306 I wanted a train set too. I never asked for one because I didn't think it was the right sort of request because I was a girl. I always played with my girl cousin's set though and it didn't occur to me that she had one and she was a girl. The odd thing is that my parents were strongly supportive of there not being boys' things and girls' things and would have got me one (or rather DF would have made one!) if I'd asked. I went on to become an engineer which was fine by them too.

A train set. My parents wouldn't buy me one because my brother had one and they didn't want to buy two. So they asked him to share it, which he did, but he hovered over it the whole time not really letting me touch it. So I gave up, and my parents concluded they had done the right thing not buying me one because I stopped playing with the one in the house, so clearly didn't really want one

A bambi cuddly toy from the Disney store. I asked every year and I got thumper but never bambi.
