What presents did you (in your childhood)or your dc long for, but never got?
Dh resents loudly, when pissed that his younger DB got a selection of action men (he never even wanted an action man)
My dm let on, when she was in her 60s, that she never had a teddy bear.
So what did you want that Santa left on his sleigh?

If anyone ever coveted the Hobby Girl knitting machine, let me just reassure you that is was also shit.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 23/12/2014 22:33

Funny, it was my dm, and I did. She loved it.

I was never allowed a Mr Frosty or play doh

funnyface31 · 23/12/2014 22:35

That's lovely x

Marcipex · 23/12/2014 22:37

I longed for Playdoh too, but it was 'for little ones.' Still love the smell.

I wanted barbie winter garden Sad

Oh dear, Santa got it wrong.
OneHorseOpenSandwich · 23/12/2014 22:39

I had a Mr Frosty. It wasn't shit, it was just that ice can be quite difficult to grate with a blunt cheese grater when you are 7 :)

No cleaning required though, it just being ice!

I never got a yellow tea pot or a robot or a strawberry shortcake doll.

CrapBag · 23/12/2014 22:39

I had Mr Frosty. It didn't work properly.

I desperately wanted the My Little Pony dream castle. One year my nan actually went to get it for me but it had been discontinued. I was gutted. The new My Little Pony looks shite.

306235388 · 23/12/2014 22:39

Mr frosty here too. I don't know anyone who actually had one.

Also a train set - my parents never cared for gender stereotypes but apparently a train set was for boys. WTF? I have bought both by dc a train set and neither have given a shit about it!

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 23/12/2014 22:40

Yep, as I've said on a similar thread previously, Mr Frosty.

I asked for one for years and Santa never brought me one the bastard

ThePortlyPinUp · 23/12/2014 22:41

Mr fucking Frosty.

In fact both my dbro and dsis also wanted one but didn't get one as a child. DParents then bought dbro one for his 21st

It was shit.

loudarts · 23/12/2014 22:42

I asked for dreamphone 3 years in a row and never got it Xmas Sad

Cupcakes123 · 23/12/2014 22:44

My DP bought me a Mr Frosty last year as I moaned so much that I had a traumatic childhood without one drama queen much?!
I suspect they are much more fun when you're 7 and not 27.

I definitely didn't use the crushed ice to make cocktails with Wink vodka mr frosty is much more fun!

3BloodyKids · 23/12/2014 22:44

just to reassure y'all, at the age of 40 I got a much coveted Mr Frosty in secret santa this weekend. AND IT IS ABSOLUTE SHITE. Straight in the bin.

HowsTheSerenity · 23/12/2014 22:47

Sylvanian Family. I think I asked every year for four years.

MellowMarshmallow · 23/12/2014 22:48

this thread is making me bitterly regret banning the Air Hogs Atmosphere from ds2s list. ah well there's always his birthday. Hopefully if I relent then he won't be scarred for life.

SouthernComforts · 23/12/2014 22:50

I had a Mr Frosty! I can't remember ever being able to make it work, so yes, they were shit.

JingleSpud · 23/12/2014 22:50

Mr frosty

Passmethecrisps · 23/12/2014 22:51

Mr frosty - a waste
Operation - bits to get lost
Story books. My mum told me recently that the reason I didn get but my siblings did was because I read anyway from the library. But I used to wait eagerly for Christmas every year for my own book

Homebird8 · 23/12/2014 22:54

306 I wanted a train set too. I never asked for one because I didn't think it was the right sort of request because I was a girl. I always played with my girl cousin's set though and it didn't occur to me that she had one and she was a girl. The odd thing is that my parents were strongly supportive of there not being boys' things and girls' things and would have got me one (or rather DF would have made one!) if I'd asked. I went on to become an engineer which was fine by them too.

StormBraver · 23/12/2014 22:57

A Rainbow Brite doll. I'm still waiting, Santa, if you're reading!

DancingDinosaur · 23/12/2014 22:57

A train set. My parents wouldn't buy me one because my brother had one and they didn't want to buy two. So they asked him to share it, which he did, but he hovered over it the whole time not really letting me touch it. So I gave up, and my parents concluded they had done the right thing not buying me one because I stopped playing with the one in the house, so clearly didn't really want one Sad

NotEvenAnEnormouseStirred · 23/12/2014 23:00

A bambi cuddly toy from the Disney store. I asked every year and I got thumper but never bambi.

Till last year when I finally got one. Dp took pity on me and bought me one for Christmas after hearing my sob story.
