Finlaggan Thank you! I was just thinking this afternoon that I'd buy the large lego head for DS.

I bought the skeleton one a few weeks ago, but it turned out to be a small one. I kept it but felt it was a bit too small, and I'd just made my mind up to go for the large yellow head when I saw your post. Smile

I've bought it now, before it goes back up again. Thank you Flowers

AliceLidl · 08/09/2014 15:03

I also bought a fart whistle at the same time. I'm not sure how that got on my wish list but it was only 96p so I'm thinking it was down to someone here Grin

Has anyone any The Book People codes? I only want to spend 10 on a book and would prefer not to have pay for delivery Smile

Got a Disney princess toddler Ariel and Cinderella (the £20 boxed ones) for £4.50 each in Asda today! The shelf said £4.50 but I asked the lady to check and she was as amazed as I was that it went through at £4.50! Well worth searching their shelves if you have chance Grin

VinoTime · 08/09/2014 17:37

I think I'm going to do homemade 'family' Christmas hampers this year. My extended family are always so good to us but buying for them all individually is just out of the question (I have a massive family). I should be able to get some boxes from work that I could wrap up nicely and cover in ribbons.

I'm thinking:

A Christmas CD (Poundland always have them)
A bottle of mulled wine
A small packet of shortbread
Some candy canes
A jar of homemade jam
A jar of homemade chutney
A small box of crackers
Some homemade peanut brittle (wrapped up with lots of ribbon)
'Homemade' Christmas chocolates using something like this silicone mold
A Christmas scented candle
A Christmas decoration that 7yo DD can make
And a couple of Christmas crackers

I think I can bring them in for around £10 each, which isn't too bad. Has anyone done homemade budget hampers before?

Mrsbaconandbeans · 08/09/2014 17:49

Vinotime I have done homemade hampers before and included a homemade candle. Pretty tea cups and saucers collected from charity shops. Soya chips/wicks bought on line and fragranced with essential oils. It was a link on a mums net thread years ago - I am sure with some digging it could be resurrected as its a very cheap gift to do Wink

Scaredycat3000 · 08/09/2014 17:50

I got my DS's to make chocolates in dinosaur/robot/animal moulds just like those last year Vino with lots of different sweets in the chocolate. I also used the moulds to shape marzipan, just broke off a small piece softened/warmed it up as I rolled it round, pushed it in the mould, firmed up in the fridge, taken out and left to air dry a little. Lidl will do some nice cellophane soon to wrap it all up in.

RJnomore · 08/09/2014 18:01

Remember I was looking for a nightlight for my 16 things starting ?ith N after the rabbit got stopped at hong kong customs?

I decided to take a chance and order from amazon again in the hope it arrived in times:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003QA1M8U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And it arrived within a week and it's fab! It does take three aa batteries but it projects the stars onto the ceiling, you can turn it to show the sky at different times of the year, or you can set it to mood lighting where it scrolls through some different colours. Well worth £2.50ish.

VinoTime · 08/09/2014 18:35

Got a couple of bits in today!

My 83p card holder is absolutely fantastic. And my 85p globe necklace is really pretty.

Kinda grumpy that I'm forcing myself to put them away. Both going into my Christmas stocking Grin
