If he is going to be away, you could get a calendar made with nice photos of the children. I did this for dh last year, for his office.

It is a bit cheesy, but I think allowed for your own children!

Tortington · 14/11/2006 14:09

fuck ...all

jackieglyn · 14/11/2006 14:10

i got mine a new mountain bike, 2 dvd's a YSL shirt, pair of sport trousers and thats about enough i think!

McDreamy · 14/11/2006 16:38

That's a good idea - a calender with pictures of ther children. As you say you're allowed cheesiness with your own children!

DH's asked for a new wallet (old one I bought 12 years ago when we first started going out and it's now falling to bits).
One of those clay handprint things of DD3s (age 6 months) hand to go with the handprints of DDs 1&2.
I'm toying with the idea of putting together a small food hamper of stuff he likes. Shop hampers are too expensive and have stuff that he doesn't like e.g Christmas puddings/ mince pies etc. He hates anything with dried fruit in it.

I got today a sort of pedometer - you clip a sender onto your trainer and the receiver onto your i-pod and it tells you how far you've run etc etc. It's by Nike & looked pretty cool.

ernest · 14/11/2006 17:47

for all those keen on the calender idea, Apple do a cool one, I think £12 and you can really do it as you wish (1, 2 even up to 7 different photos per month, and you can write in the months any special events. We've just ordered 4. Can't do links, but you can look at it here. It was really easy to do. Can't wait to see finished, printed article.

So far I have bought photo cufflinks of the children and some Lindor chocolates for my DH. I'm stumped too, and apparently he has already finished buying for me and is very happy with what he has bought. We are doing the photo calendars for the grandparents - great idea!

caffeinequeen · 14/11/2006 18:28

Ooh photo cufflinks sound good. Where d'you get those then?
I am SO stumped for my DH. We dont have any dcs yet - he's a v big kid. He has a PSP and playstation (see what I mean??) but tbh I don't want to encourage him to spend any more time in front of a computer.
He doesn't wear aftershave and I just think another jumper is dullsville for him. Esp when he went to HUGE effort to surprise me on my birthday recently and is just so good at finding that special something.
Would love to see what everyone else is buying.

ProfYaffle · 17/11/2006 17:21

I'm getting a watch for dh as he's had his current one for years and the clasp doesn't work properly, it keeps stopping etc I'll get a few other small prezzies as well, don't know what yet.

jabberwocky · 17/11/2006 17:23

A boxed set of rock-n-roll documentaries along with a "voucher" for a 2 hours per week guarantee of private dh time so that he can watch them!

BettySpaghetti · 17/11/2006 17:41

hermykne · 17/11/2006 17:43

Twirl · 18/11/2006 22:04

Brain Trainer (from Iwantoneofthose website)
USB sim card reader (from Iwantoneofthose website)- am fed up with him losing his mobile and then not having phone numbers!
Cufflinks (from Silverado website).
I also have to think of what his parents can get him as they are incapable of doing it themselves so I will be watching this thread for more great ideas!

autumnlover · 18/11/2006 22:14

also a leather weekend bag with personalised initials somewhere

thats it so far...
