Mine are piled in the spare room... And I mean Piled!! All over the bed, floor, sideboard and on top of the wardrobe... You can barely get in the room. (We buy for a lot of people!)

I have guests coming next week, and I need my guest room... But I literally have I idea where I'm going to put everything and DH and I are a bit panicked about it... (Not just a bit... He's actually considering cancelling..??!)

in my boot and old butchers cupboard on top of the fridge

DamselNotInHerDress · 16/12/2014 13:47

We built an extension this year and incorporated most of our old dining room. We still have a 1.5m wide strip of old dining room that now houses the Hoover, ironing board, and all the presents waiting to be wrapped.
When they get wrapped, they go under the tree.
We have always had presents under the tree as it looks bare otherwise, and the dc have always been good about not opening them! Ds is 3 now and lies down every day under the tree to stroke the "lovely presents" Xmas Grin

JuniperTisane · 16/12/2014 13:50

Two are at MILs as they're not hideable (bikes). Others are in the utility room and a few behind a chair in the living room. None under the tree, i'm too afraid of them being seen and nicked.

emptywinebox · 16/12/2014 15:44

ahhhhhh at "Ds is 3 now and lies down every day under the tree to stroke the "lovely presents".

That's lovely Grin

DamselNotInHerDress · 16/12/2014 16:20

Empty, it's very sweet, though he tends to dislodge baubles and the other decorations!
I imagine he'll be beside himself when he realises he can actually open them!

Ragwort · 16/12/2014 16:27

In my walk in wardrobe Blush.

Notso · 16/12/2014 16:37

Family presents in big bags in my room.
DC presents go in the very back of our wardrobes. DH and I sleep in the loft room, our built in wardrobes go the full length of the room and right back to the eaves. I had false backs put in the wardrobes for the sole purpose of hiding the kids presents.

I never put presents under the tree until Christmas Eve, after my GP's were burgled a week before Christmas Xmas Sad

squiggleirl · 16/12/2014 19:55

Oh dear guys. Be very careful keeping stuff in sheds/garages/cars. A friend of mine's shed was broken into just before Christmas, and all the gifts were stolen. A guy at work had gone shopping for toys one afternoon. His plan was to take the toys out of the boot of the car that night when the kids went to bed. Someone broke into the boot of the car, and took the lot. It was awful for both of them. Thankfully they got sorted again in time for Christmas.

Ours are all in the attic. I've no idea how we'll get them down unnoticed.

xalyssx · 16/12/2014 23:53

I have wrapped presents in gift bags in the playpen, unwrapped presents in the cupboard under the stairs, and Santa's presents in a cupboard in the boys' bedroom

TheScottishPlay · 17/12/2014 20:50

In the 'west wing' which is currently being used for storage but will be turned into DS new bedroom next year.

darlingfascistbullyboy · 17/12/2014 21:01

under the tree!

Not yet wrapped stuff is hidden in the airing cupboard.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 17/12/2014 21:14

Oh goodness thats too sweet Xmas Smile

MehsMum · 17/12/2014 21:17

In the wardrobes. I suspect the DC (in their teens) have a fair idea where they'd find them if they went looking, but our room is generally forbidden territory so I hope they don't.

Jakadaal · 17/12/2014 21:17

In locked suitcases in dh's wardrobe. That is where they are usually stored but they do look a little lumpy!

Hulababy · 17/12/2014 21:19

Presents for me, DH and 12y DD - under the tree once wrapped. Started doing this once DD got to be about 8 or 9 iirr. Father Christmas brings once special unwrapped gift on Christmas Eve so that will only ever appear at that time.

Presents for other people - spare room and delivered to them when we see them in the week or two running up to Christmas - and as soon as possible wherever we can!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 17/12/2014 21:27

Loft.

Now under the tree.

Thankfully the dses are old enough that they can safely live under the tree once wrapped. The years of sneaking things down from the loft Christmas eve are behind us.

My dses seem distinctly lacking in curiosity. I used to hunt high and low for pressies and always had a feel of pressies under the tree to see if I could guess, my dses haven't even moved anyXmas Confused

I still peak at my mums pressie to us every year so I'm not too disappointed on Christmas day when I realise what crap she has palmed off on us

Methe · 17/12/2014 21:28

The kids are in mils spare room and the boot of the cars.

Everyone else's is under the tree.

Harrin · 18/12/2014 12:49

I agree about not hiding presents in cars etc. My dp hid an iPad mini in the boot for me last year. My car was broken into 2 weeks before Xmas Angry Sad

SanityClause · 18/12/2014 12:57

We have loft cupboards in our bedroom. The door of one of them is behind my bedside table, so to get into it, you have to move the table, then open the door, so it's not all that simple to get into.

I store DC's stuff in there, and stocking stuff is interspersed between the skiing base layers etc., in my wardrobe, which only see light of day once or twice a year.

Things that don't have to be hidden are just left in my wardrobe, until they are needed.

Meplusyouequals4 · 18/12/2014 18:48

MIL's spare bedroom. Bonus is she wraps them too. And lives next door.

Meplusyouequals4 · 18/12/2014 19:33

meg my MIL is a life saver and the best I could ever ask for. And I don't want to share Grin

Dionysuss · 18/12/2014 21:37

In previous years I used to stash them in our touring caravan away from nosey little people. But it's in storage this year. I've had to wrap things as soon as I've bought them. There are several mountains in my bedroom.

Amee · 18/12/2014 21:51

Some are in the ironing basket - no one ever looks in there,...

Oldraver · 18/12/2014 23:46

In a downstairs wardrobe wrapped and some in the boxes they were delivered in. There arn't many but a couple of big boxes. One is hidden in the Christmas tree box which is in another downstairs wardobe

I've hidden a present of OH's and have yet again lost it...this time I have blamed my Mum as she did a sweep of the house and I reckon she picked it up Grin
