Lots i want but will get a cheque from parents(they live in Turkey),cheque from Granddad and auntie. Will only get presents to open if i do what i did lasy year and give DS's some money to go in a shop and buy something for me.
Most important thing for me will be that the DC are happy with their presents.

SherlockLGJ · 22/10/2006 18:13

World Peace and to be a size 10..............

Actually, I am not to bothered about World Peace.

helsy · 22/10/2006 18:19

A briefcase
Chanel Cristalle
Can't think of anything else.

Oh yes -
a damp proof course for the back porch
some bookshelves
a sideboard
someone to make our garden look less like a skip
about eight foot on the kitchen
some curtains for the back window
A miraculous cure for my fear of driving
And children who listen to me.

Thanks very much Santa.

Smittals · 22/10/2006 18:23

One particularly romantic Christmas, DH surpassed himself and bought me a BREADKNIFE!!! This was before we were married and I opened it at my parents - causing them some disquiet no doubt. The worst thing was the reason - 'because when I stay at your house, there are no decent knives in the kitchen for me to use'. Naturally this incident made it into the best man's speech at our wedding, can't think how he found out
Have since learned to be very, very specific about presents although this means there's absolutely zero chance of a romantic surprise .
As I'm about to have baby no.1, this year's list is all about girly luxury i.e. Clinique cosmetics, perfume, hair products etc. All the stuff I won't be able to buy for myself from now on without thinking 'but that would cover a lot of nappies...' . Damn that sensible Inner Puritan!

northerner · 22/10/2006 18:26

Some new GHD's
Some leather knee high boots
Scissor sisters album
Books

Quick Hijack - Hi Harrogatemum, how are you? How's the pregnancy going and how are the dt's? Not seen you around for a while.

cupsnakes · 22/10/2006 18:30

presents for me rather than new baby (due 21st Dec - I keep being told that this will be my Christmas present. Hmm, yes - labour. )

new pyjamas would be lovely
and I've seen some Dents leather gloves with cashmere lining at House of Fraser.

Think dh intends to buy me a stove top kettle for the new range cooker. Am not very impressed with this idea. Will have to inform him that this is the present I have already bought him, making it pointless.

harrogatemum · 22/10/2006 18:30

Hi Northerner - its been interesting - had to go into hospital for 4 nights a couple of weeks ago due to contractions starting at 32 weeks! They stopped it but I have now stopped work earlier than expected. Its hard work with the twins at the mo but am just about coping! 5 more weeks to go before I pop, I hope!

How are you doing?

And I want the new baby to be a good sleeper for Xmas as well!! Got some good ideas from people on this thread!

A bottle of Rouge Noir nail varnish.

Essie nail varnish in 'Thigh High' and 'Madamoiselle'

Some music

Books, of course

Termal underwear

Hiking boots

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 22/10/2006 19:23

I would like a Mobil phone and or d/camera as both of mine are not working any more

I know I wont get them though unless I buy them myself

So all I want for xmas is my DC to have a great day and a fun time watching them open their pressies up with smiles on their little faces

Xmas is for DC after all

kickassangel · 22/10/2006 22:30

will ask parents to get US a new food processor (or they get me £100 of goodies, & dp a shirt),
but just for me,
gillian mckeith cook book
uh - not sure, have got a stock pile of perfume & chanel stuff! would love a whole new set of clothes 2 sizes smaller, but would need to be in the gym right now, instead of on mumsnet.

perhaps mnhq could work out a way for me to go to the gym AND be on mn at the same time? that would be a cool yule!

Beauregard · 22/10/2006 22:35

Clothes
Trainers
coat
Jewellery
watch
mobile
er not much

Skribble · 22/10/2006 22:37

I am not in to star sign stuff but when it comes to pressies I am a typical taurean. Foody stuff, chocolates, luxury scarves, underwear and nice cosy house stuff. Never get anything like it.

sandyy · 22/10/2006 23:02

nothing. we have no spare money!

wrinklytum · 22/10/2006 23:12

The new "Rebus" book
Some more perfume
A new digital camera
New pair of glasses
Not to have to work Christmas eve night (boo hoo)
A full nights sleep from a baby that has eventually acquired some teeth by this stage,I hope!

pointyfangedWeredog · 22/10/2006 23:33

Well skribble, for someone who is not into star signs you certainly seem to know an awful lot about taureans' gift preferences.

ludaloo · 23/10/2006 07:37

I am a taurean too skribble.. I definately like chocolate and warm snuggly things!
I'd like "The Goodhousekeeping Family Cookbook"
Umm...I did want a Geaoge Forman Grilling machine but my lovely hubby bought me one at the weekend.
I'd also like some new slippers,
Lily Allens Album
I'd like a new fleece too (i've seen a nice one)

ludaloo · 23/10/2006 07:40

George*

joelallie · 23/10/2006 14:27

Nothing much.

New house perhaps?

Terry Pratchett novels - sad cow that I am...
Huge bunch of flowers (from DH not my mother for a change - he seems to have forgotten the way to the florist recently)

helsy · 23/10/2006 15:02

OK, I've changed my mind:

Billy Bragg has a book out, would like that.
A Mulberry bag (never going to happen) or an Ollie and Nic bag (more likely)

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2006 15:57

Great thread!

I have been keeping a little wish list for months as I have a Christmas birthday too and when I get asked, I normally don't have a clue, sods law though, no-ones asked me ...YET!

  • BFP (pretty, pretty please)
  • New Gladys Knight & Madaleine Peyroux cds
  • Aromessence spa relax (Decleor)
  • Aromessence spa bain (Decleor)
  • Brume spa relax (Decleor)
  • electric cuticle pusher
  • Symthson visitors' book

Maybe we should be a present swop going!

First christmas with now DH, we'd been together 11 months and he was out shopping with my Dad. He called me to say he was with my father and he'd got my Xmas pressie - well, you can imagine what I thought it was!! but oh no, it was a recipe book stand!!!

Skribble · 23/10/2006 21:38

Well I don't beleive that star signs have any relevance, but you can't avoid the magazine atricles about what is supposed to appeal to who really .

I wonder if I am hard to read, personality wise as I never get the things I really fancy, not expensive stuf just the little nice things I see, Perhaps I need to leave one of these magazines open at the relevcent page with big arrows in marker pen, enough of being subtle .
