I went bigger on my Elsa dress order ilove, it's not here yet but I went with a 13 for my 7yo (she wears my sz 8pj's Confused ) and a seven for the four yr old (figure I can turn up hem/sleeves if needed).

If the one for the oldest is not big enough I'm going to have to sew. haven't made a frock in years.

iloveholidays · 05/09/2014 18:57

oh Lucy, I'm not sure whether to go 3 sizes up then.....

lucysmam · 05/09/2014 19:08

A lot of the reviews said two up for a decent size - I figured three would give plenty of growing room between now & Xmas (youngest is five just after Christmas &oldest is just a giant Grin )

iloveholidays · 05/09/2014 19:13

I think I'll go 2 up. to be honest I'm sure I could sell on the local Facebook selling group and order another one, have plenty of time I hope!! will order tonight and stop being so indecisive :)

EvilHerbivore · 05/09/2014 19:19

Wild that's brilliant, thanks so much for looking

Reastie · 05/09/2014 19:41

I'm such a sheep again you've just made me buy zoo-ology

WildFlowersAttractBees · 05/09/2014 20:04

DD(3) wears age 2-3 clothes and I have ordered a T5 as the reviews said go up 2 sizes. Hope it's ok.

evelynj · 05/09/2014 20:28

Just a note about the zoology book-it's nice but annoyingly massive so will be difficult to store & lack of facts limits it for me-may end up gifting it out....was just about to go looking for paper & at mugs when I remembered I bought both in the big post Christmas sales last year. Will have to hold back from shopping for Christmas goodies until the start of December!

Insomniastrikesagain · 05/09/2014 20:57

Hey lovely people, so I'm slightly stressing as I ordered an Anna dress from the infamous Aliexpress on the 13th aug and still no sign...is this normal do you think? On my orders bit of my account it says "goods awaiting acceptance". Does that just mean it is waiting to come into the country?! Argh! Seller is Xingde Jiang if that makes any difference!

Chockywockydoodah · 05/09/2014 21:02

Donwenow the second purple lunch bag you linked is the one they sell in Asda (that we got) for £8 so is definitely authentic Smile

tassisssss · 05/09/2014 21:03

Maps books have arrived! I am so delighted with them, thanks to whoever spotted them at such a great price. I've been lusting after this in Waterstones for over a year and never seen for under £12. I keep thinking of more people I could give this to!

But, like the Zoology one, be warned, it's MASSIVE!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 05/09/2014 21:05

They are both definitely authentic - my DD has some bits in the second style from US Disney store.

I think there are usually 2 different images they use now for each princess, one that is the stylised version so all the princesses look similar and one that looks as they do in the film.

BumpKitty · 05/09/2014 21:25

insomina when you receive goods from aliexpress you have to log in to your account to say you have accepted them - that's what goods awaiting acceptance means. If you haven't received them you can log in and log an issue. Then the seller has to get back to you within a certain amount of time. They should also have provided a tracking number so you can see where the goods are.

Badvoc123 · 05/09/2014 21:30

I have just ordered the map books.
We are Borg :)

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 05/09/2014 22:12

£15 off a £30 spend for new customers at Very. 4MMCA

Like Isme, some of their stuff is a bit overpriced but it's a good way to get slushy cups, Converse etc. I'm getting DDs GHDs for £85 instead of £100 unless I can find them cheaper but genuine elsewhere. Remember Click and Collect to save postage, and Take 3 payments or pay off in full to avoid interest.

RJnomore · 05/09/2014 22:13

I get paid next Friday and it's my first wage without birthdays or holidays to come out this year - so its proper xmas shopping time! Yay!

GerrardWinstanley · 05/09/2014 22:24

Hi all
Just wanted to pop my head up and say thank you. Already picked up a few bargain stocking fillers - huge relief as I've been brave this year and not started christmas shopping until a couple of weeks ago. Normally I have a cupboard full of stuff by now!

Another huge fan of the maps book here. It's gorgeous and bought for 7 year old DD.

Other amazon things I've bought that haven't been listed so far (I think) couple of things for the crafty types
pom pom makers
rainbow washi tape

also travel shut-the-box game. Really good quality - good gift for that difficult grandad to play with the grandkids I reckon

Also recommend the tumbletots shop for preschoolers which has a bargain section here and usually does discount codes in the run up to christmas if you sign up to the newsletter.

Also worth keeping an eye on the brightminds website and signing up to the newsletter to get early warning of offers over the next weeks.

xmasplanner · 05/09/2014 22:41

Hi all, thank you for the recommendations! I have just ordered the 50cm plush Anna and Elsa dolls and the 20cm Olaf from Shen Yuan Aliexpress (thanks for that!) - Have I ordered the right ones that people have recommended?!

TheHoundsBitch · 05/09/2014 22:46

keepcalm The ghd website often have this code: GHD20 giving you £20 off. It might be a better deal than very.

BrianButterfield · 05/09/2014 22:50

The "2D" Frozen artwork is definitely official - it's on a Disney puzzle app we have and also a proper tie-in book.

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 05/09/2014 22:56

Thanks Hounds
Which one is the real GHD site? When I google it I get so many results and I'm not sure who to trust.

TheHoundsBitch · 05/09/2014 23:02

www.ghdhair.com

Ainmnua · 05/09/2014 23:02

Gerrard what do you do with the tape? It looks lovely.

GerrardWinstanley · 05/09/2014 23:32

Ainmnua

I've no idea yet but loads of ideas on pinterest! I've given up on craft kits now - always something missing/doesn't fit. I just buy/cadge interesting things or use junk to craft with. The idea comes later Smile. Recently re-discovered the joy of papier mache so washi tape would be great for decorating that. Or buy some card blanks and use the tape and some cheap buttons, table confetti etc so the kids can make the own thank you cards. Places like B&M or Home and Bargains is great for that kind of thing. Or maybe cover some rigatonni (spelling) and make pasta jewellery?

The downside of this approach is that my dining room is over-run with tissue-paper, buttons, glue, glitter, old socks, paper plates etc etc

The upside is you can get lots of lovely, cheap, colourful bits to put in a stocking and let their imaginations run riot Grin. Plus if you're lucky, it buys you 15 minutes peace while they create
