preparing house and veg etc as cleaning all done tomorrow.
going for walk ds1 gf, and ds2 are coming home / round about 2pm.
Then just hanging out, playing games.
Watch tv, put pressies out.
So nothing much really.
Our dc are older except for dd 10 and she'll just love having her brothers here.
We'll be eating gammon and chips for tea.

Dd will have her usual morning bath but with a bath bomb and glowsticks. If it's dry we'll head to the park so she can run off some energy. I'll probably make soup for lunch. In the afternoon dd and I will make reindeer food and sprinkle it on the garden. We have a takeaway curry for dinner and then it's into Christmas PJs and setting up Santa's mince pie and Rudolph's carrot. Hanging DD's stocking and then into bed Smile

day: been guilt-tripped into visiting my mum for lunch (though we'll see them all day Christmas Day). Also the kids are going to decorate their sugar cookies

Night: taking the kids to look at Christmas lights and will pop in a Christmas movie Grin

I'm excited about Christmas Eve, possibly even more than Christmas Day Smile we will be doing baking in the morning to take to our local police station to say thanks for keeping us safe, then going to see paddington at the cinema, then out for tea with my parents, home for Christmas bath with Santa bath bomb, lovely Christmas stories and hot chocolate. Then dd's to bed, wine (bought out very first set of wine glasses last week for the occasion) for us and setting out presents. First year DH hasn't worked so it will be lovely to be together. Smile

a walk into town for a hot chocolate en famille as is our tradition, wrapping up the presents, making the ice cream and fruit brulee in the afternoon then mass in the evening. First year with no stockings this year - dc (16,18,20) not bothered but I have to admit it doesn't feel right so may get some chocolate coins and satsumas in town

Vvvoom · 22/12/2014 22:30

Am hoping to have cleaned on Tuesday so I can enjoy Christmas Eve by:
Baking mince pies
Listening to Christmas carols on radio
Wrapping last few gifts

Friends are taking kids to the cinema and then we'll meet other friends in the pub before coming home to cottage pie, fizz, and preparing for Santa.

Bet I end up cleaning though

BestIsWest · 22/12/2014 22:30

I said no stockings too but caved last week.

DC are with their dad this year Sad but its also the first year I'm living with DP really close to my family Smile.

DP is seeing his kids in the morning while I sort stuff out at home. Then we're doing the big Christmas shop at 5pm to get bargains (nervous), then going to the pub with my brother.

Xmas day is at my parents, boxing day at brothers and 27th at ours, with the kids. Like Come Dine With Me Xmas style.

Cooki3Monst3r · 22/12/2014 22:58

We will hopefully be going for a nice blustery walk on the beach in the morning. Pub for a quick drink. Then home for lunch (nothing fancy) then guests round in the afternoon, church carol service at 3pm, drinks and nibbles early evening then me and DH will have a relaxing evening as the DCs presents are all wrapped and in the loft - yay!!!!!

mummytowillow · 22/12/2014 23:03

We're going to see Paddington in the morning then visit my 94 year old Nan in afternoon.

Then lay table ready for Xmas day and chillax with DVD!

Cherrychocolate · 22/12/2014 23:12

Up very early, thanks to a very excited DD. She will find a few treats by her advent calander....... Cinderella DVD, Santa paws2 DVD, little Christmas music box, and Santa mug with chocolates and a lolly pop in :)

We will then watch one of the DVDs whilst waiting for everyone else to get up! The 2 boys will then get up and find their treats.

We're going to do some baking with the kids. I'll rush around tidying etc... Friends will be popping in at some point.

Out for dinner with all the neighbours and their kids in the evening. Home for 'night before Christmas story', snack out for Santa, stockings hung, kids to bed.

I usually get to bed by about 1am, but I'm always too excited and can't get to sleep anyway :)

heymammy · 22/12/2014 23:12

We normally go to George square (glasgow), it's our Christmas Eve tradition Sad. Not sure what to do now, seems inappropriate to just go somewhere else.

Cooki3Monst3r · 22/12/2014 23:16

Very sad heymammy. Not sure what the answer is for you, but, yes, I don't think I'd want to just change location either. Perhaps still go there, but to lay some flowers?

80sMum · 22/12/2014 23:20

On Wednesday I shall probably be cleaning the house and scrambling around in the loft trying to find some decorations to put up, as have family coming for Christmas lunch. Will probably finally finish the house work and getting house ready about 10.30 pm then sit down to write a quick list of what I need to do the next day, what time various things need to go in oven etc. if don't have a plan, I forget things!

Adarajames · 23/12/2014 00:02

Drop dogs to my parents to mind, then second shift at Crisis at Christmas shelter, so whatever chaos and hecticness that brings until 2200. Home for quick change and heck dogs ok, then midnight mass as its candlelit and pretty at church I was a chorister at for many years, then home to crash out for good long sleep before another shift at Crisis
