So what's in yours?

I have for dcs:
New pjs
Character bubble bath
Toothbrushes
Bubbles
Expanding facecloth
Chocolate Santa
Bottle with their name
New personalised Santa sack

I didn't mean to get so much but got carried away completely!

I have also done for dh with:
Loungewear bottoms
Superhero tshirt
Superman boxers
Radix
Chocolate Santa
Bottle of beer
Bottle opener that plays his football teams anthem

They will be waiting in the living room when we return from our walk on Christmas Eve, I think I'm more excited for this than Christmas morning!

Oh, and I almost forgot, because we are going away for Christmas and I am bound to forget their old stockings, they have new ones of those too!

TheXmasLogIn · 21/12/2013 22:04

This year the Christmas eve box was going to have the usual new PJS they get every year, new stockings with the DCs names on and a personalised book each. But then I noticed they both needed new dressing gowns (DD,almost 8 has been wearing an age 3-4 Xmas Blush) so I've put those in too.

Then when the stockings arrived I realised they were smaller than I had guessed they were and some of the stuff, I had bought for the stocking, won't fit in so I've moved things into the Christmas Eve box instead. I've put the new toothbrushes, character toothpaste and mouthwash, flannels, bath bomb sprudel things, a DVD each, some sweets and 2 cuddly toy Minions in it now so its pretty packed full!

Yesterday DS reminded me about reindeer food that they usually get on Christmas Eve to sprinkle so I'll probably squeeze that in too. Will have to make it first though as I totally forgot about it and normally buy it from the school christmas fair Xmas Confused

mumeeee · 21/12/2013 22:11

Never done Christmas hampers here. Most of that stuff would be in the stockings and I have enough stuff to buy for them without doing a Christmas Eve Hamper as well. All my DDs are in their 20's now and yes we do still do stockings.

mumeeee · 21/12/2013 22:15

OvO I completely understand why you are doing a Christmas Eve Hamper and think that it is a lovely idea for you to do it.

DreamToSleep · 21/12/2013 23:43

OvO that is so lovely.

McPheelingUpSanta · 21/12/2013 23:46

I'm doing this for the first time with my 18 month of Dd Smile

So far, all I have is a new pair of pjs Hmm

HaroldTheGoat · 21/12/2013 23:48

OvO Thanks what a lovely idea. You spoil your DS and anyone who has any beef with that is surely a flint hearted grinch.

Bunbaker · 21/12/2013 23:50

No

I have never done one and don't intend to start. Why make a rod for my own back?

I had never heard of them before reading about them on here.

BeaWheesht · 21/12/2013 23:54

Oh I haven't included a rod for my own back, it wouldn't have fitted in the box tbh and I didn't want to go overboard.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/12/2013 23:59

OvO I love your Christmas Eve Hamper from your DS2 and I think it's a poignant, bittersweet Tradition to make your Christmas inclusive of all your DC.

That's why these Traditions are important and whatever someone does is down to their family alone. You enjoy them. And throughout the year you think back and have a warm 'n' fuzzy moment.

That's what matters.

Somethingpink · 22/12/2013 11:10

Yes so far they have got

New pjs
New dressing gown
Giant cup with hot chocolate
Marshmallows

We have hot chocolate, new pyjamas and a Christmas book. But it's not called a hamper or in a hamper. Is this a new thing? I've only heard this on Mumsnet.

Why the presents? I don't mean the practical presents and pyjamas, but other gifts. Christmas itself being only a few hours away Confused Wouldn't it kind of spoil it?

Geckos48 · 22/12/2013 19:48

Kids have got
'New' pj's
Slippers
Hot chocy
Monsters university DVD
Popcorn
Bubble bath
Dressing gowns

Usually would have pj's for me and husband also but we can't afford it this year.

BlondieTinsellyMinx · 22/12/2013 19:50

OvO that's a lovely tradition and way of remembering/including your darling DS2. I am sorry for your loss.

We do a hamper too, it's a nice way to kick off Christmas proper. The elves leave it wrapped in the middle of the living room floor! In this year's we have

New PJ's all round
Silly Christmas socks
Snuggley Blanket
Christmas film
A pop up edition of the night before christmas book as recommended on here
Choc snowman for DD
Wine for me and DH

Chottie · 22/12/2013 19:53

Ovo - I love your idea for including all your DC and wish your family joy, health and happiness for 2014.
