Just wanted to say thank you to whoever posted about the Zatchels sale. I have been Cummings and ahing all year but my first lovely satchel has arrived this morning and I love it!

Mama1980 · 12/07/2014 14:27

Just checking in

CallingAllEngels · 12/07/2014 16:33

Gah, missed out on the colour in castle. Reserved one in store but (rookie mistake) was only reserved till end of next day. My dm couldn't get in to pick it up because she was working. Tried to reserve again the next day but no stock and sure enough when my dm went in when she got off work the next day none left Sad

Bargain hunting is frustrating! That's why people buy stuff online and the high street is dying. Grrrrrr. Rant over.

So, if anyone sees a colour in house/castle/whatever in the sale again then let me know. Have failed twice now, lidl then argos, and have never seen them here (I'm not in the UK) but think DS would love it - wanted one for December when I'll be heavily pg or with a newborn to keep him busy!

WhyWhyWhyWhat · 12/07/2014 17:24

Does anyone remember on a previous thread there was some kind of desk ornament shaped like a jewel?

DS has just expressed a desire to hunt for jewels like on Swashbuckle (I find treasure hunts are a good mummy-put-your-feet-up activity). We use painted stones at the mo but some actual jewels would be more authentic.

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 12/07/2014 18:00

Calling if you're anywhere near Liverpool, there is a colour in house in stock at Bootle Argos.

HopefulHamster · 12/07/2014 18:03

Calling There's this Winter/Christmas one on eBay - £10 though.

Scaredycat3000 · 12/07/2014 18:13

Why Any of these any good?

CallingAllEngels · 12/07/2014 18:53

Thanks hopeful that looks cool. All the ones I found on Amazon were nearly £20!

Sadly not Yamas - in Holland where they have never heard of colour in playhouses Grin

Last year I got a lot of stuff for DS inspired by this thread from Amazon marketplace, but most don't ship here so got things sent to my parents. This year, because of pg, our last trip to the UK isearly October so am having to get planning for my proper bargains (there must be a dutch version of Mumsnet Christmas threads somewhere!).

RosieBdy · 12/07/2014 19:35

Finger lights have arrived - roll on Christmas!
The top of my wardrobe is already stacked with boxes and packets and it's only July! DH was starting to be concerned, but when I mentioned the bargains he seemed much happier!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 12/07/2014 20:40

Rosie our DC had the finger lights last year along with plague disclosing tablets. Both went down extremely well Smile

chaosisawayoflife · 12/07/2014 21:29

Loving the autocorrect. Not sure I'd want to know if I had plague!

RosieBdy · 12/07/2014 21:46

Lol chaos glad to know finger lights went down well :-) last year I kept on reading the threads and thinking 'no, I really we really don't need those' then feeling mad at myself when everyone said how great they were!

TheNightIsDark · 12/07/2014 22:58

Trying to order from aliexpress but it's going on about country codes etc. I may be being thick but what do I put?

WaitMonkey · 12/07/2014 23:18

I've no idea, Night. I found Ali very confusing. Sad

TheNightIsDark · 12/07/2014 23:22

Ah it's the phone number! Figured it out and ordered 24 Pokemon figures for £2 to see what they're like.

JustWannaDance · 12/07/2014 23:27

I can't get Ali to stay in British pounds. It keeps switching back to USA every time I search for something new.

So frustrating, I gave up.

WhyWhyWhyWhat · 13/07/2014 00:40

Thanks Scaredy, will take a look.

TheNightIsDark · 13/07/2014 07:15

I just have a currency converter open as I go.

Mrswilliams87 · 13/07/2014 07:23

Someone posted this on the thread last year and bought it for
My boy who was only 4 (because it was so cheap) it was a great toy for the whole family on christmas day! We spent hours flying it! It is very robust and i was surprised at how well it flys! Its at an all time low price aswell I've been tracking it on camel camel as i want to buy my dad one as a boys toy for xmas www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00BFSF66O

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2014 09:24

So does anyone know what the present for primary school children is going to be this year? Dd is starting reception in September so I know she's going to be influenced by it all! I think I'm going to have to wait until nearer the time for all of her bits

Littlemousewithcloggson · 13/07/2014 11:36

my youngest was in reception last christmas, her sister the year before and my niece the year before that. To be honest they all wanted the same at that age - hello kitty, disney princess (I suspect Frozen this year!), playmobil, lego, dress up to name a few.
They also showed a new interest in things they had in their classroom or playground - puppets and puppet theatre, bucket stilts, hula hoops and specific books spring to mind!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2014 16:43

Thanks Littlemouse. I'm worried I'll get her a frozen x,y,z and there'll be something else by then! That's reassuring though Smile

RhinosAreFatUnicorns · 13/07/2014 17:09

Thank you TenMinutes - just picked up my pony parade bargain pack from Argos for £7.98. Really impressed with it.

Livingwithminecraftaddicts · 13/07/2014 18:12

My local sainsburys had lots of diffuser sets, 3 wick ceramic candles etc all reduced. I bought 6 candles at £2.25 each. They will do classroom assistants or to add to a neighbour giftbag.

Livingwithminecraftaddicts · 13/07/2014 18:14

Also my ds got this last christmas and it is still giving lots of fun. stomp rocket
