last year's double up with sainburys wasnt great. It was only champagne, homeware and some clothes that were included. Might be different this year. hopefully.

coffeetofunction · 22/10/2014 09:53

I've hit sainsburys, would have liked some more savings but got a lot for the money I spent... Savings on Lego, nerf, leap frog, sainsburys own stuff, top trumps, board games... Well worth the effort Smile

PinkSquash · 22/10/2014 10:04

Our Sainbos was rubbish- mainly own brand toys reduced. No Thomas left at all.

Amazon have a Stunt Scooter on a lightening deal down to £20 which is pretty good IMO.

BumpKitty · 22/10/2014 10:07

Just been to sainsburys, it was ok - I got playmobil carry cases one police and one fairy one for £6.66. Orchard games rocket game for £4.66, and a Disney princess Cinderella bath toy for £3.99. My best bargain was a lego friends small panda pack ( the ones in the foil bags) it said it was £2.25 on the shelf but scanned at 75p. Also they had the big Wasjig puzzles for £3.60 and I decided to get one but when the lady scanned it it said 'not for sale' and they immediately pulled them all off the shelves Shock
I also saw avengers figures, Star Wars figures (Barbie sized). Vtech ride on alphabet train, barbie mermaid bath set £20, other barbie sets - doll with bed or with table etc.

beadyboo · 22/10/2014 10:11

I filled my online shopping basket full of Body Shop goodies for teachers etc. on the train home from work yesterday. Lost internet connection and by the time I got signal back everything I'd ordered had gone out of stock. Boooo, serves me right for attempting to multi task. Hope it was my fellow MNbargain hunters who got them.

FlipFlippingFlippers · 22/10/2014 10:11

Thanks for the matalan tip! I wonder if I'll be able to use 2 vouchers as I'm planning to spend £70. Could always do 2 separate transactions I suppose.

PoopPoooDeDooo · 22/10/2014 10:12

Was someone after Hexbugs? Smyths have got a V2 Black Hole set for £25 (50% off)

Whoateallthecheese · 22/10/2014 10:14

Has anyone got a Book People discount code for today? Thank you! Flowers

RJ my Sainsburys had the exclusive Pinkie Pie in for around £13.32
It was madness, never seen anything like it, people with trolleys literally full to the brim Confused
They had brought in tonnes of extra stuff though and a lot of it was quite good just not suitable for me. I did get the Playmobil police case though for £6.60ish and some plastic dress up shoes for DD for £1.24 and a crown with clip on earrings for a whole pound!

poppetina · 22/10/2014 10:22

Well I've just had an email from zavvi to say that one of my DVDs has been dispatched, after the initial 'sorry there's a delay' email. So fingers crossed they'll get here eventually!
Sainsbury's sale was ok. No Thomas left though. Hmm

TrisisFour · 22/10/2014 10:28

I've just had another email from smyths toy store confirming more reductions. The new crawling/walking baby annabell is down to £39.99. Lots of other offers in there.

pigleychez · 22/10/2014 10:29

Just returned from the Sainsburys scrum down! It was rather manic to say the least. I didnt really need anything but went for a look anyway.

Got the girls some little barbie lego people for 99p each. Most normal lego stuff had about £5 off.

Got a toot toot vehicle for a friends little boy for £4 and got my Nephew a large Spiderman doll for £7.50.

Clara plenty of Thomas stuff at my local, mostly half price.
They were stocking up all the time (when the staff could get to the shelves!)

Passthebiscuitspls · 22/10/2014 10:41

I've just been to our sainsburys toy sale and it was really good! Literally like everyone else has said, women with trolleys full of toys!! I managed to get a Nerf Demolisher half price at £22 which was on my sons Xmas list, Yey! I got some MLP packs for £7.50 for my daughter and her friend, some play-doh packs, one was a pack of 4 different colours of play-doh reduced to £1!! And then a couple of stocking fillers for the kids. It was def worth a trip. They were stocking up all the time. I would say just bewars though as I saw some pillow pets reduced to £9.99 which seemed good but I bought one last night from amazon for £6.86 so make sure it is a bargain before you buy it. Xx

TrisisFour · 22/10/2014 11:14

Just ordered the baby annabell bed with lullaby from smyths. Down from 79.99 to 29.99 (although I don't think it's really £79.99 having looked elsewhere but the new price is a bargain).

marne2 · 22/10/2014 11:19

Just got my food shop in Tescos and they had a lot of beauty gift sets half price, I got dd a impulse set ( as she has asked for some spray like mum ) and a hand cream set for dd2's TA for £2.

This is the first year I have not done sainsburys, I am twitching slightly but by the sounds of things there wouldn't be much there I need ( trying to stick to my list ).

SweetPeaPods · 22/10/2014 11:21

Ds1 in nursery this afternoon, wondering whether to brave sainsburys with newborn ds2.

Who was looking for monsters university on DVD? Have you checked asda as mine has loads of stock.

LinzerTorte · 22/10/2014 11:25

Whoate WINGS gives 10% off at the Book People until 31st October, but there's a minimum spend of £15. You can also use SPEND10 for free delivery on orders over £10 (also valid until the 31st).

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 22/10/2014 11:28

I haven't been to sainsburys, but then I've already finished dd and she is the only one that would really buy toys for. Sainsburys is close to work so no doubt I will pick up a couple of little bits, she'd love the exclusive pinky pie, was hoping that would be reduced by more though.

I didn't get the boden voucher either, but then I did get several earlier on in the year and my dad passed on his as he only ever uses his account to buy stuff for my dc anyway.

I'm looking for ps4 bargains, shared present between the 12 and 17yr old, needs to have fifa 15 and minecraft or cheap enough I can justify buying the games. thanks

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 22/10/2014 11:32

Went to Sainsbury at 9am it's half term here n toy aisles were rammed they had loads of additional displays people had like 3 trolleys each over flowing must resell or have a hundred kids to buy for

Octonauts were 1/3 off so ds got the 2 things he wanted n I managed to sneak a Spiderman toy for Xmas that was half price.

Thomas tank 2 shelves normally full were almost empty.

Robertwars · 22/10/2014 11:34

Twiglet** I had the same email from Zavvi and then one the next day saying they were dispatched so fingers crossed !

waithorse · 22/10/2014 11:39

I got a Boden voucher. Don't know why, the only other time I've ordered from them was the last time they sent me a £10 voucher. Ordered a t shirt for ds, free delivery, think it cost around £9.80, so was free !! Grin

BuildersBum · 22/10/2014 11:41

What's the Sainsbury's exclusive Pinkie Pie ?

OutThereLil · 22/10/2014 11:41

Sainsburys was HEAVING.

Pure madness.

Some good discounts but not on stuff I wanted Sad

3bunnies · 22/10/2014 11:50

Our Sainsbury's wasn't great - but never has many toys and mine are growing out. I got the same lego as Bumpkitty but ours was priced as £2.24, scanned as 90p but had 75p taken off at checkout, so only 15p each. I might have been back for one or two more...
