Get up about 8 with DD1 (4) DD2 (1.5) and DH...

Have a basket from the elves ready... Books, dvd, colouring books, chocolate, onesies for later...

Have breakfast and DH's birthday presents.

Walk the dog.

Leave about 12 for Disney on ice.

Go from there to dinner, meet 17 friends and have loads of food and drink.

Go home, put DD2 to bed (in onesie!) and put DD1 in her onesie and do the santa plate. Then put her to bed.

Whisper, trip, argue and bring all the presents down and set them up in the living room...

Go to bed! (Fail to fall asleep...)

Up about 8, beakfast with dp then showers etc

Going to my friends for 10 to drop off presents for her and her partner/kids. Her dp is taking the kids to his parents for a couple of hours so we get to hide the presents and relax for a bit gossip

Then dp is picking me up and we are meeting his parents, grandparents, brother and sil at a lovely pub for a big lunch, that will probably last a few hours.

Then back home, pack presents/clothes etc as going to my parents for xmas dinner and staying xmas night.

Collapse on the sofa feeling fat from lunch, watch a film, graze on cheese and crackers and chocolate then bed!

RedTinsel · 22/12/2014 17:27

Big walk to deliver cards to our neighbours an friends locally.
Then walk up to town on some random pretence, possibly lunch at Mcds (stops the DCs moaning).
Big walk home.
Then buffet tea at home, I've got some of those party plate thingies from Tesco.
Finally a Christmas movie in our pjs before an early bed.
Hopefully the big walk will tire out the DCs and I'm not waiting till midnight to put the pressies out like last year.

JoanHickson · 22/12/2014 17:30

Pick up the M&s food order. Have our Christmas eve hot chocolate when out. Tuck into the M&s cheese board at some point.

Finally children in the bath and given their Christmas eve pj's.

insancerre · 22/12/2014 17:40

Working till 4.45 hopefully finishing earlier if the parents in the nursery collect earlier
Might go to the pub for tea
Either way I will he drinking lots if wine and then probably falling asleep on the sofa at some point

LePetitMarseillais · 22/12/2014 17:41

We'll have our sour dough fry up then go up on the moor to collect holly and walk.

Will come back for hot choc. I'll make mince pies, kids will ice the Christmas cake and do Christmas craft stuff to give to the grandparents. Will watch a film then have the Christmas ham, cauliflower cheese and jackets for tea.

Kids will be allowed to open the new Xmas game(Ticket to Ride),books and choc tin and then have a bath with an Xmas Lush bath bomb. Will read A Night a Before Christmas, hang stockings then bed.

Dh and I will be frantically wrapping until the wee hours.

Sounds dreadfully twee but you do these things once and they insist on it every year.Blush

annabanana19 · 22/12/2014 17:41

Tidy up, Put Turkey in the oven about 10am, potter, light lunch, bake mince pies, walk at the beach, track santa, tea, have a drink and nibbles and watch TV then battle with the kids to get them to bed. Older they get the more difficult it is!

lavendersun · 22/12/2014 17:44

Long dog walk on the beach followed by fish and chips for lunch before a family film and our usual Christmas Eve food in the evening - weather forecast looks good for us.

CheckpointCharlie · 22/12/2014 17:50

Get up about ten, kids will be happy watching telly for a bit.

Might clean and tidy house as have a few friends coming round for fizz and cheese and biscuits at about four.

Leave all relevant bits and bobs out for Santa (he gets wine in our house) Grin

Then listen to carols and sort out presents while drinking more fizz.

Then off to bed ready to face the 6am carnage!!!!

Lovelydiscusfish · 22/12/2014 17:51

Christmas with the in-laws, complete with turkey, and exchange of presents with them. We'll have three Christmases in total!

Annietheacrobat · 22/12/2014 17:58

Working. Busy clinic as usual. Unfortunately my speciality doesn't really stop over Christmas. DP is taking the girls into his work.

sara11272 · 22/12/2014 18:09

Get up about 7 ish as usual with DCs... Try and keep them quiet for a bit as DH is going to be working 10pm-6am Sad Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day night.

Off to see Paddington at the cinema at 11, then probably home for lunch, or maybe costa or similar if I'm feeling lazy.

Afternoon at home, I'll make a cottage pie for tea, give the DCs baths early then walk up to Christingle service at 5. Home for cottage pie, kids to bed about 7.30, DH to work, me to put pressies out and snaffle Santa's glass of port before bed.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2014 18:19

We've got teenagers. We'll have a lie in then take them out for breakfast. We might go to the cinema after that, or might come home and watch a film together. Carols on the village green with flasks of mulled wine or boozy hot chocolate and then home for a cheeseboard-esque buffet and probably another film.

BrightestAndBest · 22/12/2014 18:23
  1. Working.
  2. Wrapping presents.
  3. Sleeping (assuming I finish 1 & 2 before midnight).
BestIsWest · 22/12/2014 18:24

We are all home on Christmas Eve so I will be having a lie in and a leisurely breakfast. Then I will cook the ham, make mince pies, peel all the veg, do anything I can in advance whilst watching It's a Wonderful Life and drinking Sherry. DD will help. DH and DS will find an excuse to go to ASDA and disappear for three hours returning with a pot of cream and a real Christmas tree which they will have paid 50p for.

DB and his family will visit mid afternoon for drinks and present exchanging.

Christmas Eve Turkey sarnies are a tradition in our family so I will cook the turkey and make a pavlova and set up a buffet style tea with pate, cheeses etc.

Then we will open the chocolates and the Baileys and watch Love Actually.

We will talk about going to Midnight Mass and then decide not to.

Can't wait.

MummyPig24 · 22/12/2014 18:32

We will be at Warwick Castle. We are going to Warwick tomorrow and staying over so it's a little break for us, really looking forward to it.

When we get back in the evening we will have tea and the dcs will put their sacks out and go to bed. Then I will do some veg prep and filling the sacks. Then a drink and watch something festive.

Guiltypleasures001 · 22/12/2014 18:34

Myself dh and ds are going to a six o'clock showing of the 3rd night at the museum films.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2014 18:35

Oh and the dds will be making a gingerbread cottage/mayhem at some point too.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/12/2014 18:36

Dropping DDs and DSD off at respective other parents so they can spend Christmas Day with them Sad

StillWearingOddSocks · 22/12/2014 18:37

Nice leisurely morning - walk in park, feed ducks & watch Christmas films. Eat cheese & crackers, play Christmas music. Then children's mass at 6:30 - when we get back the elves will have delivered Christmas PJs for DS, DH & me. Plus mug & lush Christmas bath bomb.

So bath, hot choc - Christmas book, putting out carrots port & mince pies - & tracking Santa on NORAD.

Then baileys by the lights of the Christmas tree.
