Thought it might be nice to have a separate thread here :) Let the lightening clicking begin Grin

Another first timer for Amazon BF, I was on the wait list for the Brio train set and only waited a few minutes before the pop up of pressure showed itself.
3 minutes and counting then 15 minutes to checkout.
I am pleased to report success!
Ds2 has been after a proper train set for ages so I was looking to buy this anyway so... Hurrah! Xmas Smile

EdwiniasRevenge · 25/11/2014 09:56

Ok ladies. Few more things been added today that I have set my alarm for Grin

Can someone please explain the disney infinity thing to me. I know there is the old one and the new 2.0 one. And I know they aren't compatible with each other. But what do they actually 'do'?

We have a WiiU and they are getting a PS3 for christmas. I am looking for something for DD3 (8) to play on the PS3. The superheroes yesterday didn't appeal but the disney does. Does it matter that it is rhe 'old' version? Am I comitted to buying 10s of extra characters to make it a more worthwhile game (I see there are some going later too).

Tell me all I need to know about Disney infinity please.

oh and the knex roller coster set going this afternoon is fab if anyone is considering it.

schmeegle · 25/11/2014 09:57

First purchase, that swooshi stuff whatever that is!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 25/11/2014 10:05

I think the giraffe was about £30 not 100% though!

what time is Disney infinity on? quite fancy it for me Grin do we think it will be cheaper than the superheroes yesterday?

EdwiniasRevenge · 25/11/2014 10:08

It is 4:30 I think. Ish. And then some playsets an hour later

but it is the original version so I would hope it will be cheaper.

Tortoise · 25/11/2014 10:09

I wanted the skwooshi but didn't want to pay postage and couldn't find anything else to add to give free delivery. We had a sample of it a while back and it was really weird stuff but they liked it.

RudePepper · 25/11/2014 10:09

Can someone explain how it works pls - thought it didn't start until Fri Sad

HoHoHappyHolidays · 25/11/2014 10:13

Very disappointed how much the Malcolm in the Middle DVD box set costs. Definitely not spending £60! Wanted to buy it for around £40.

Rude - Amazon are doing it all week.

Go to 'todays deals' have a look through. See something you fancy. Note the start time. At that time there will be a special 'lightning price' add it to your basket at that point. Once added to your basket you have 15mins to complete the checkout (or change your mind).

The deals seem to last for 2hrs or until they are sold out whichever happens first.

Once and item has been 100% claimed (ie all stock is in peoples baskets) you can add yourself to the waitlist then if anyone removes it from their basket you can snatch it up - but they only give you 3mins to do this (plus the 15mins to check out or change your mind).

Steben · 25/11/2014 10:16

Has anyone seen the babyliss curl secret on offer? DD wants one but it is at least 70 over my budget currently!

EdwiniasRevenge · 25/11/2014 10:18

The Clint Eastwood box set would have made the PERFECT present for XP. But he's an ex so ain't getting it.

Am I wierd for feeling gutted that I missed out on that deal by a few years Confused

Tunna · 25/11/2014 10:18

edwinia, the good thing about getting the first version is that you'll be able to pick up the characters for a lot cheaper. Our tesco had them for around £3 each not so long ago.

You plug in the portal and then your DC choose which character they want to play with by popping that one on the portal. You can also create your own levels in the 'sand box' part of the game.

I'd also recommend little big planet for the PS3 - my 8 yr old still plays regularly after 3 yrs release because you can play other people's levels online and it feeds his imagination and creativity. Smile

Tunna · 25/11/2014 10:24

Tortoise, I got the skwooshie and a packet of doodle by stitch washable fabric pens (not on offer). I'm going to get a cheap plain white pillowcase so DS can decorate his own bedding, changing it each time it's washed Smile

Theonlyoneiknow · 25/11/2014 10:25

Can anyone tell me how much the Melissa & Doug castles were yesterday and what time the Melissa and doug farm is today? Am at work and it's hard to secretly browse! :(

EdwiniasRevenge · 25/11/2014 10:25

But how do you 'play'. Is it about collecting tokens? Is it about beating others? Is it just about creating things? I can't really find an answer to that question.

Tunna · 25/11/2014 10:25

Some DS puzzle games coming up....

Helgathehairy · 25/11/2014 10:27

I'm loving the look of the Melissa & Doug kitchen coming up later but DD is a bit too young this year. Need it to come up next year again!

bobkate · 25/11/2014 10:28

Can someone explain please about the waitlist. It's said I'm on the waitlist, but in blue underneath where it says learn more, it says it'll show where I am in the queue but I can't see that part anywhere. How does it notify you if you do get to the top of the list? Really wanted the walkie talkies!

ouryve · 25/11/2014 10:32

sesamestrasse - not sure what price you're looking for for the learning table, but they had some (either leapfrog or Fisher price) in Wilkinson for £20, yesterday.

ouryve · 25/11/2014 10:36

And something tells me that half of mumsnet might have been after the Philips Lumea hair remover. It's the first thing I've paid attention to that actually went quickly. I bagged one, of course!

I'm looking at the lantern that's on, later. We get a lot of power cuts.

Edwinia I did a double take when I spotted the Clint Eastwood set in the line up. I wasn't looking through the righ bit of my glasses and let's just say that my brain didn't register the label as "CLINT"

EdwiniasRevenge · 25/11/2014 10:36

bobkate sit at your PC and don't move!

apparently a pop up will come up and you only have 3 minutes to accept if you do get to the top.
Good luck.

Tunna · 25/11/2014 10:37

Edwinia, it is a traditional platform game with various levels and challenges. E.g. Go to the monster inc game and complete the challenges.

You get tokens for completing the challenges, that unlocks items you can then use to create your own levels, e.g. A teleporter, a car, a tree for decoration etc. some challenges can only be completed by certain characters (encouraging you to buy more) but you can still complete the game with the one provided.

If you buy for instance the toy story pack, that provides a new 'world' other than the basic ones provided.

ouryve · 25/11/2014 10:38

bobkate - if you're on the browser, you should get a pop up at the top of the window. Obviously, not everyone who gets something in their basket actually buys it. There was a stereo that looked like it might fit the bill for what we've been after, yesterday, so I put it in my bag. After a few minutes reading reviews etc, I soon realised that it wasn't what we were looking for and also felt and sounded a bit crap, so I deleted it from my basket.

poorbuthappy · 25/11/2014 10:39

It appears I have accidentally bought 2 Disney infinity 2.0 for the Wii U.
Shock
If I do get 2 delivered does anyone want 1 for the Amazon price of £28?

Tunna · 25/11/2014 10:41

Hi ourve! Smile feel like I've been caught cheating on the sn board Blush
