had a clear out of their outgrown toys and they've only been left with a quarter of what they had, they didn't even have that much to start with. Plus, I get their homeschool allowance in December which will help.

Ds1 (6)

Lego Ninjago Mechdragon (complete bargain at $40 reduced from $200 just because they are changing the boxes)
Lego Ninjago Flight of Destiny (the asked for toy)
Lego Ninjago Ninja DBX
Big super soaker gun (Xmas is summer here)
250 piece Zoob set
100 piece snap circuits Jnr set
Lego ideas book

Ds2 (5)
Lego City arctic base camp
Lego City spaceport
Lego City space jet transporter
Big Super soaker gun
62 piece magformers set (he's asked for polydrons but they're just way too expensive here and these are practically the same)
Laser pegs 6-1 monster truck
Avengers book.

and there will be absolutely nothing else until their birthdays.

HelloMummyCat · 18/08/2015 09:15

Dd will be 3 in February '16, she's having the duplo number train, a basic wooden doll's house and I might also get her a car seat for her doll's because she adores the one at play group so I think that might be her favourite present Smile

BiddyPop · 18/08/2015 09:27

DD turns 10 over Christmas. So both Christmas (FC and from us) and her birthday to think about.

So far, we are thinking about an Xbox from FC.
She usually gets some clothes from us for Christmas or birthday.

Books, always.
No idea what else though at the moment. Possibly some more lego as part of it.

She announced this morning that she is going to ask FC for an Xbox (best friend up the road has one and they are both playing minecraft a LOT on it this summer!) and an amp (for the electric guitar she won at the Christmas fair in school last year - which we had just decided to give to school as no need for it for years yet in our house). Luckily, when we had our chat this morning, she accepted giving the guitar to school on condition that we'd buy her a new one when the time comes for her to need (want) one. If she ever gets that far.

NeverNic · 18/08/2015 20:53

MsCake what a fantastic idea! I have wish listed it as I know my godson and nephews would love it.

Not sure yet but this year I plan to get one decent present each, something like a trike or a wooden farm and a play shop and then 4-5 presents as well as stockings with dvds, books, mini things and craft stuff. So far I have bought a book each, a leap pad bk in the sale, hot wheel cars (5 for £4 in Lidl) and Disney Dvds (£5 in asda). For my eldest main presents I have already got a spiderman costume.

Other things on my consideration list are brio train bits, anything to do with Cars 1 or 2, dinosaur stuff, BBC dvds and things to do with Bing. My youngest turns one in October and my eldest has so much I'd really rather buy something just for him and maybe something he can grow in to like a trike for when he's 18mths ish.

lavazzzalover · 21/08/2015 09:03

DD1 13yrs - iPhone (on contract as mine is coming to an end so she can have the upgrade)

DD2 11yrs - IPOD (her request! ) loves music. No need for a phone as she has an old blackberry.

DS1 7yrs - PS3. Much cheaper than PS4 and is happy with just footy games which can be bough cheaper as the PS4 is out.

lavazzzalover · 21/08/2015 09:04

Oh and a box of goodies each. Full of bits which have been bought through the year.

I've got two girls.
Younger DD, who will be 7 months is having a Vtech Smart Cub.
Older DD will turn 3 two weeks before Christmas is having a Lalaloopsy Colour Me doll (I'm really smug about this, as it's the only thing she's mentioned and I didn't think I'd be able to get hold of one without incurring massive costs. It's stashed safely in the loft!), Elsa and Anna soft dolls I picked up in Brantano, and a set of Frozen felt tips. They'll also both get new pajamas, from each other.

Last year I bought too much for DD1 and she got totally overwhelmed, so I've scaled back this year.

oobedobe · 01/09/2015 19:33

I bought too much last year also, I seem to buy more of the same type of stuff which they don't really need.

This year the DDs will be (just turned) 7 & 3 1/2 and I have decided to get them both the Leapfrog Epic tablet. We have a lot of tech in our house but none of it is their own - I also want to stop them using our ipad/iphones for games/movies as I think they are too sophisticated/expensive for little kids.

They will get a couple of smaller toys each, such as a small lego/playmobil/shopkins set some books and maybe a couple of boardgames we can play together.

For DDs 7th b'day she is getting a betta fish/aquarium (we will help her look after) and a vtech kidizoom action cam.
