Christmas

Will no one rid me of this Furbulent Beast? Awful toys you can't switch off

Or at least the children have TOLD me they can't be switched off. Xmas Hmm

The furbies in this house are fast heading for extradition to the shed. On what grounds I cannot be concise but I am working on it.

Also on my personal shitlist this meteorologically challenged Christmas:

The V tech Toot Toot vehicles. Heard the songs? Once was enough. They are LEAVING THE BUILDING (I'm sure it was MN's fault, they were on that recommended email at least once)

Please feel free to add Satan's contribution to your own festivities. Xmas Grin

YOU NEED TO LIE IT ON IT'S BACK AND DON'T TOUCH IT.

If you touch it, you're 'playing ' with it, and while it will nap, it won't sleep.

We have four furby Booms in the house as I speak, and they are all asleep except one, which is being played with.

We discovered a few things about our furby today , it's voice had changed from cute to evil sounding (according to dd who was greatly upset by this) apparently it was a sign she wasn't loving it enough, it was recommended to massage its hear between the ears for 5 mins and sure enough the cute voice came back. I told it to 'go to sleep' earlier and it said 'ok' then said 'one baaaaa.....two..baaa...what comes after two?....' I said 'three' and it shut its eyes and went to sleep!!!

I love it! It looked at me earlier and said 'bling bling ,me love you' :-)

DD's has to be settled to sleep, but not in its box. It's a slightly older one, not a Xmas present, and a couple of months ago it was in its box, chuntering, snoring ... waking up again. I eventually realised it was going into a sort of feedback loop, with the sound and movement of it wriggling around in the box making it wake up. Confused

Hilarious thread, going to get one next year.

I swear DD's keeps shouting 'oh crappy, oh crappy'

I've spent most of the afternoon feeding and playing with it on the iPad. The games certainly get your fur blinds to the city quicker than feed it.

Ours just announced it was tired and started snoring.

I want another one!

DD's furby we got last Christmas went evil and rude after we replaced the batteries. It reset and changed personality - went from a Mogwai to a gremlin. It burps and shouts I made cocoa. Most disturbing! But weirdly become a happy thing now we have a Furby Boom. They sing together and giggle.

Love the dalek story. LOL

DD has a 'party rocker' Furby. I'm rather fond of it, although I have said it might need to sleep in the kitchen.

Ours (Bee-Dah) ran out of batteries after one day of use. Is this normal? It seems to want to sleep a lot. Have hatched 3 furblings since yesterday so must be tired!

We introduced Ds furby to nephews, they were very entertaining. At one stage the room went quiet & DN's blurted out 'boring'. My DS has made it a house in a cardboard box it's asleep in its dark box!

BigWellyLittleWelly · 26/12/2013 19:54

Oh man I want one.

But Dnephew got one today and DD1 (3) is fucking terrified of it. So I might have to wait a while.

Just don't feed them after. Midnight Grin

I used to love my furbies as a kid but when they started to break they'd look stoned

Report
hanloumac · 26/12/2013 20:19

Is it wrong that Ds just wants it to sleep, whereas dd (3) and me keep getting it dancing to will ferrels happy! Think DS is being boring, but think he's worried it will turn if he plays with it too much xx

OvO · 26/12/2013 20:46

Oh man, I've changed it into creep mode. Now it says "me likey" and "bee-doo into it" in a bit of a dirty old man way. It turns into Creep if you pull it's tail over and over. Grin

My ds's Furby says "Can I get a woop woop?" and "You talk cute." Think my DS is getting a little fed up as apparently it's very demanding!

Report
tassisssss · 26/12/2013 21:00

So I googled how to turn it off before taking it to church on Christmas Day! If you pull its tail for 10 seconds and then put it down it will sleep. This was fine until we sung a carol and it woke up!!

InTheRedCorner · 26/12/2013 21:02

Furblings not fur blinds!!

We have hatched 9 today. Sooo tempted to pull its tail loads just to hear the voice.

It caught furbillitis earlier and kept sneezing till I gave it a mint tea made of polos and hot water. You will be pleased to read it is now feeling better.

I've had to put it in the dining room because DH has said I can't play with it when the DC are sleeping. Miserable git.

ds2's furby is in love with DH. the weirdest thing is that DH seems rather chuffed by this Hmm it is last years so we are spared furblings and eggs. he is not irritating .....yet...

Our three are currently asleep standing in the corner facing each other. I am hoping they have worn each other's batteries down arguing with each other. At lunch time two were evil and one was still cute. The evil ones turned the nice one and then they bickered a lot.

The new Furbies sound hard work!!!'y two nieces have one each I believe; not seen them yet. Dd got one last year - so we don't have all these new features. I do like to send ours into evil mode but dd complains when I do.

Report
Orangeanddemons · 26/12/2013 22:16

Ours changed into a weird man too. At one point ds age 20 was googling how to change it back. He found out it needed stroking a lot. He then accused it of having a multiple personality disorder.

I had to stroke it better whilst dd cried for her old furby. It's more trouble than a baby

4 of my dcs got Furbies from FC. Yes, 4 They are driving me crazy.
One has turned evil, ds2 came into our room last night as he said his Furbies kept saying to him "I'm watching you...."

Report
TheNightIsDark · 26/12/2013 23:22

Do they actually learn English? DS has spent the day saying his name repeatedly to his (last years version not boom) and I'm not sure whether to tell him it's pointless or not.
