Pyjamas from £1.95 at Character.com

SqutterNutBaush · 21/05/2014 21:49

Have just ordered some cheapo purses for my little sisters, whopping £1.30 each :o

Mipe · 21/05/2014 21:55

I can't believe I am ordering snowman candles in May :)

Coveredinweetabix · 21/05/2014 22:15

I'm a bit nervous about coming onto this thread as have so much in the cupboard still that I think I could cover most Xmas presents for friends' children this year as long as I gave them generic age appropriate presents rather than one chosen for that particular child IYSWIM. I also need fewer presents this year as have agreed with three friends that we are not going to buy for each other's DC going forward which removes five Xmas presents, two December birthday presents and a January birthday present. One other friend may have been moving towards suggesting this too but I brushed her off as I already have her DC's Xmas presents Blush
DS will be 2.7 by Xmas and I have already got a micro scooter for him second hand. I think something Octonauty could be good for him too if anyone sees one.
DD has her 5th birthday in the autumn & then there's Xmas. She's already talking about getting the Playmobil hotel so I'm looking for a good price for that. I have set up a CamelCamel thing for it. I don't think I'll get her much else in advance as she is off to school in September so I'm aware she's going to be susceptible to outside influence more and may get a new interest.
From last year, the best successes were the Playmobil school with DD plays with daily, the Playmobil swimming pool which is played with regularly and the Lego creative cakes which are also played with daily. All of them were half price or less from this thread.

rideyourbike · 21/05/2014 22:32

Birthdays before Christmas in our house, I'm hoping to be able to get my hands on a Disney store anna from frozen doll, not sure that will ever happen....

ipswichwitch · 21/05/2014 22:34

Candles ordered and pyjamas in the shopping basket ready to checkout when I'm done dithering!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 21/05/2014 22:37

uAnyone else excited about the Boots Star Buys? I really wish they did a list of them all in advance so you can plan what to buy.

SisterMoonshine · 21/05/2014 23:05

Oh great, these threads helped me a lot last year.
Only, what? 4 weeks and we're halfway through the year!
I've squirrelled away a couple of bits (doodlicious book from book people and a couple of local folklore tales books for adults).

Thanks for the link to the half price Crayola Glow book thing, I had my eye on that last year and didn't get it, but can feel good about that price.

McFox · 21/05/2014 23:26

Oooh this has the potential to either help me save loads or to spend lots more - it could go either way! Smile

Reastie · 22/05/2014 07:05

Now, I really need to go through my present cupboard s and start putting presents with people so I don't over-buy!

DD will be at preschool for the first time this christmas. What's the done thing Christmas present wise for the children? Do you get small gifts for everyone/nothing for anyone/or what? It's only a small preschool with a dozen children and they know each other quite well.

Oh no it's started! Last year I joined this thread in July. I have just bought 12 Christmas candles in May! I can see lots of eye rolling from DH when I tell him :)

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/05/2014 07:58

I will soon be the proud owner of lovely watch keyrings and chiffon scarves and 5 pairs of character pyjamas. Thank you Grin

I keep eyeing the display of gift cards at Tesco. A couple of times a year they have a sale and I plan to pounce - buy the card at 20% off and then use it in store for full purchasing power. Last year I had Debenhams, Superdrug and NewLook - very handy with two teenage DDs to buy for.

TheNightIsDark · 22/05/2014 08:27

No gifts for children at preschool usually Reastie. Least not at ours I don't think.

SqutterNutBaush · 22/05/2014 09:51

Right since yesterday I've bought an inflatable globe and 2 purses, you lot are a bad influence!

I use Xmas gift list on android as it keeps track of gifts and cost, you can make separate lists for everyone or just one big list and add names within notes. Very handy to stop over spending.

Especially as I have 5 birthdays and a wedding to pay for before Christmas :o

MotorLoo · 22/05/2014 10:49

Clothes from Tesco and Sainsbury's purchased. Snowman candles ordered. Thanks all :)

MooseyMoo · 22/05/2014 10:54

I'm eyeing up the Rapunzel Styling Head as she keeps putting hair clips/bands on her My Little Pony. It's only a small one, you can hardly see it!

I found some neon hair bands wrapped up in the shape on an ice cream cone from 99p shop - my first stocking filler!

nickdrakeslovechild · 22/05/2014 10:58

MooseyMoo I have seen that rapunzel styling head a lot cheaper than that as I considered it for my LO. Let me have a think where the hell I saw it.

Chimchar · 22/05/2014 11:27
