I can't think of anything to buy, nothing at all so far! She doesn't like Hello Kitty, Moshi monsters (sp), One Direction, Loom Bands, etc., etc..

Likes - reading, we probably buy 15 books a month, Lego, she has more than enough, Shleich Fantasy - has enough, new watch recently, art - has enough supplies, sewing - has a sewing box/kit I put together for her last birthday, music (v musical)- has a piano and recorder am reluctant to introduce another instrument/anything else musical. V outdoorsy still uses her swing/climbing frame with tent on it. Has a bike, scooter, pony. We have a family iPad which she is allowed to use and she has our old iPod with a docking station in her room for books on tape.

Any ideas, I am lost, she never asks for anything, has tons of £ in her pocket money tin and never spends it - what on earth can I buy for Xmas?

How about a girly style tent for erecting in the garden and playing in/sleeping in warmer weather. I had a tent when I was a child and I loved it.

CarpetBagger · 09/09/2014 20:17

he has a pony, we always go to the Royal Opera House for ballet at Christmas with posh tea somewhere

wow what a lucky little girl and with a harp on the way!

She actually doesn't like rides (!), couldn't cope with them at the county fair so Legoland would be torture!

We don't actually have a trampoline - not sure why but we are reluctant - well we have a 4ft one we have had since she was 3.

Go ape type thing vouchers? not sure how near one is to you
Or weekend in London / trip to olympia type thing

Neither though are unwrap present on christmas day type ideas though ( esp as olympia before christmas - not my best idea)

HalleLouja · 09/09/2014 20:20

You could possibly buy the things you need to make a tent on a sewing machine and make it together. There are loads on the internet - teepee type things that one day I will make.

Could she have her own raised (?) bed in the garden she could plant somethings herself etc. Just thinking out of the box.

FelicityBennett · 09/09/2014 20:20

Agree re trampoline- my friend is an ortho surgeon / adores his children / gives in usually to whining etc but has remained steadfast that they will never have a trampoline! ( obviously though that just means they go twice as mad on others!)

Have you heard of Zoobs? Have a look at the various kits - can also get involved with the creations website and inventors contest.

sleepdodger · 09/09/2014 20:32

A kindle

lavendersun · 09/09/2014 20:40

We do camp so not sure her own tent would get used and we have slept in the summer house on occasion for fun since it arrived.

Climbing/abseiling etc., usually happens with cubs.

Felicity - we do have a neurosurgeon in the family and I think that is some of the reluctance!

We do city breaks in the winter and always stay in London in October.

CarpetBagger - my mum was a music teacher and I grew up experiencing all those lovely things. My daughter has grown up surrounded by it - we are all v musical and the ballet was always something we enjoyed as kids so I carried on the tradition!

Halle - Has a small picket fence with her own garden in it already - lost for ideas for her 6th birthday.

I do have a list of small things now though so thanks everyone.

Makedo?

EduCated · 09/09/2014 20:50

Not sure if I've missed this suggested, but a digital camera, or small handheld video camera for making films outside?

Biscuitsneeded · 09/09/2014 20:50

A decent brand pogo stick. My outdoorsy child bounces around regularly on his!

Dd2 (8) has asked for a electric guitar, light up lego ( not sure what it's called ), Shopkins and some crystals/gem stones ( new obsession ).

lavendersun · 09/09/2014 20:56

Thanks - will look at Percy Jackson - have asked in laws for Guardians of Ga'hoole set as she has asked for those.

Already have camera and archery set - has weekly archery lessons.

Pogo stick sounds fun, any recommendations for a decent one?

Have no idea what Makedo is - will google it!

Along the lines of pogo stick - stilts (the stick sort), diabolo, PedalGo, juggling set.

EduCated · 09/09/2014 21:00

Also swingball!

AugustaGloop · 09/09/2014 21:01

Definitely Kindle paperwhite if she is an avid reader. DD loves hers, it is extremely convenient on hols (we can download books on Wifi when she runs out) and can be cheaper than books (although DD does still read "proper" books a fair amount of the time when at home). She likes both!

DD got roller blades at that age.

DD10 recently got an IPod touch. There are some great apps for making movies etc which she loves. She has asked for a green screen for Christmas!

netball net?

AugustaGloop · 09/09/2014 21:02

Oh, DD11 has asked for a sofa for her room for Christmas. Something specific like that or a general room makeover?

EduCated · 09/09/2014 21:03

Was just about to say netball/basketball hoop!

TheRedQueen · 09/09/2014 21:07

A metronome.
An electronics kit ( my 9 year old loves hers -she has alarmed her bedroom door with it)!

KissItBetter · 09/09/2014 21:09

Nerf gun? Stomp rocket? Something remote controlled?
