Tree I've had similar with patients turning up and we had no electricity due to a power cut that took out the entire street,
No lights, no sterilisor, no chair, no phones (this was the days before mobiles)
Electronic doors not working and complete lack of light along the entire street should have been a clue , mmm?
I was parked on Reception to tell people what was happening while the Clinic Manager tried to find out what was happening:
"I'm afraid we're unable to open a the moment there's a powercut"
"But I've got an appointment, how longs the power off for"?
"I don't know, the Manager is trying to find out. There's been a powerline cut, could be 3-4 hours. Your best bet is to phone back this afternoon"
"Can't you phone me"
"We can't phone out, but you can phone in"
"How did the Manager phone"
"Mobile. Her mobile" (before they asked to be phoned with her phone)
A few minutes later (and repeating the same information) a patient wanted to know why I couldn't hold my clinic in the waiting room.
"It's light enough" they said,
I have no sterile instruments, no light, no patient chair , and - vitally important- no privacy in the Waiting Room
Well today I have bought my candles and a couple of chairs. Sorted. <img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Smile" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/smile-iCO8d7ST.png">
