Two DS, 5 and 7. They have birthdays near Xmas so can't remember what was bday and what Xmas.

Hits

The Kindle

Hama beads

Lego, Lego, Lego - played with every single day. But was a mistake getting an overly complicated Star Wars space ship for DS1, just frustrated him.

Magic Labyrinth and R2D2's In Trouble - basically Frustration

Harry Potter books

V-Tech camera, although its memory is now full so I need to work out how to transfer the pics

Tinti bath stuff - they love it (change colour of water, squirty soap etc)

Light Sabres

Those Angry Birds games that are always on offer - they seem rubbish to me but are often played with

Misses

Playmobil pirates - they play with the castle from the year before but not the Pirates for some reason

Star Wars costumes - shoddy and prone to ripping

Chocolate lolly maker

Marble run/ Domino run

I hope nobody minds me bumping this thread.

I just think it could be very useful to a lot of posters looking for present ideas.

Moondancer146 · 26/09/2015 18:53

My DD was only 7 months last Christmas but over the last few months has become more interested in her presents. Big successes include:

Fisher price laugh n learn house
Asda musical stacker bee
Push along walker
Mega bloks table
Various bath toys

Things she hasn't bothered with at all:

Ball pool
Wind up TV
Spinning top
Crawl n learn ball
Lullaby seahorse

Ds was 3.4 and dd was 8 months.

Both regularly still play with the happyland train set, and I'll get the extension pack this year.
The Easel has been a hit with dd, surprisingly, even though it was for ds
Charlie caterpillar rocker has been well loved by both
Duplo is loved by both

I can't actually remember any other presents but I'm sure there have been misses!

I'm reining it in a bit this year or we'll need a bigger house

notaprincessbutaqueen · 30/09/2015 10:20

lego and power rangers megazord (boys - 3 & 6)
dd(11) is still loving her kindle x

notaprincessbutaqueen · 30/09/2015 10:24

oh and geomag set. bought on black Friday as an extra gift for ds1(6) who has hardly shown any interest. ds2(3) absolutely loves them and carries the magnets everywhere! so they were a big hit for the wrong recipient!

Septembersunrays · 30/09/2015 11:56

Twolefttoes · 01/10/2015 13:15

HerdOfRhino · 19/10/2015 15:14

I know I have been responsible for bumping this thread quite a bit, but I think it's really useful to people who are just starting their Christmas shopping.

I hope nobody minds Smile

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2015 16:00

Lego, including the bits from the advent calendar (Star Wars) and Wii U/DS games.

neolara · 19/10/2015 16:02

Lego.

Frozen dolls

BobberClobber · 20/10/2015 21:38

DD (3) and DS (19mo) still play with their elc cleaning trolley every day. So cute when one of them decides to mop the floor or sweep up.

It's reduced to £20 again this year and is red and green and blue. (Most I looked at were pink, I don't mind pink toys but it really irritated me that every single other cleaning trolley was pink!)

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/10/2015 19:45

Skylanders
Lego.
Bike
Audio cd's

EnglishRose1320 · 22/10/2015 19:55

Imaginext here as well, all of it pretty much daily, even the 10yr old will play with it now and again.

Also lego, playmobil and a bath time potion making set my dm made up with funnels, test tubes and all the mini bottles of things she had collected from hotels and the like- massive hit

Not played with amymore- pretty much anything character based and those singing/recording bird things

Millie2013 · 22/10/2015 20:59

Last Christmas, DD (22 months) had the ikea kitchen and accessories, doll's bed (ikea) and various dolls accessories, happyland and Peppa pig stuff
She's played with all of it, in rotation (she goes through stages), but some of the dolls stuff, I've put away until she's a bit older

The two most played with gifts were from two years ago; ELC wooden blocks and the leapfrog my discovery house. Both are still being played with two years on!

SmashleyHop · 22/10/2015 21:11
